I Didn't Say It........

Bradley Cooper, on being named People's Sexiest Man Alive:

“I think it’s really cool that a guy who doesn’t look like a model can have this [title]… I think I’m a decent-looking guy. Sometimes I can look great, and other times I look horrifying.....If you're a single man and you happen to be in this business," he says, "you're deemed a player. But I don't see myself as a ladies' man."

Um, Brad? May I Call you Brad? or just stick with Hottie McHottie?
If you don't consider yourself a ladies man do you, um, consider yourself a man's man.
Careful how you answer, because I have a proposition for you.

Lil B, rapper, hoping to raise HIV awareness:

“A lot of guys think it’s cool to have sex with a lot of women. I’m not having sex with all these women. I lie about it a lot; I lie about having sex with 40 girls. I’m not doing that, and I want people to know, if you are doing that, you are at high risk of getting AIDS or other STDs and you need to make sure you get tested. This is me paying back to the world and just being truthful, honest, and doing something that I feel is right.”

You all know how I'm into gangsta rap, right?
Sorry, just had to.
I don't know Lil B, and have actually never heard of Lil B. But I do know the sort of image that many rappers portray and it's nice to see someone stand up for responsibility.
HIV and AIDS are gay diseases.
STDs aren't just for the promiscuous.

Lea Michele, on her unconventional looks:

“Have I been asked to change anything? Uh-huh. Uh-huh. When I was 15, my mother and I went to meet a manager who said, ‘You have to get a nose job in order for me to work with you.’ My mother would say to me, ‘Barbra Streisand never got a nose job. You’re not getting a nose job.’ And this was before I really even knew who Barbra was. I just knew that she was, like, the messiah for girls like me.”

As it should be.
I mean, look at some of those old movie stars. Many of them looked alike and fit a certain mold. Then Streisand came along and busted the mold.
It was a good thing.

William B. May, head of Catholics For The Common Good [of Catholics Only] on marriage equality:

"It was disgusting to see adults trivialize marriage by bickering about benefits for gay couples while the rights and interests of children in the marriage of their mothers and fathers were being thrown under the bus. Children have a right to know and be cared for by their mothers and fathers, and government has an obligation to promote the recognition of that right by encouraging men and women to marry before having children. But 'marriage equality' says it should be discriminatory to promote marriage between a man and a woman as having any unique value or benefit for children and society. That is a lie."

Gay folks don't want to do anything to hetero marriage. Hetero marriage, in fact, produced the LGBT community, so why would we work against it.
We just want the right to marry, and to have children, and prove that children needs loving parents, parents, of either gender or combination thereof, or a single loving parent.
Children need to be parented.

Herman Cain, effectively ending his run for president by saying he'd take the VP slot--for anyone but Mittsy--though he says what he really wants to do is dance, er, be Secretary of Defense:

"It depends upon who's asking and the conditions in which they would like for me to do it. First, I would want to know clearly what my role would be. Secondly, if we are ideologically and idea-wise so far apart, I couldn't do that, because I believe the vice president should be a spokesperson for the president."

So, you're running for president, and you keep saying you'll be elected president, but now you're saying you'll take some other job.
Yeah, that's presidential.

Mark Driscoll, "pastor" of Seattle's Mars Hill Church, "who says masturbation is gay, that yoga is the Devil's handiwork, and now says he wants to create a "muscular Christianity" which demands that young men assault one another to prove their faith:

"Jesus said both to turn the other cheek and to bring a sword to defend oneself. So let’s not simply quote one thing he said as if it were the only thing he said. Furthermore, quoting Bible verses against assault or persecution is not appropriate in regards to MMA, because such verses do not refer to a regulated sporting competition governed by rules where two athletes of similar size and skill agree to a competition. It would be akin to telling a Christian hockey player they could never check anyone into the boards, or a soldier at war or police officer in a crisis to turn the other cheek. Good verse, wrong application."

So, masturbation makes you gay.
Yoga is akin to Devil worship.
Now you want beefy hot Christians to prove their faith by doing battle.
God is not happy with you Mark. She wants you to zip it.

