I Didn't Say It ...

John Oliver, host of Last Week Tonight, on Donald’s locker room buddy Billy Bush:

“And incidentally, fuck Billy Bush. Fuck that guy. Fuck him. Fuck him. … It is gross enough that he’s serving as Donald Trump’s hug-pimp but let’s not gloss over the fact that he just said ‘How about a little hug for the Bushy.’ A phrase that, if it is not already, should be a felony offense in all 50 states.”

It now appears that Billy bragged to coworkers at NBC about the tape because he thought his voice had been edited out.
Buh-bye, Billy.
President Barack Obama, on Donald’s latest gaffe:

"One of the most disturbing things about this election is just the unbelievable rhetoric coming at the top of the Republican ticket. I don't need to repeat it. There are children in the room. Demeaning women, degrading women, but also minorities, immigrants, people of other faiths, mocking the disabled, insulting our troops, insulting our veterans. That tells you a couple things. It tells you that he's insecure enough that he pumps himself up by putting other people down—not a character trait that I would advise for somebody in the Oval Office.”

Four.More.Years!
I wish.
Glenn Beck, endorsing Hillary Clinton:

“It is not acceptable to ask a moral, dignified man to cast his vote to help elect an immoral man who is absent decency or dignity. If the consequence of standing against Trump and for principles is indeed the election of Hillary Clinton, so be it. At least it is a moral, ethical choice.”

Is that Hell freezing over? Glenn Beck may vote Blue?
Rudy Giuliani, saying he didn't see Hillary Clinton on 9/11, right before a photo emerged showing the two standing side-by-side:

“Don’t tell me if you said that you remember September 11, 2001. I remember September 11, 2001. Yes, yes, you helped to get benefits for the people who were injured that day. But I heard her say that she was there that day. I was there that day, I don’t remember seeing Hillary Clinton there.”

Except, ya did, Rudy, ya did see her down there.
And you wouldn’t know the difference between the truth and a lie if the truth bitchslapped for five hours straight you pandering disgrace of a human being.
Chris Kluwe, former NFL player and LGBT rights activist, speaking to Donald in an OpEd:

“I was in an NFL locker room for eight years, the very definition of the macho, alpha male environment you’re so feebly trying to evoke to protect yourself, and not once did anyone approach your breathtaking depths of arrogant imbecility. Oh, sure, we had some dumb guys, and some guys I wouldn’t want to hang out with on any sort of regular basis, but we never had anyone say anything as foul and demeaning as you did on that tape, and, hell, I played a couple years with a guy who later turned out to be a serial rapist. Even he never talked like that. We talk about women (and sex!). We talk about wives, sisters, mothers, daughters, fans, and groupies. Most guys respect women, some guys don’t, but never have I heard anyone use your particularly disgusting brand of sadism that refers to women as objects and not people. Even the most debauched club-hopping party animal talks about women more civilly than you. We don’t let each other talk like that about women, because it lessens our humanity, and even though we’re modern-day gladiators, we still hold ourselves accountable to the idea of basic human decency. We talk about jokes. Clean jokes, dirty jokes, jokes that are in between. Hell, I made a joke about Penn State that got me in trouble years later, because someone thought I was attacking the victims instead of the institution that allowed such depravity to happen. You know what I did? I apologized. I said I was sorry. I didn’t apologize with ‘if your feelings were hurt by it’; I didn’t try to deflect it by attacking someone else, or their spouse; I didn’t lie to an entire nation on live TV and say, ‘Nope, that never happened.’ I simply said, ‘I’m sorry, I made a mistake, I’m accountable, I’ll do better next time.’ The next time you want to claim that something is ‘locker room talk,’ take a moment to recognize the fact that were you in an actual locker room, you would be universally reviled as a cancerous, egotistical train wreck of a disgrace that no team could possibly find the time to employ and, honestly, would never even have on their draft board to begin with. I’ve been in locker rooms, Donald, and you’re the type of narcissistic, pants-soiling fecal eruption that just doesn’t belong. Even football players are smart enough to know that.”

I Didn't Say It ...

