Bobservations

In addition to Retinitis Pigmentosa Carlos also suffers from Usher’s Syndrome which affects hearing; it seems RP and Usher’s kind of go hand-in-hand. So, when Carlo uses his phone it’s on speaker and I can usually hear the conversation.

The other day I was back in our home office and heard his phone ring and could clearly hear the entire conversation. A few minutes later Carlos appeared in the office and said Bo had called; Bo is a friend and he and Carlos get together about once a week to play music.

“Bo said he can’t get together today.”

“I know.”

“You know?”

“Yes, he suggested maybe this Saturday.”

“How do you know that?”

“Sweetie, I hear everything that goes on in this house, and I see most things, too.”

“You don’t see things—”

“Don’t I? Don’t I have cameras all over the house?”

“You don’t.”

But the look on his face suggested otherwise.

This Tuxedo Says is from November 2020 and Tuxedo was over politics so … he wanted to get away from the election and took to listening to some country music, and he just doesn’t quite get it.

Iowa State Democratic Representative J.D. Scholten was as disgusted by GOP Senator Joni Ernst and her “We’re all gonna die” nonsense that he announced he will run against Ernst next year:

“After her comments over the weekend … that’s when I just said: This is unacceptable and you’ve gotta jump in.”

Hopefully, he can sound the death knell for Ernst’s time in Congress.

There is nothing like the appearance of shy pink cakes on a beach somewhere, eh?

Loretta Swit, who played Major Margaret “Hot Lips” Houlihan on seminal TV comedy “MASH,” died last week at the age of 87. For her work on “MASH” Swit was Emmy nominated for outstanding performance by a supporting actor in a comedy every year from 1974-83, winning the Emmy in 1980 and 1982.

I always loved her because Margaret wasn’t one-note; she adapted and changed year-to-year and Swit made her a character and not a caricature.

RIP Hot Lips.

Wisconsin Democratic Governor Tony Evers took aim at the White House last week when he raised a Pride flag at the state Capitol in recognition of Pride Month. It’s the seventh time Evers has raised the flag since he was first elected, and it comes as The Felon’s Regime has taken steps to eliminate protections for LGBTQ+ Americans:

“We will fight and overcome all those in every capitol and in the White House who want to erase the vast and vibrant identities, stories, and communities that make America so great.”

On the flip side Wisconsin Republicans introduced a bill earlier this year that would ban state buildings from flying flags related to religious, political or gender identities.

And for the first time ever, Pride flags will be flown at the Hawaii State Capitol throughout June, as Governor Josh Green has declared Pride Month:

“In Hawaii, aloha is more than a word, it’s a value that guides how we treat one another, with love, respect and dignity. Flying the Pride flag at our state Capitol is a proud reflection of that aloha, as well as our deep commitment to inclusion. While other places are pushing people to the margins, Hawaii is leading with compassion and courage, recognizing that our Mahu and LGBTQIA+ communities have always been a valued part of our story, and always will be.”

Ah, inclusion, such a simple idea that makes life better for everyone.

And also … in Montana the Missoula City Council approved a resolution recognizing the Pride flag as the only official flag of the city of Missoula, according to Ryan Sudbury, the city attorney for Missoula:

“Currently, there is only one official flag for the City of Missoula, and that’s the Pride flag adopted last night. There was no prior official flag.”

The resolution comes in response to House Bill 819, which GOP Governor Greg Gianforte signed into law last May which prohibits flags on state property, including public schools, that represent a “political viewpoint, including but not limited to flags or banners regarding a political party race, sexual orientation, gender or political ideology” on government property.

Sorry, Greg, love wins.

Sean Penn, who won an Oscar for starring as Harvey Milk in 2008’s Milk, spoke out about DUI hire and U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s decision to strip the name of the gay rights activist and late San Francisco Supervisor from a Navy ship:

“I’ve never before seen a Secretary of Defense so aggressively demote himself to the rank of Chief PETTY Officer.”

Oh, playing a gay man really upped Penn’s shade game!

Tuxedo has a thing where he wants to go outside and have us carry him around the yard and when he wants that, he howls. And this morning, I hear him howling at Carlos to go out, and Carlos argues back, and I’m thinking:

“You’re not going to win, sweetie pie.”