Diane Feinstein, acknowledging the temporary end of the campaign to repeal DOMA:

"Virtually any advance in civil rights or any kind of rights has been carried by the Democratic Party. It’s just a fact. So, we’ll just march on. We’ll continue this. And if I have to reintroduce it next session, I’ll reintroduce it. Session after that, I’ll reintroduce it."

It's all a process.
Nothing happens overnight.
We need to stick together and stand together.
But it will get done.

Jennifer WeissNorth Carolina Democratic representative, on the Republicans who are supporting North Carolina's proposed anti-gay marriage amendment:

“The bottom line is…there’s a special place in hell for [these] people. It’s bad enough to believe in something and pursue something because you think you’re on the side of good or though you might be misguided but you are following your conscience, but when you think something is wrong and you vote for it out of political expediency, that’s even worse in my book and we saw that here.”

If all politicians followed the 'party line' then nothing gets done.
We need our politicians to vote the law, not their religion or their conscience.

Brad Pitt, clarifying his earlier statement that he would retire from acting when he's fifty [in three :::gasp::: years] and then talking about aging:

“I wasn’t actually putting an exact deadline on my expiration date, but I see it coming. I just have other interests and I do quite enjoy the production side....Me, personally I like aging. With age comes wisdom and I have said it before and I say it again, I will take wisdom over youth any day. I think certainly, being a father has changed everything for me as far as perspective and interest, taking care of myself and wanting to be around for them.”

There is so much I could say about this, like, it's nice to have such a strong sense of self and of growing older, and of adapting to changes in life.
But all I keep thinking is, 'Brad Pitt will be fifty soon!!??'

Herman Cain, again, on how we can't strike against Iran, cuz they gots mountains:

"If you look at the topography of Iran, where are you going to strike? It’s very mountainous. That’s what makes it very difficult. Secondly, that would be a decision that would need to be coordinated and discussed with our friends in that part of the world like Israel. But for the United States to unilaterally go in and attack Iran to try and stop them, I would want to consult with the intelligence community, the commanders on the ground in that part of the world, which I have stated before. But we should — I don’t have all the information necessary to make that decision."

I wonder if he knows the topography of Izzy-izzy-becky-becky-stan-stan?
Cuz, I think it's flat, so we should go to war there.

Maggie Gallagher, lying, and playing the victim:

"It's becoming increasingly clear that the gay rights movement, the gay marriage movement, really does believe you're like a racist if you think marriage is the union of husband and wife. They want to rip Genesis out of our Bibles."

Maggie, you effing liar.
I don't think you;re a racist if you believe in one-man-one-woman marriage.
i simply believe you're wrong.
And, as for that whole Bible thing, perhaps you should actually read all of it, not just the parts that suit your dimwitted worldview, and see how marriage has evolved there.
Learn something, or STFU.

I Didn't Say It........

Mark Morford, San Francisco Chronicle columnist, on the avalanche of major companies backing the repeal of DOMA:
"Are you not furious, righteous Republican homophobe? I bet you are. I bet you're dialing your angriest, most confused buds right this moment to write letters, post barely punctuated rants to the hate forums on Free Republic, call in to Rush to demand a Tea Party-wide boycott of every single one of these sicko companies. I mean, you can't really call yourself a true American, a real Christian and still openly wear Nikes or Levi's, use Microsoft or Google, or watch Warner Brothers movies, can you? If you really walk your anti-gay talk, well, every one of these companies should be banned from your life, right?"

Hee hee.
It's funny, cuz it's true.

Brett Ratner, "apologizing" for using a gay slur during an audience Q&A, when he said, 'Rehearsal? What’s that? Rehearsal’s for fags.':
“I apologize for any offense my remarks caused. It was a dumb way of expressing myself. Everyone who knows me knows that I don’t have a prejudiced bone in my body. But as a storyteller I should have been much more thoughtful about the power of language and my choice of words.”

I am so sick of people saying the word 'fag' as some sort of derogatory slur, or when they can think of another word for stupid. [Sidenote: I suggest Ratner, as in, 'Rehearsal's are for Ratner's.']
And then these Ratner people release a statement where they tell us that they have gay friends and everyone who knows them knows they aren't homophobes.
Guess what? We don't know you aren't a homophobe, or Ratner-esque. We go by what you say, and what you say is Ratn....stupiud.