Kathy Miller, Donald [t]Rump’s Ohio County Campaign Chair, on racism in America and who’s to blame:

“I don’t think there was racism until Obama got elected. We have never had problems like this. I am in the real estate industry. There is none. Now you know with the people with the guns. And shooting up neighborhoods. And not being responsible citizens. That’s a big change. And I think that’s the philosophy that Obama has perpetuated on America. If you are black and you haven’t been successful in the last fifty years, it’s your own fault. I think that when we look at the last fifty years where are we and why? We have three generations of all still having unwed babies, kids that don’t go through high school. I mean when do they take responsibility for how they live. I think it’s due time. And I think that’s good that Mr. Trump is pointing that out.”

Wow. America. 2016, or 1816?
And, for the record, this isn’t the woman who works with me—see yesterday’s Random Musings.
On the upside, Miller was forced to resign once it became public that she's an ignorant racist.
Tom Fordon his Nocturnal Animals star Jake Gyllenhaal:

“If you like the chest, you should see what’s down here. There is no manscaping. There is no manscaping.”

The more I learn about Jake, the more I … I’ll leave that there.
Barbra Streisand, in an op-ed about The Rump:

“We cannot allow America to fall into the hands of a narcissist who has shown no regard for anyone but himself… a bigoted and misogynist reality-TV character with no political experience and no qualms about lying loudly and often.”

Sing it, Babs. No, really, sing it.
Glenn Beck, to Ted Cruz on his endorsement of The Rump

“You had this information the day you dropped out of the race. And said that Donald Trump is a ‘sociopathic liar.’ You had all this information. Have you spent an enormous amount of time with Donald Trump? Do you have new information that has made you say, ‘Oh my gosh, he’s now not a sociopathic liar. He is not the guy that I very eloquently spelled out, for over a year, and now there’s suddenly a reason to believe him’?”

Although I did not see or hear the exchange, I gather that Cruz had no response because he’s just a pandering bag of scum.
Gethin AnthonyGame of Thrones and Aquarius actor, on playing one of the only openly gay characters on GoT:

“Westeros is a very scary world, with all the politics and violence going on, so it was nice to play an affectionate gay couple within that world. We were very passionate about it being a positive thing. I still hold on to that and I’m still very proud of it. I got some lovely letters. One that sticks out was from a gentleman who was about to propose, or has perhaps just proposed, to his partner. He said some really nice things about seeing a gay relationship on television. Whenever people connect to things you’re involved with or a story you’re telling, it’s a lovely thing.”

We need to some out, and we need to be represented on television, and in film, in positive ways.
That’ll spark some change.
President Obama, at the opening of the National Museum of African American History and Culture:

“And so this national museum helps to tell a richer and fuller story of who we are. It helps us better understand the lives, yes of the president, but also the slave; the industrialist but also the porter; the keeper of the status quo but also the activist seeking to overthrow that status quo; the teacher or the cook alongside the statesmen. And by knowing this other story, we better understand ourselves and each other. It binds us together. It reaffirms that all of us are American. That African American history is not somehow separate from our larger American story; it’s not the underside of the American story. It is central to the American story. That our glory derives not just from our most obvious triumphs but how we’ve rested triumph from tragedy and how we’ve been able to remake ourselves again and again and again, in accordance with our highest ideals.”

Perhaps Kathy Miller should spend some time in the museum so she can get her facts and her head straight.
And then, seriously, why can’t this man run for a third term?

I Didn't Say It ....

Glenn Beck, on same-sex marriage destroying churches:

"Mark my words. If gay marriage goes through the Supreme Court and gay marriage becomes fine and they can put teeth in it so now they can go after churches, like the president's lawyer says, 50 percent of our churches will fall away. Meaning, within five years, 50 percent of the congregants will fall away from their church because they won't be able to take the persecution. Mark my words, within five years, 50 percent of the people that you sit next to in church will not be there."

Cuz you know there ain’t no gay folks in church.
Siddown Glenn.
Jim Jefferies, Australian comedian, summing up why so many foreigners are baffled by America's gun culture:

"In Australia, we had the biggest massacre on earth, and the Australian government went: ‘That's it! NO MORE GUNS.’ And we all went, ‘Yeah, all right then, that seems fair enough, really.’ ... Now in America, you had the Sandy Hook massacre, where little tiny children died. And your government went, ‘Maybe ... we'll get rid of the big guns?’ And 50 percent of you went, ‘FUCK YOU, DON'T TAKE MY GUNS.’"

