I Didn't Say It ...

Al Franken, on _____:

"Well, it finally isn’t funny anymore—the grandiosity, the ignorance, the cruelty, the bullying, the racism, the petty insults and incessant stupidity. But especially the non-stop lying. The greatest asset that a president can bring to a crisis is credibility. On Day One of his presidency, Donald _____ chose to pick a fight with the media about the size of his inaugural crowd … The very next day, Kellyanne Conway let Americans know of the existence of something called “alternative facts.” Oh. So, that’s how it’s going to be, huh? Since then, the lies have come so fast and furious that keeping track has been impossible. How do you remember the last one when three or four equally ridiculous lies are almost certain to follow that day? ‘Don’t take him literally,’ his supporters insisted. ‘Take him seriously.’ Really? Well, no. What they really were saying was how happy they were that he would be appointing pro-life, pro-corporate Federalist Society judges, cutting taxes to benefit the wealthy, undoing regulations to help corporations exploit their employees and destroy our environment, and pulling us out of the Paris Agreement and the Iran Nuclear Deal. That the President of the United States is a malignant narcissist who could allow no fact to stand that contradicted his insatiable need for self-aggrandizement has been of little concern to establishment Republicans. The stock market was climbing. They were getting richer. And they had cover from the right-wing media to fool enough of his base into believing his limitless dishonesty. At this year’s State of the Union, the First Lady bestowed upon Rush Limbaugh the Presidential Medal of Freedom, an honor he now shares with Mother Teresa, Cesar Chavez, and the crew of Apollo 13 …  Until this crisis, _____ has paid no real price for his constant, pathological mendacity. Before politics, the man had spent his entire career in a business where, evidently, there was no accountability for inveterate lying. But for this crisis there is accountability. And instead of leading, Donald _____’s focus has been where it always has been—on Donald _____. ‘I give myself a ten out of ten.’ ‘We are very close to a vaccine.’ ‘I don’t take responsibility at all.’ ‘Anybody who needs a test can get a test. And the tests are perfect. Like the letter was perfect. The transcript was perfect.’ Of course, no leader could have prevented the devastation that this virus has and will continue to exact. But because _____’s focus has been on himself, his reelection, and his fragile self-image, our federal government squandered our most valuable commodity. And the amount of suffering which that lost time will cost our nation is as tragic as it is unknowable. _____ will not step away. He will continue to take the stage and our focus—but he will not be able to claim the credibility he never earned. We are left to proceed despite our president and find the leadership we need elsewhere. From governors and mayors and other civil servants. From health care professionals and scientists and economists. From community leaders and each other. It is time for each of us to step up and fill the vacuum at the top—first by staying home. And for those fortunate enough to weather this storm financially—to help those who cannot. Lest we forget _____’s Houdini-like ability to escape the traps he’s set for himself, it is also time for us to commit to his defeat in November. For now, find a way to do that from home. But when it’s time to come out into the light, it must be our collective mission to make this godawful human being pay the price for every lie he has ever uttered."

Word.
Dr. Anthony Fauci, on how he convinced _____ to push social distancing guidelines for another 30 days:

“We felt that if we prematurely pulled back, we would only form an acceleration or a rebound of something, which would have put you behind where you were before. And that’s the reason why we argued strongly with the president that he not withdraw those guidelines after 15 days but that he extend them—and he did listen. We made it very clear to him that if we pulled back on what we were doing and didn’t extend them there would be more avoidable suffering and avoidable death. We showed him the data. He looked a the data and he got it right away. … It was a pretty clear picture. He looked at them and he understood them and shook his head and said, ‘I guess we gotta do it.'”

It’s funny that _____ was the only person in this country, aside from Fox news and their zombies, who actually needed this to be explained.
John Oliver, on the _____ administration’s incompetence in dealing with the crisis.

“COVID-19 continues to rip around the globe … and the president has only recently seemed to realize the gravity of the situation. … As recently as a month ago, he was saying we have it ‘very much under control,’ adding, ‘Stock market starting to look very good to me!’ before abruptly shifting gears to claim that he ‘felt it was a pandemic’ long before it was called one. On Tuesday, our ‘wartime president’ seemed to already be considering giving up the fight and encouraging everyone to go back to work. The date he’s setting is just two weeks from now, which is objectively way too soon. Although if you are going to pick a holiday to break a quarantine, you could do a lot worse than one honoring the time that Jesus was supposed to stay inside, and didn’t. It’s worth taking a moment to appreciate just how irresponsible that attitude is. Because we wasted so much time that we could have spent preparing, the virus is now widespread, and thanks to how we have massively botched the rollout of testing the virus, we still don’t know exactly how bad things are. So strict social-distancing measures are our best shot at slowing this outbreak. I’m in no way minimizing the economic suffering caused by the shutdown. But the idea that people should sacrifice themselves for the economy is absurd. And yet, it actually gained traction this week. You get that the coronavirus is not The Hunger Games, right? You can’t volunteer yourself as tribute. And what you’re doing is actually much darker: You’re actively volunteering others, including people of all ages with health conditions, to die. And even if these guys are okay with letting the coronavirus kill as many people as it feels like so that the economy’s protected—which, again: really?!?—there are—and I cannot believe I have to say this—significant drawbacks to hundreds of thousands of people dying. This was always going to be hard. But it actually didn’t need to be this hard. And that is why it’s so profoundly disheartening that we’re being led through this crisis by a man who may be less equipped to deal with this historical moment than anybody in recorded history.”