Tuxedo howls; Carlos says ‘No.’ Tuxedo howls; Carlos shouts ‘No!; Tuxedo howls; Carlos shrieks ‘Noooooo!’

And then I hear:

“Oh my god, your paws are so cold! Why are your paws so cold? Come into the bathroom and rest on the bathmat while I take a shower. It’s warm in there. And when I get done, I’ll take you outside.”

Tuxedo always wins.

For Tuxedo, the hypocrisy of the GQP smells a lot like what’s found in a cat litter box.

Prevea Health and Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers are ending their partnership after Rodgers lied about getting the vaccine and then tested positive for COVID, with Prevea saying:

“Prevea Health remains deeply committed to protecting its patients, staff, providers and communities amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. This includes encouraging and helping all eligible populations to become vaccinated.”

Rodgers also got a smackdown from the NFL after h lied, again, when he said an NFL doctor told him “it would be impossible for a vaccinated person to catch or spread COVID.” Rodgers says he doesn’t remember that doctor’s name. and so the NFL came for him, too:

“No doctor from the league or the joint NFL-NFLPA infectious disease consultants communicated with the player. If they had, they certainly would have never said anything like that.”

Aaron Rodgers is a liar, who endangered his teammates with his lies. Simple.

This week it was announced that evangelical leader crackpot Franklin Graham was scheduled for a very serious heart operation. My first thought was they were planning to install one, but this is better.

Graham had surgery after developing constrictive pericarditis, which causes inflammation and hardening of the sac surrounding the heart.

Yes, his heart has hardened. Seriously you can’t make this shiz up.

Elaine Chao, the Demon Wife of Mitch McTurtle, is the daughter of a Chinese Shipping magnate. She’s never worked a day in her life until she was appointed to a position in the Thing 45 White House as Transportation Secretary, but now she’s telling American workers it's their 'patriotic duty' to take whatever jobs are offered to them.

Note she never says employers have a patriotic duty to pay their workers a living wage because Chao is a complicit bitch.

Ingo Rademacher, a regular on “General Hospital” for the last 25 years, has been kicked to the curb for refusing to comply with the production’s vaccine mandate.

Who saw this coming … the most diverse City Council in the entire country has just seven members and is in the last place I would ever think it would be.

For the first time, most of the members—four of the seven—are racial and ethnic minorities., and also for the first time, a majority—again four—are openly LGBTQ.

And that City Council is in … wait for it … it boggles the mind … Salt Lake City, Utah.

In writing his book Betrayal: The Final Act of the Trump Show,, ABC News’ Jonathan Karl saw photos of Michael Elizabeth Pence in hiding on January 6 but he wasn’t permitted to publish them in his book because the Pence team refused to give them to him.

Karl does day that one photo shows Pence in hiding and reading a Tweet from Thing 45 attacking him:

“It kind of looks like Pence is grimacing, but you can never really tell.”

Cuz Michael Elizabeth Pence is always grimacing.

Also in LGBTQ+ news, the Navy christened its latest ship, a replenishment oiler named after slain civil rights leader, and one of my personal heroes, Harvey Milk, who served in the Navy during the Korean War and then became the first openly gay elected official in California when he was elected to the San Francisco Board of Supervisors in 1977.

The USNS Harvey Milk is the second ship in the Navy’s John Lewis class of fleet replenishment oilers, all of which will be named after notable civil rights leaders and activists.

Jhonatan Mujica, a model from Donostia-San Sebastián Spain, is a single, smoldering man who now lives in London.

Would you hit it? Yes or No.

Another Hero Has Died

I have several  heroes in my life, people who have inspired me to do certain things, but there are three I am thinking of today …

Rosa Parks, who taught me to stand up.

Harvey Milk who taught me to come out.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg who taught me to speak up.

We are at an extremely dangerous time in our country and we all need to be like these three.

Stand up for what’s right.

Come out for the sake of very one.

Speak up against those who seek to divide us.

Be like Rosa … be like Harvey … and be like RBG.