Larry Kramer, on his perception that the LGBT community needs to learn to fight back:
"At the height of the Holocaust, when Jews were being shoveled into the ovens by the trainload, a great woman by the name of Hannah Arendt, who was a political philosopher – Jewish, obviously, and German – said, in essence, to all of the Jews in the world, 'Why are you allowing this to happen? Where is your army?' She thought the Jews should actually have their own army, which was an unbelievable thing for a woman to say. And, in essence, she was saying, 'You brought all this on yourselves. You get what you deserve. You're not fighting back. And you've never fought back, ever, in your whole history.' And I say that about us, too. People don't want to hear it."

You can't sit silently by and "hope" it'll get better.
You have to stand up, stand for something, say something, do something.
Otherwise, you'll get what you put out. Nothing.

Mark Driscoll, the "pastor" who claimed that male masturbation is gay, because it's the same thing as having sex with a man, now says that yoga is the Devil's handiwork:
"Whether they know it or not, Christians who engage in yoga are participating in a religious expression that is antithetical to Christianity. The result is often an unguarded spirit that is susceptible to the many lies of Satan and a slow, almost unperceivable degradation of faith and Christian truth in one’s life. The act itself is a worship act. Subsequently, it cannot be done in a way that is not spiritual."

Wow.
I can't Choke The Chicken, Spank The Monkey or do Downward Facing Dog?
I'm screwed.
But in a good way.

Gretchen Whitmer, Michigan state Senator, reading the GOP the riot act over passage of a "bullying" bill that was gutted so heavily that it actually creates "a blueprint for bullying":
"You may be able to pat yourselves on the back today and say that you did something, but in actuality, you're explicitly outlining how to get away with bullying. Your exceptions have swallowed the rule. As passed today, bullying kids is okay if a student, parent, teacher, or school employee can come up with a religious or moral reason for doing it....There are at least 10 Michigan children in the past decade whose deaths are directly attributable to bullying...Had this bill that you're going to pass today been law in effect while they were alive, how many of their deaths would have been prevented? ZERO!....In fact not only does this not protect kids who are bullied. It further endangers them by legitimizing excuses for tormenting a student. And the saddest and sickest irony of this whole thing is that it's called 'Matt's Safe School Law'. And after the way that you've gutted it, it wouldn't have done a damn thing to save Matt!....This is worse than doing nothing! It's a Republican license to bully."

And now it looks like her rant has paved the way for the bill's wording to be changed.
Bullying is bullying, whether you're Christian or not.

Sergio Viula, Brazil's "ex-gay" leader, on how there is no such thing as "ex-gay":
"Today I know that I was deceiving myself. But back then, I thought that every sentiment or attraction was a mere case of ‘temptation’ and that it could be overcome with prayer and dedication to god. In the group, we used to think, basically speaking, that being gay was a sin, which should be confessed and abandoned and, therefore, we would proselytize, counsel, pray, preach, recommend certain books, read the Bible – things that believers usually do, but focusing on homosexuality itself; unfortunately, always demonizing homogenic love. Nobody really quit being gay. There were relationships even within the group, between an activity and another, they would always find time for that."

You can Pray Away The Gay, or Gay Away The Pray.
We're here, we're queer, pray for something you can actually change.
Like a bigoted mind. It worked with Sergio Viula.

Brian BrownNOM president, on the Michigan state Senate's recent passage of a bill that allows bullying if it's done with a "religious or moral" purpose:
"Are some major political players openly now asserting that protecting gay children from bullying—a worthy goal—requires giving the government the right to prohibit thoughtful and civil expressions of religious or moral viewpoints? What would become of our democracy if we accepted this reckless premise? I hope Michigan's effort to civilize children by repressing bullying becomes a landmark of a new effort to genuinely address the legitimate concerns of parents—including parents with gay teens—without heavy-handed use of government power to repress and exclude Christian views on sex and marriage."

Shut up, Brian,
You've been served.
See, perhaps a gay kid could justify bullying a Christian kid for a good and moral reason. How would you feel about that you dimwitted hack?

