Louisiana Is For Losers

Down Loo-Zee-Anna way, Forum For Equality, a gay rights organization, called for easing the laws that now prevent a gay couple from adopting children in the state. The proposal that was quickly rebuffed by some panel members who are asshats.

Asshat Republican Frank Hoffman: "If anything, they (state marriage and adoption laws) should be strengthened. Marriage is between one man and one woman, and we need to do all we can to support that."

Then Frank left the meeting because he had plans to either resign his position midterm or hike the Appalachian Trail. That's what Republicans do.

Loo-Zee-Anna wants to keep it like it is, you know, staus quo; a married couple is defined as the :::::yawn::::: union of one man and one woman, but a single person of any gender can adopt, even if they are gay. But.......BUT......if that gay person enters into a relationship with a partner, that partner has no parental authority over the child. And to make it even more confusing, and difficult, two unmarried people living together cannot adopt a child together; if one has a child from a previous relationship, the new partner cannot have parental authority over the child.

So, in Loo-Zee-Anna, only married couples can adopt; or a single person can adopt.

Yeah, they care about children down there.