_____ was never able to handle this because he couldn’t make this about him, about how great he is, or about how the media is mean to him, or about how much money we’ll make off this.
All he knows is how to make his name the topic of conversation, and now this damned virus is running the news cycle and he can’t stand it.
Dr. Michael Brady, medical director for Britain’s Terrance Higgins Trust, urging gay men not to hook up during the pandemic:

“I’ve never been an advocate of promoting abstinence, but this message is not about protecting your sexual health: it’s about protecting your general health and those around you from a virus that can be deadly. This advice means that, unless you have sex with someone within your household, it’s important to find sexual pleasure in other  … This isn’t just to protect ourselves against the coronavirus but also to protect the most vulnerable in our society. The virus can be passed on through direct contact with saliva or mucus, so this would include kissing. The COVID-19 virus has also been found in the feces of people who are infected so rimming may also be a risk for infection. There is no risk of passing on coronavirus through masturbation and there’s plenty of evidence that shows masturbation can relieve stress and anxiety. If you use sex toys, make sure you wash them and your hands with soap for at least 20 seconds before and after.”

Brady noted that although there is no evidence of COVID-19 spreading sexually, it can be transmitted through any physical contact within six feet.
Luckily I don’t hook up, well, except with one other person, but did he have to look so bald and hot and tell me to masturbate?
Just sayin’, Carlos, when the door is locked …
Jair Bolsonaro, Brazilian President, proven to be more of an asshat about COVID-19 than _____:

“The Brazilian needs to be studied. He doesn’t catch anything. You see a guy jumping into sewage, diving in, right? Nothing happens to him. I think a lot of people were already infected in Brazil, weeks or months ago, and they already have the antibodies that help it not proliferate.”

I don’t wish the virus on anyone, but if I did, Bolsonaro would top that list.

I Didn't Say It ...

Shep Smith, Fox News, on the Michael Flynn plea agreement:

“The list of people who lied is getting longer and longer. That this is a ruse, that this is fake news—is a lie.”

Even Fox News, well, one person at Fox News, knows _____ is lying.
Billy Bush, in a New York op-ed Times, on _____’s new claim that the Access Hollywood PussyGate tapes aren’t real:

“Of course he said it. And we laughed along, without a single doubt that this was hypothetical hot air from America’s highest-rated bloviator. Along with Donald Trump and me, there were seven other guys present on the bus at the time, and every single one of us assumed we were listening to a crass standup act. He was performing. Surely, we thought, none of this was real. We now know better.”

The Fat Bastard has yet to respond probably because he’s reliving his pussy groping moments.
Dianne Feinstein, on building a case for obstruction of justice against _____:

“I think we see this in the indictments, the four indictments and pleas that have just taken place, and some of the comments that are being made. I see it in the hyper-frenetic attitude of the White House––the comments every day, the continual tweets. And I see it, most importantly, in what happened with the firing of Director Comey and it is my belief that that is directly because he did not agree to lift the cloud of the Russia investigation. That’s obstruction of justice.”

I cannot wait for this long national nightmare to be over.
Resist. Vote Blue.
Gloria Estefan, accepting her Kennedy Center honor, and on how she feels that _____ did not attend:

“People here think you can never lose this, but you can lose this. We all have to stand up for what this country is, for its values. [And] I’m thankful he chose not to come. All it does is overshadow the accomplishments of people who spent a lifetime trying to do something.”

We won’t lose this because we can and will turn this around.
Barack Obama, former, fabulous, president, responding to Akkai Padmashali, a transgender activist who runs the LGBTQ advocacy organization Ondede, who asked how she could make a difference in an anti-transgender world—specifically India’s Section 377, a law criminalizing homosexual acts that was reinstated in 2013:

“I think the answer is, it begins with what you just did, which is to find your voice and be able to articulate your views and your experiences, and tell your story. And that’s true of any group that is marginalized, stigmatized. Finding that voice, and being able to tell a story so that the perceptions somehow that you are different are broken down, because they start seeing their experiences in you. They see your humanity. Once that voice is there, hopefully others join you. So now you have networks, and organizations, and allies. And then, once that happens, it’s a matter of applying political pressure and being able to mobilize public opinion. Now, there is just an open acknowledgement, even among many conservative parties, that we should not be discriminating against persons because of sexual orientation. And that happened, in respect to human history, amazingly quickly. Now, in the span of one person’s lifetime, that can seem painfully long. But it requires a steady education of the public, and then a political strategy that puts pressure on elected officials, and that’s going to take some time.”