Can’t argue with simple logic.
Ian Reisner, the gay hotelier who hosted an event for anti-gay Ted Cruz, stepping deeper into it:

“You know, it’s so ironic — I wanted to build kind of a community center in the gateway to Hell’s Kitchen, which in 2008–2009 was already a gay place and now it’s even gayer. Very close to Broadway. We decided there’d be so many different ways to give back to the community. We show gay artists there. For gay performers, we have let this cabaret club go on for three and a half years. And you don’t make money when you let drag queens in on Tuesday night and 30 people drink at $10 a drink and you have to pay five people to watch over the place. You don’t make money ... My only point is, this has not been a profitable venture. Gays are cheap. They’re frugal; gays are frugal. Let me retract that … gays are entitled.”

No, rich white gays who care only about their bank accounts and pander to bigots and homophobes are entitled.
Mike Huckabee, addressing the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference:

"I respect the courts, but the Supreme Court is only that — the supreme of the courts. It is not the supreme being. It cannot overrule God. When it comes to prayer, when it comes to life, and when it comes to the sanctity of marriage, the court cannot change what God has created. Somebody's got to be willing to take on the institutions that challenge and threaten our ability to believe as we believe, because when religious liberty is lost, all liberty is lost. I do not come to you tonight with the ability to speak Spanish. But I do speak a common language: I speak Jesus."

Um, Mike? I’m’a need you to step away from the Bible and take a look at a little something I like to call the Constitution.
Then I’m’a ask you to sit down.
Guy Benson, a conservative talk radio host, FoxNews[?] contributor and political editor for Townhall.com, coming out as gay:

"I just want to acknowledge, quickly, that I recognize that I am so fortunate to live in a country and an era where we can be having this exact kind conversation on national television. And I recognize that a lot of that is due to the fact that I'm standing of the shoulders of people who've worked very hard for a very long time, who probably don't share my political persuasion. So I just want to give them some credit in this. But I think when that crosses some threshold into punishing and purging dissenters and trying to exact punishments on people for not agreeing, that is not what we should be about in this country. I think we should be better than that in this country."

Wow, he came out and yet he’s still as self-loathing as he was when he was locked in the closet spanking his tiny monkey to Men’s Health magazines.
I mean, that must be the case, because he has no proof, other than his own anti-gay loathing, to back up his claim that The Gays are out to hurt anyone.
Asking to be treated equally is not a threat to anyone except bigots and gay homophobes.
Morgan Brittany, has-been actress, writing about the Baltimore riots for World Net Daily:

"I don’t think the chaos in Baltimore 'just happened'; I think it was planned and is the next step in the breakdown of our society. From now until the verdict in this trial, the agitators will continue to travel and communicate city to city, town to town, stirring up unrest and hate, keeping people on edge waiting to see the result of this cliff-hanger. If the verdict is not what they want, perhaps Obama will have to institute martial law to preserve order, form a national police force and postpone the 2016 elections. Crazy? Maybe, but we are on the edge in this country. Attacks are coming from all sides, from inside and outside of our borders, and we are becoming overwhelmed. What happens when Baltimore spreads across the country and our television screens show four or five cities burning at once? Who will we turn to at that point? 'One Nation under God' – we need Him now more than ever."

Oh, someone wants to be seen as relevant again. I mean, the last time Brittany was in the news was when she murdered Bobby Ewing in an episode of Dallas that was later revealed to have been a dream.
And she must still be asleep.

Have A Coke ... Tener Un Coca Cola ... يكون للفحم الكوك ... 有一个可乐 ... Есть кокс ... Haben eine Coke ...

I sometimes think I’m the odd man out; not just for being gay, though there are some who think that makes me odd; not for being a snarky queen, though others disagree. I think I’m the odd man out because when I see someone who looks different than me — me, being a middle-aged … gosh that hurts … white man — I like what I see. If I pass a person on the street who is a different color than I am, I find it interesting; when someone speaks another language than the English I speak, I find it appealing; if someone dresses differently than the so-called norm, I find them charming.