Stephen Colbert, on that Bullying Is Okay If Jesus Says So bill in Michigan:
"It is well known that the homosexual agenda is just an insidious plot to prevent gay teenagers from dying...The point is, bullying is just fine as long as you get a permission slip from God. With this amendment to the law, if you're a Michigan Christian teenager giving a gay kid a swirlie, you can just say it's a baptism."

The Gay Agenda is, as anyone who is LGBT or LGBT-friendly knows, equality.
That's all.
Just treat us like you'd treat everyone else, only, we're kinda hoping you treat everyone as you'd want to be treated.

I Didn't Say It........

Zachary Quinto, writing on his website of how Jamey Rodemeyer's suicide as the result of bullying, was the impetus for his own public coming out:
"when i found out that jamey rodemeyer killed himself - i felt deeply troubled.  but when i found out that jamey rodemeyer had made an it gets better video only months before taking his own life - i felt indescribable despair. i also made an it gets better video last year - in the wake of the senseless and tragic gay teen suicides that were sweeping the nation at the time.  but in light of jamey's death - it became clear to me in an instant that living a gay life without publicly acknowledging it - is simply not enough to make any significant contribution to the immense work that lies ahead on the road to complete equality.
our society needs to recognize the unstoppable momentum toward unequivocal civil equality for every gay lesbian bisexual and transgendered citizen of this country.  gay kids need to stop killing themselves because they are made to feel worthless by cruel and relentless bullying.  parents need to teach their children principles of respect and acceptance.  we are witnessing an enormous shift of collective consciousness throughout the world.  we are at the precipice of great transformation within our culture and government.  i believe in the power of intention to change the landscape of our society - and it is my intention to live an authentic life of compassion and integrity and action.  jamey rodemeyer's life changed mine.  and while his death only makes me wish that i had done this sooner - i am eternally grateful to him for being the catalyst for change within me.  now i can only hope to serve as the same catalyst for even one other person in this world.  that - i believe - is all that we can ask of ourselves and of each other.

'Nuff said, eh?

Allan HubleyKanata South Councillor, on his son Jamie's suicide:
"Recently, when Jamie tried to start a Rainbow Club at his high school to promote acceptance of others, the posters were torn down and he was called vicious names in the hallways and online. We had meetings with officials at the school and were working with them to bring an end to it but Jamie felt it would never stop.
We will not say that the bullying was the only reason for James’s decision to take his own life but it was definitely a factor. As his family and friends or even if you never met him but want to help, we must do whatever we can to wipe out bullying for any reason in our society and especially in our schools. Young people are very vulnerable and have enough pressures in life to have to deal with aside from the stress of being bullied. My family’s wish is that no more families have to suffer the unbearable pain of losing a child. No child should have to deal with depression or feel hated because of their beliefs – that is not the Canadian way of treating others."

How horrible to lose a child, but far worse when you realize that one of the factors that lead to Jamie's suicide--the bullying--could have and should have been stopped.
Schools need a Zero Tolerance policy on bullying.
Bully someone and you're out.
That's it.

Kelsey Grammer, on how he feels about the Tea Party stance on gay marriage:
"I wouldn't sign on to that. Absolutely. I played several [gay characters]. I guess I'm more Libertarian in that way. I think marriage is up to two people that love each other. And if you find the church that you want to get married in you go right ahead ..In my mind the state of marriage is something that has been endorsed by the idea that it is a sacrament within the context of a faith...the word marriage comes out of the religious side of our experience and our history. So I tend to think our government shouldn't be involved in any way..."

Kelsey's kind of a right-wing douche, but he knows how his bread is buttered.
He works in an industry populated by LGBT men and women, and to come out as a marriage-equality hating teabagger would serve him no good at all.

Kelly Clarkson, on stalking Adele:
"I want to stalk Adele so she'll sing with me. I love her voice and I really want to sing with her. She knows that. We were on 'Divas' together and I cornered her in her room and said, 'I really want to sing with you!' I just love her voice. I saw her performance on the VMAs and the EMAs. All these performers came out and did a great job, but then this girl comes out and she's just standing there with a microphone and there's a piano and she just kills everyone! She was the most memorable act of the night. She's just so talented."

I dunno about the rest of you, but I think Kelly and Adele would sound great together.
That's an album, er, that makes me sound old.
That's a CD, er, again....old.
That's a download I'd do.
And that just sounds nasty.