I miss him.
Al Franken, Democratic Senator from Minnesota, resigning in the wake of sexual assault allegations from multiple women:

“I am well aware…there is irony that I am leaving while a man who has bragged on tape about assaulting women is in the Oval Office and a man who has repeatedly preyed on young girls is running for Senate with full support of his party.”

I hate to see him go, but you cannot demand that the Fat Bastard be ousted, or Roy Moore not elected, and then let a Democrat slide.
Harassment is harassment is harassment.

Random Musings

As women all over the country continue to speak up about rampant sexual harassment and assault by powerful men, one women takes the Low Road: Kellyanne Conway.

During Conway’s interview at Politico’s Women Rule event with Anna Palmer, a woman in the audience wanted to know why Conway continued working with _____ given his record toward women, and Conway’s’ response was perfectly suited to her boss:
HECKLER: Kellyanne, your boss grabs women—
PALMER: Excuse me, we’re going to have a—I just want to say—
CONWAY: She just wants to go viral. [To heckler] But just remember, you didn’t get the question out of your mouth.
HECKLER: I got the question out of my mouth. Your boss grabs women by the pussy! Why do you work for him?
CONWAY: [to the host] By the way, you don’t have to remove her on my account. I very much believe in the First Amendment. And I think anybody has a right to sound like a complete jackass if they’d like to.
AUDIENCE: [boos and hisses]
Yes, Kellyanne Conway, who has spoken of her own issues of sexual harassment calls a victim a “jackass,”

No wonder people call her Cuntway.
Hooray for Austria!

This week the country's top court ruled that same-sex couples can marry:
"The Constitutional Court nullified with a decision on December 4, 2017 the legal regulation that until now prevented such couples from marrying."
Still, The Gays cannot marry until December 31, 2018.

But the march goes on …
As a person who hates bugs—Carlos is the Bug Killer at our house while I do snakes—this news makes my stomach turn:

If spiders worked together they could eat all human beings in a year.

At the moment—cuz that could change if these critters start talking to one another—spiders mostly eat insects, although some of the larger species have been known to snack on lizards, birds and even small mammals. But “experts said that if you add up the weight of all the food eaten by the world’s entire spider population in a single year is more than the combined weight of every human on the planet.”
I need to join the space program and get off’a this planet before the spiders unite!
It was a couple of weeks back when the Fat Bastard took to Twitter to kvetch and moan and snivel about not being chosen as TIME’s Person of the Year while still trying to pretend that he wasn’t interested in the award:
“Time Magazine called to say that I was PROBABLY going to be named “Man (Person) of the Year,” like last year, but I would have to agree to an interview and a major photo shoot. I said probably is no good and took a pass. Thanks anyway!”
And, of course, TIME came for him, pointing out that the “phone call” story was a lie and said the finalists weren’t going to be released until much later. And so now, here’s your TIME Person of the Year:

I wanna see _____’s head implode when he realizes he was beaten by women … again.

Not that it can explode since it’s empty.
And just a quick note to The Deplorables….

Hillary Clinton DID NOT Lie to the FBI. Hillary Clinton DID NOT collude with a hostile foreign government.Hillary Clinton DID NOT get Indicted.Hillary Clinton did not Plead Guilty to a crime.

That was Michael Flynn.

Lock him up.
David Ermold was one of the gay men—with David Moore, below—who was denied a marriage license by Kim Davis in Rowan County, Kentucky a couple of years ago, and now he’s challenging her for her job:

“I am running to restore the confidence of the people in our clerk’s office and because I believe that the leaders of our community should act with integrity and fairness, and they should put the needs of their constituents first. My commitment to Rowan County is to restore professional leadership, fairness, and responsibility to the clerk’s office. I will build upon the successes of the past, and I will seek solutions for the challenges we may still face.”
Davis announced she was running for reelection last month but now maybe she’ll be once again given another smackdown by The Gays.
Again, a_____ controversy, this time his endorsement of a pedophile to the Senate, his Tax Scam, his reversal of decades of policy on Israel, and his opening up of protected national treasures to drilling and mining have the press corps frothing at the mouth to answer questions.