Which was why I loved the Coke ad that played during the Superbowl; that one-minute commercial that featured children and adults, gay and straight, from all walks of life, from all across America, singing "America the Beautiful" in multiple languages. I loved the different ethnicities and genders and orientations and families and languages in the ad because it made me remember that, despite the fact we are all so different, we are all Americans, and I think that’s cool. I like living in a country where we don’t all look and act and think and speak and dress and love the same; I live for different.

And so I am the odd man out because that little Coke ad up there at the top seems to have really pissed some people off; it sent a great many into hysterical reactions, racist comments, and just plain idiotic responses.

At first people jumped on the idea of the two gay dads in the ad — and it was a kind of blink-and-you’ll-miss-it segment — because, I guess, in their America, two gay dads don’t exist. News flash: they do. Still, I expected a little outrage over those dads because we rarely see gay couples featured in mainstream ads on mainstream shows, much less the most watched Superbowl in history-ry-ry-ry-ry-ry. Echoing is mine.

Michael Patrick Leahy at Breitbart.com was not happy to see gay dads roller-skating, with children, and Coke:
"When the company used such an iconic song, one often sung in churches on the 4th of July that represents the old 'E Pluribus Unum' view of how American society is integrated, to push multiculturalism down our throats, it's no wonder conservatives were outraged."
Wait’ “America The Beautiful” is sung mostly in churches on 4th of July? So, that means no gays? How Leahy can talk about integrated society in the same breath as having multiculturalism shoved down his throat is the height of GOP and conservative pundit lunacy. See, try as we might, America is not yet fully integrated? Not for all of us, sir; many of us are still considered less than in this country. I know, because I’m one of them.

But then I heard people were going nuts because “America The Beautiful” was being sung in languages other than English even though we are not a solely English-speaking country no matter what anyone thinks. We don’t have an “official” language in this country, so stop thinking and acting as if we do.

Former GOP Congressman, and deluded asshat, Allen West was especially unnerved by having to hear a non-English commercial, and wrote on his blog:
"If we cannot be proud enough as a country to sing "American the Beautiful" in English in a commercial during the Super Bowl, by a company as American as they come -- doggone we are on the road to perdition."
But Allen, it was an American ad sung by American for an American company and aired during an American sports tradition, but if you want to hear the song sung in America’s “native” language then might I suggest that you pick a Native American group to sing it because everyone else in this country is an immigrant who brought their own language here.

And that’s what’s good about this country; that America welcomes everyone and respects their differences; we are, as that old saying goes, a melting pot of multiculturalism and we are every language and creed and religion and gender and orientation and for Coke to feature that in an ad makes me wanna shout, I’ll have a Coke please. But, while West’s condemnation of the ad was somewhat tame — if also somewhat stupid — conservative columnist and Fox News Radio host Todd Starnes could not contain his rage or his Twitter fingers:

This is the typical right-wingnut, conservative zealot GOP response: America, love it, and speak English, or leave it. Starnes only speaks English so then English should be the only language he hears. How American is that? How welcoming is that? How delusional is that?

And then we have Glenn Beck, who recently began speaking a little more intelligently about the LGBT community, especially in light of the Russian anti-gay laws, but now he’s reverted back to form:
“So somebody tweeted last night and said, ‘Glenn, what did you think of the Coke ad?’ And I said, ‘Why did you need that to divide us politically?’ Because that’s all this ad is. It’s in your face, and if you don’t like it, if you’re offended by it, you’re a racist. If you do like it, you’re for immigration. You’re for progress. That’s all this is: To divide people. Remember when Coke used to do the thing on the top and they would all hold hands? Now it’s, have a Coke and we’ll divide you.”
It’s funny, and sad, to me, that Beck thinks this ad is divisive because I think when you include everyone, all nationalities and genders and orientations who live in this country and call America home, you’re being inclusive, but then Beck probably only wants to include the white right people.

As I’ve said, we are a country made up of many different peoples; we don’t all look alike, think alike, speak alike, love alike, worship alike, but if we can’t agree on one simple fact … that we are all Americans … then we’re sunk. Why can’t we celebrate the differences? Why can’t people who speak Spanish be American? Why can’t two men raise a family together as a loving couple? Why can’t we wear certain clothes, and preach certain things, and sing in our native tongue?

I say embrace the differences; learn something new. Or sit back in your easy chair and grow more and more angry.