John Smid, former head of Exodus International, on "ex"-gays:
"So often people will say someone needs to 'repent' from homosexuality. It is something that actually cannot be repented of! People are, or they are not, homosexual. It is an intrinsic part of their being or personally, my being. One cannot repent of something that is unchangeable. I have gone through a tremendous amount of grief over the many years that I spoke of change, repentance, reorientation and such, when, barring some kind of miracle, none of this can occur with homosexuality."

Take that, Missus and Missus Bachmann.

Randy Thomasson, anti-LGBT activist and 'Save California' head, on the fact that the effort to repeal SB48 [aka the LGBT History Bill] won't make the ballot this year:
"The government's schools are no longer for the parents. They're anti-parent. I believe in God's schools and the Devil's schools, and if you want your children in God's schools, you've got to get them out and put them into home schooling..."
Schools that teach the accomplishments of, or contributions to society made by, LGBT people are Devil Schools, while schools that refrain from mentioning any LGBT people are God's schools?
Oh, Randy, you douchenozzle, you got it backwards.

Duncan Hunter, GOP congressman, on how The Gays will take over the military:
"This is exactly what we knew would happen. We’re not especially clairvoyant, we can’t see into the future, but the homosexual lobby isn’t simply pressing to have equal status in the military with people that are heterosexual. They would like a military takeover by the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender community, and that’s what they’re going to keep pushing for until it happens."

Yes, our plan is to take over the military so we can turn it into the biggest Circuit Party in the world.
I mean, what else does Duncan think we do in the military?
Fight wars? Protect America?
Silly Duncan.
We just wanna get laid.

Betty White, on being a gay icon:
“Throughout my career, I've always portrayed characters that were humorous, but also weren't afraid to speak their minds, especially when it came to racy or controversial topics. I think this struck a chord with the LGBT community. We both also share a very strong love for animals. When you combine the two, it's a very strong match.”

Well, yes, we does likes our strong funny ballsy brash women who say whatever they want. But, Betty, i think it boils down to the fact that you are simply faboosh!

David PocockAustralia rugby union player, on his support of marriage equality:
"I don't see what the big deal is with the whole gay marriage debate in Australia. Being brought up in a Christian home and still identifying as Christian, I get pretty annoyed with the Christian lobbies around the world who say gay marriage destroys the family and all that kind of rubbish. They claim to follow someone who always stood up for the oppressed and marginalised. I guess it is a fear of the unknown - if you talk to someone who doesn't like gay people you can almost guarantee that they don't know too many. These are the prejudices that you have to challenge and break down. Emma and I decided not to get legally married until our gay friends could do the same."

He's right you know.
Real Christians wouldn't have a problem with marriage equality, because they know that two men, or two women, marrying, doesn't affect their marriage.
it's just love.
And how is that suddenly unChristian?

Sally Kern, Oklahoma political asshat, telling Christian radio that The Gays might kill her:
"I have to be honest with you Rick, when I was sitting there in my car that day and when she told me that those emails were coming from homosexuals, honestly, fear gripped by whole body, because I was very aware of the homosexual lobbyists and the power that they have. And people say, ‘oh you’re so brave, so heroic,’ but I’m not, I’m just a sinner saved by grace and I was gripped with fear that day. I just said, ‘Lord, what have I done?’ It entered our mind but honestly, and I mentioned this in the book, the Saturday night when my husband and I sit down and really talked about this and prayed about it, when we asked ourselves the question, are we willing to even lose our lives over this?"

Oh, Sally.
The Gays don't want you dead, we want you enlightened.
Failing that we just want you to shut your bigoted homophobic yap and stop spreading lies.
Is that so wrong?

Mark Driscoll, "Pastor" of Seattle's Mars Hill Church, who says masturbation makes one a homosexual:
"Masturbation can be a form of homosexuality because it is a sexual act that does not involve a woman. If a man were to masturbate while engaged in other forms of sexual intimacy with his wife then he would not be doing so in a homosexual way. However, any man who does so without his wife in the room is bordering on homosexuality activity, particularly if he's watching himself in a mirror and being turned on by his own male body."

Good news!!!
Everybody's gay!!!
Pride is gonna be a blast next year!!