But reporters arriving at Air Force One in Utah on Monday quickly learned that White House officials were not going to allow on-the-record questions on any of it when White House deputy press secretary Hogan Gidley refused to answer any questions on the record:
REPORTER: We have to ask the questions—
GIDLEY: I understand that, you have a job to do and so do I.
REPORTER: You’re not doing your job. Your job is literally to take questions from us. That’s the whole point of this … you can release paper statements if you want.
GIDLEY: Please tell me more about my job if I get to tell you more about yours.
That’s the _____ White House, refusing to answer to the American people.

Keep that in mind, the midterm elections will be here soon enough and we need to flip Congress. Get a Democrat as Speaker of the House, then impeach _____ and Pence for their lies and collusion and obstruction of justice and we can have a Democrat as president to represent the entire country.

Just sayin’.
Now, to be completely bipartisan, I think it’s time Al Franken step down.

If we all demand that Roy Moore not be allowed in the Senate because of things he’s done, then we need to ask the same of Franken. We cannot play party politics. If you act inappropriately you must resign.

But that’s just me … or is it?

Now, that said, Roy Moore better be forced out if he wins.
Oh, and speaking of sexual predators and accused pedophile Roy Moore, howsabout the news that Roy, the good Christian boy … cough cough …began dating his wife Kayla when she was still legally married to her first husband.

Pedophile. Predator. Adulterer. No wonder _____ backs him.
We had a free weekend of HB) a while back and I recorded the entire season of their reboot of Westworld. It’s really quite good, and not just because it features James Marsden as Teddy; Marsden is just beautiful, though, sadly, he gets killed in almost every episode.

Also, continuing their trend of hot Men is Once Upon a Time who introduced Nathan parson as a good guy or a baddie who looks good in modern clothes and a codpiece.

Just sayin’.

I Didn't Say It ...

Trevor NoahThe Daily Show host, on that idiotic photo of Ivanka ____ sitting at the desk in the Oval Office, flanked by Daddy and Justin Trudeau:

“Oh, I’m sorry, that photo shows the importance of women having a seat at the table? Your dad let you sit at his desk! That’s not a woman in power, it’s take your daughter to work day. No I mean, don’t get me wrong, it’s a lovely Instagram photo. I think she used the ‘nepotism’ filter, #WokeUpLikeThisWithARichDad. [But] what makes this really annoying is 3 million more Americans wanted a woman sitting behind that desk full-time, not just for the photo op.”

But that’s all that family is, photo ops and self-promotion.
I’d always thought Ivanka was smarter than that ... I was wrong.
Al Franken, Democratic Senator from Minnesota, on what some in the GOP are saying about _____:

“Well, there’s a range in what they’ll say, and some will say that he’s not right mentally. And some are harsher ... No, no. That’s not fair. That was cheap. There are some who I guess don’t talk to me [but] I haven’t heard a lot of good things, and I’ve heard great concern about the president’s temperament.”

Um, yeah, he’s a lunatic who hasn’t got the mental stability of a toddler.
Bryan Odell, aka BryanStars a YouTube personality, coming out as gay:

“I’ve been on YouTube for 8 years now, but this is probably the most personal video I’ll ever make. I’ve wanted to make it many times ... So, hello, my name is Bryan and I’m gay…I have not been able to say those words ever in my entire life to anybody. ... I was actually called fag a lot when I was younger, and I went to church a lot as well. And at my church they preached and taught that you go to hell if you’re gay and it was basically worse than any other crime…I grew up thinking that being different was a really really bad thing…certainly that being gay was a terrible thing…I’d say that one of the most amazing things about the past 10 years of my life is watching the world change so much. I’ve seen a president that says it’s a beautiful thing to be gay.”

It’s not a beautiful thing to be gay, it’s a beautiful thing to be your true self, and not get trapped in the hatred of the church and some backwards thinking morons.
Carlos Santana, on Adele’s sweep of the Grammys:

“I think that Adele won because she can sing, sing. She doesn’t bring all the dancers and props, she can just stand there and she just stood there and sang the song and that’s it, and this is why she wins. With all respect to our sister Beyoncé, Beyoncé is very beautiful to look at and it’s more like modeling kind of music — music to model a dress — she’s not a singer, singer, with all respect to her.”

Who knew Santana and I were thinking the exact same thing?
Trevor Noah, again, on those photos of Ivanka ____ staring longingly at Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau:

“Can you zoom into her eyes? Look at that. You can feel it. Damn. She looks like she’s ready to risk it all. She looks like she’s considering dressing up as a Syrian refugee just so Canada will take her in, like, ‘Let me in, Justin!’ And I get it, because Ivanka is an attractive, vibrant young woman, and ever since her dad became president, have you seen the troll men she has to hang out with? Look at these guys! ... Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying these guys are ugly, but they’re definitely alt-handsome.”

Alt-handsome! Perfection. And, if you’ve seen the pictures you can see that Ivanka is thinking she’s like to be Missus prime Minister of Canada instead of daughter of US President-For-Now.