Oh yeah, and let’s not forget that Katharine Lee Bates, who wrote “America The Beautiful”, was a Lesbian.

Snap.

Random Musings

Let's start with a little bragging. I am a very proud Smallville hubby today. yesterday Carlos recieved an award for his work in HIV Outreach-Education-Counseling.
I'm kvelling ovah heah.....

And now for a political joke sent in by a friend....
A woman in a hot air balloon realized she was lost. She lowered her altitude and spotted a man in a boat below. She shouted to him: "Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don't know where I am."
The man consulted his portable GPS and replied, "You're in a hot air balloon, approximately 30 feet above ground elevation of 2,346 feet above sea level. You are at 31 degrees, 14.97 minutes north latitude and 100 degrees, 49.09 minutes west longitude.
"She rolled her eyes and said, "You must be an Obama Democrat."
"I am," the man replied. "How did you know?"
"Well," answered the balloonist, "everything you told me is technically correct. But I have no idea what to do with your information, and I'm still lost. Frankly, you've not been much help to me."
The man smiled and responded, "You must be a Republican."
"I am," replied the balloonist. "How did you know?"
"Well," said the man, "you don't know where you are or where you are going. You've risen to where you are due to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise you have no idea how to keep, and you expect me to solve your problem. You're in exactly the same position you were in before we met, but somehow, now it's my fault."

Hot Men Alert:
Colin O'Donoghue. Captain Hook on Once Upon A Time.
Sam Palladio. From Nashville. Anmd he can saaang, too!

There is a certain writer who writes, well, badly, most of the time, and lies, well, all the time. On my blog she is called "She Who Will Not Be Mentioned" because she's not worthy of the attention.
And yet she gets it, most recently for writing a book about race, because she's a white woman and knows all about racism. But this week she also Twatted--which is what asshats do while the rest of us Tweet--and used a derogatory term to call the President.
The interwebz went into overdrive, but here's the rub:"She Who Will Not Be Mentioned" writes these books and Twats these thing for the attention, and many people fall right into it, talking her up and booking her on their chat shows.
If we really want "She Who Will Not Be Mentioned" to go away, just stop talking about her.
Even FuxNews will get tired of her antics.

The latest rumor floating around Hollywood is that Matt Bomer lost out on a chance to play Superman because he’s gay.
At least according to author Jackie Collins.
Who's Jackie Collins?
She's Joan Collins' younger sister and writes craptastic novels.
Who's Joan Collins?
She fucked Warren Beatty in the 60s.
Who's Warren Beatty?
I'm'a stop you right there because this could go on all night. Let's just say that Jackie Collins, age unknown, has a new book to promote--she writes a lot about Hollywood because, um, I think she ate at Spago when Spago was hip--and is now saying that she knows for a fact that openly gay Matt Bomer lost out on that super role because, well, he's openly gay.
Jackie says Bomer “had not come out of the closet, but people in the know knew he was gay. His audition tape went in and he called up the agent. Someone didn’t like him and told [the producers] he was gay. They said, ‘No, no, we can’t cast you.’ The reason he didn’t get cast was because he was gay.”
Collins does not reveal her source, because, like her writing, it's all made up, and like "She Who Will Not Be Mentioned" she'd sell her soul for a few minutes of airtime.

Who knew?
Glenn Beck thinks Obama should be re-elected.

And so does the rest of the world......

I have a wack-a-doo sense of humor. I often say that I am like Sophia from The Golden Girls and I lost that part of the brain that censors speech. I will say just about anything, and, yes, every so often I say something meant to be funny, but it comes off rude and distasteful and I apologize for being offensive.
But, one area I don't ever find funny is the area of parents killing their children who come out as gay. Call me crazy, but I don't think murdering children tickles anyone's funny bone.
Or at least it shouldn't.
This is why Kristina Bui, the editor of the Arizona Wildcat, the student newspaper of the University of Arizona, has been apologizing for a cartoon which joked about a father killing his gay son:
"On Tuesday, the Daily Wildcat staff made a serious error in judgment in printing a cartoon that some readers felt was homophobic and inappropriate. We heard from several readers who expressed their disappointment and hurt over the comic strip.
The Arizona Daily Wildcat is now reviewing its editorial policies and has terminated the employment of the cartoonist as of Wednesday. His views do not represent the views of the Wildcat staff, nor does the Wildcat represent the views of the university.
The “etc.” cartoon in question illustrated a parent threatening their child if he ever came out, and the two characters joke about the threat. We agree with the criticism we’ve met, and we apologize. The comic was not funny."
Sad that it took publishing the cartoon, and the subsequent backlash, for anyone on the board of that newspaper to think that murdering a child simply for being gay is funny.