Bobservations

This morning, as he was cleaning up after breakfast a little snippet of Latino music came across the television set and Carlos began shaking his groove thang across the kitchen. I calmly walked to the phone, picked it up, and said:
“911? I think my husband is having a seizure. A Latin seizure.”
Perhaps he’s getting his dance on because we have a looong weekend getaway planned for Asheville and the Biltmore and the Grove Park Inn.

There are some planned posts, but we’ll be gone Thursday to Monday.

Play nice y’all.

Last week One Million Moms, a Southern Poverty Law Center-rated hate group, encouraged its less than a million followers to express their outrage at the Hallmark Channel because it aired a series of ads produced by wedding website Zola.com featuring a lesbian couple.

::::gasp::::

And Hallmark caved, saying the channel does not air content “that are deemed controversial.” So … hate wins?

Yeah, not so fast, because the LGBTQ+ community is no longer playing. See, same-sex marriage is not controversial, it’s legal, it’s the law, and a few days after announcing it would pull the commercial, and amidst a threatened boycott by our community and our allies, Hallmark reversed course and announced  it would be reinstating the ads and working with GLAAD to better represent the LGBTQ+ community.

One Million Moms has not commented on the move to reinstate the ads, cuz, you know, there aren’t a “million” moms they are about 100,000 and they are already looking into a new hate target.

Love wins again: all love.

I used to think Ivanka was the “good” _____ if there was such a thing.

Now, not so much. This week Complicit appeared at the Doha Forum, and instead of being interviewed by a journalist like every other member of the panel, Ivanka faked her interview using a public relation person from the State Department.

I guess Daddy’s Daughter Wife is just like Daddy.

So Jeff Van Drew, a moderate Democrat who barely won election to his first term, has switched to the GOP over the idea of impeaching the Criminal In Chief. Yeah, that’ll get you reelected, asshat. Even better to help you stay in office, many of your staffers have quit because you’re a pansy little flip-flopper.

Oh Jeff, you go on with your bad self. You pander to the criminal and the grifters and the goosesteppers and see how far it gets you.

Last March, RuPaul became the first drag queen to be honored with a star of Hollywood’s Walk of Fame and then made herstory again as the first ever drag queen to cover Vanity Fair. And now, the drag superstar, singer, author and actor has made history again after being inducted into California’s Hall of Fame.

RuPaul Charles was inducted into California Museum’s California Hall of Fame by Governor Gavin Newsom:
“There is perhaps no one person that has done more to dismantle the limiting ‘man box' we put our boys and men into that RuPaul. RuPaul [and RuPaul’s Drag Race] has simply made American media and our larger culture a more inclusive place, and he has done it with incomparable fabulousness.”
True dat. Congratulations Mama Ru.

This week construction began on a Navy ship that will named for LGBTQ+ civil rights activist and icon Harvey Milk, the first openly gay man to be elected to political office in California. Milk served in the Navy during the Korean war and came from a family with a history of serving in the Navy.

The Navy announced in 2016 that Milk’s name would appear on a ship, along with other civil rights leaders, including abolitionist Sojourner Truth and suffragist Lucy Stone.

Good news, and Harvey deserves the honor.

Barry Cole Poyner, an Elder at anti-LGBTQ+ Kirksville Church of Christ in Missouri and professor at Truman State University, was arrested last week on charges of soliciting sexual favors from male college students on Grindr.

Poyner, who goes by the screenname ‘DILF’, was nabbed in a police sting while meeting a “student” at a gas station. ‘DILF’ had told the undercover officer that he wanted to have a “sugar daddy relationship” and asked for sexual favors in exchange for filling up the officer’s, um, gas tank and giving him an Arby’s gift card.

Free gas and Arby’s in exchange for sex? Seriously? When the officer identified himself, Barry tried running but then pulled over and said he was just “trying to help” kids out … of their pants.

Poyner has been placed on suspension from both the church and the university. No word about his Grindr account, though.

Garrett Neff is an All-American Beauty model known for his early work with Calvin Klein as the face of jeans, underwear and the MAN fragrance.

Now 35, he launched his own swimwear line, KATAMA.

He’s a lot of things … classically handsome …he can rock a camelhair coat and briefs … and he’s good at hiding his junk.

He’s totes adorbs.
