It's Only Monday And We Have An Asshat Winner

Sarah Palin: As more Americans delve into the disturbing details of the nationalized health care plan that the current administration is rushing through Congress, our collective jaw is dropping, and we're saying not just no, but hell no! The Democrats promise that a government health care system will reduce the cost of health care, but as the economist Thomas Sowell has pointed out, government health care will not reduce the cost; it will simply refuse to pay the cost. And who will suffer the most when they ration care? The sick, the elderly, and the disabled, of course. The America I know and love is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of Obama's "death panel" so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their "level of productivity in society," whether they are worthy of health care. Such a system is downright evil.

I'm all for Free Speech, but when it seeks to feed into hysteria, I wonder about the responsibility of the speaker. When what you say has a consequence, and when you are presumed to be an intelligent person, shouldn't you do something we were all told to do as children: Think before you speak.

Sarah Palin once again plumbs the depths of insanity when she paints a picture of death panels and the sick and injured pleading their case for treatment before a panel of judges as though it was an episode of America's Got Down Syndrome.

Why this woman continues to speak and paint herself as the Idiot General of the Republican party is beyond me. When she quit her job midway through her term, I'd hoped she'd go away and we wouldn't her from her again.

But stupid doesn't go away, stupid thinks of new ways to inflame the masses about "the other guy" rather than offer a valid solution of her own. If Sarah Palin wants to be a viable candidate for anything except dog catcher--which, even that is out of her realm of expertise--she ought to think before she speaks.

But we all know thinking isn't her strong suit.

  1. I'm still laughing at your headline. Sarah Palin is so much smarter than I gave her credit for. She's going to end up being the next Ann Coulter, but Palin is at least likable on a personal level, unlike Coulter.

Anyone with an ounce of intelligence knows she is just spewing meaningless right wing extremist rhetoric. Anyone, that is, except the hordes of FOX News viewers and hate-radio listeners who have proven themselves incapable of independent thought. Those poor schmucks are eating it right up, believing every single lie that Palin and her ilk spew forth.

  2. Just shaking my head - again over the ignorance about health care.
As I mentioned before a lot of the Right Wing Wingnuts keep harping that if you'all aren't careful you will end up like us dreaded Canadians.

So can they answer why my friend's 80 something mom who went into palliative care in Feb (given less than a month to live) is still alive and has since received two major surgeries including a hip replacement?

Ahhh but the Right Wing Wingnuts don't tell anyone these stories do they??

  3. Ron White nailed it: "You can't fix stupid." I guess you can't shut it up either.

  4. I actually used the dog catcher line in an email with someone...but I said she wouldn't be any good at that, either, because she'd probably shoot the dog. LOL

Yes...a blog entry coming soon about the dangers of rhetoric and misinformation.

  5. Good dog catcher line!

What worries me is how those "true believers" won't listen to reason and don't think for themselves. It's really scary.