So, last week Puerto Rican boxer, Orlando Cruz made history by coming out as a gay man. And then he made history again last week when he beat out rival Jorge Pazos. He'd been nervous before the fight, expecting to be booed or jeered at, but most people in the crowd cheered him on and supported him:
"I was very happy that they respect me. That’s what I want — them to see me as a boxer, as an athlete and as a man in every sense of the word. That was my moment, my opportunity, my event… And I won."
And it may be only the beginning.
Cruz is hoping this victory will get him a shot at a bigger match in the near future: "This fight’s going to open my door for a world title fight. That’s my dream, my mom’s dream, my community’s dream and my team’s."
And, while he's out as a gay man, he's also out as a gay role model: "I’m only one person. I feel happy with where I am. I’m free. I’m more at peace."
Coming out is a beautiful thing.

So the Log Cabin Republicans endorsed Mittsy.
I wonder why.....
It's all been shrouded in secrecy; meetings at out of the wait farmhouses, secret handshakes, decoder rings.
Word has it that the LCR reached an agreement with Mittsy that, if he's elected, he would come out in support of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act.
Hard to believe because there aren't many more rabidly anti-LGBT politicians that Little Bully Romney, even harkening back to his days of cutting the hair of ALLEGED homosexuals.
But this is, again ALLEGEDLY, all being kept hush-hush so Mittsy doesn't anger his base of rightwingnut, bigoted, homophobic, religious zealot conservatives who might not vote for him if he even shows the slightest hints at being LGBT-friendly, or, as I think he'd prefer it, LGBT-adjacent.
But, I also wonder; Mittsy is such a prevaricator, how does the KLCR even know he'd keep that ALLEGED promise? I mean, isn't it just like Mittsy to get the endorsement and then give a big one-fingered salute to the LCR should he take the White House next month? OR ...... maybe he will support ENDA and he'll throw all those Religious Rightwingnut Conservatives, whose asses he's been rimming for months, under the bus.
Either way, anyone on their right mind who is gay, or gay-friendly, cannot possibly think that a Romney presidency will move us forward.

Hot Woman Alert:
Madeleine Stowe.
Victoria Grayson on Revenge. As I said on Facebook yesterday, I almost feel the need to turn in my Gay Card because of the huge crush I have on her.
Luckily, Homo HQ has given me the go-ahead for my crush as long as I keep it non-stalkerish and platonic.
M'kay.

Donald Trump's October "surprise" was another case of so-what from a snake-oil salesman with a dead rat on his head.
He promised to give $5 million to any charity if Barack Obama released his college records and applications, and his passport and applications.
As I said on another blog, I'll spend five-bucks on a Chick-fil-A sammich when Trump takes that animal carcass off his melon.
But, um, well, maybe there was another reason Trump picked yesterday for his October "Surprise."
The 'Apprentice' host has been fired....and by his own company.
Excuse me a sec....bwahahahahahahahahahahahaha.
I’m back. The condominium board at Trump Place has quietly fired the Trump Organization from managing the pricey high rise on the Hudson River that bears its name, replacing The Dumbass, er, Donald, with AKAM Living Services, a management firm that has presided over luxury buildings at such high-end zip codes addresses as Central Park West, Fifth Avenue and West End Avenue.
And the move took the blowhard by surprise, according to real estate blog The Real Deal: “We certainly would have been willing to discuss the concerns of the board if they had contacted us,” Sonja Talesnik, general counsel for the Trump Organization, said. “They gave us no indication that they were looking to change managing agents.”
Anna Fishbeyn, vice president of the Trump Place board, disagrees: "We've been waiting for their services to improve for years. And when they didn't, we started investigating other services."
In other words, Donald, You're fired.
Suh-nap!
