Bobservations

Carlos thinks he’s funny. He’s a lot of things, sweet and smart and kind but he’s acquired taste of funny; he likes to make up jokes … like the email he sent to his friend Ellen who had a birthday last week. He wrote her a poem about aging joke and, yes, those can be funny if you’re turning forty or fifty, but when you’re turning 70+ a joke about how you started your life in diapers and you’ll be ending your life in diapers, is not necessarily funny to everyone.

Ellen was not amused—but to be fair, Ellen has no sense of humor.

But then later that same day I was purging the kitchen of things we didn’t need, don’t use, don’t want and I came across this oddly-shaped whisk; it looks like a large cone-shaped spring on a handle—perhaps a potato masher—and we don’t use it so I opted to donate it. Then Carlos saw it and said maybe he’d send it to his friend Byron who might like it as a sex toy, and I said:

“Honey. Honey. Sweetie. You’re not funny. You’re cute as a bug’s ear, sweet as all get out, and kinder than a pack of singing nuns in a Disney movie, but you’re not known for the funny.”

He put down the whisk.

Tuxedo and Max Goldberg like to sneak off for a 'nap'. Yeah, that's it......nap.

My two handsome men!

Consuelo Roca Jones. Hey, if she doesn't know I'm taking her picture, I don't get the stink eye!

And speaking of stink eye, Tallulah was giving it on the down-low when I caught her playing with Consuelo's toy.

And Ozzo, poor Ozzo. He begged not to be included on Caturday. He.Begged.

JD Vance gave a speech in which he noted that “we are about to celebrate the 25th year” of 9/11.

Celebrate? I think you mean commemorate dumbass because we are not celebrating the murders of 3,000 Americans.

Ever.

Sixteen years ago, Google pulled its search engine out of China because they chose not to submit to an authoritarian government.

Today they are renaming lakes because a fascist, sitting on the toilet at 2AM, told them so.

I have been watching Westies about New York in the 70s and the Irish and Italian mob going head-to-head. It’s good; gritty and dirty and then, of course, hot.

And by hot I mean that guy up there, Tom Brittney, who plays James, the good bad guy. He looks good in his jeans and even better out of his jeans..

Smolder.

Just as I have never called that bloated, farting, diaper-shitting, racist, rapist, pedophile, grifting criminal my president,. I will never call the Gulf of Mexico by any other name, nor will I ever call Lake Ontario anything other than Lake Ontario. And the Kennedy Center will always be the Kennedy Center.

This is all a deflection for his inept ability to fix the economy, stop a war he started for no reason, and keep us from finding out how many young children he raped on Epstein’s Island.

Flock CEO Garrett Langley thinks you don’t deserve the right to privacy so his Flock Cameras are going up everywhere to watch you, but … Langley has blurred his house in Google maps because he thinks he deserves the right to privacy.

Think on that.

Bobservations

Carlos grew up in a fairly well-to-do family; there was a maid and a housekeeper and a nanny for Little Carlos. But the way he refuses to throw anything out makes me feel like he grew up in tenement slum.

He will not get a new bar of soap for the bathtub until the current bar is so thin it looks like tissue paper. And then the other day I asked if we had any leftover chicken to make a sandwich at lunch; he told me No but said there was plenty of guacamole left from the previous night’s dinner if I wanted it.

Imagine my surprise at finding “plenty” of guacamole in the fridge. I smeared it on a single Cheez-It  and gobbled it up in a single bite.

Then I reached for the cartoon frying pan …

This is Dogs V Cats from March 2020 …

Excerpts from Ozzo's Diary:
8:00 am - Dog food! My favorite thing!
9:30 am - A car ride! My favorite thing!
9:40 am - A walk in the park! My favorite thing!
10:30 am - Got rubbed and petted! My favorite thing!
12:00 pm - Lunch! My favorite thing!
1:00 pm - Played in the yard! My favorite thing!
3:00 pm - Wagged my tail! My favorite thing!
5:00 pm - Milk Bones! My favorite thing!
7:00 pm - Got to play ball! My favorite thing!
8:00 pm - Wow! Watched TV with the people! My favorite thing!
11:00 pm - Sleeping on the bed! My favorite thing!

Excerpts from Tuxedo's diary:
Day 983 of my captivity...
My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects.

They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets. Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength.

The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape.

In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet.

Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates what I am capable of. However, they merely made condescending comments about what a 'good little hunter' I am. Bastards.

There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of 'allergies.' I must learn what this means and how to use it to my advantage.

Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this again tomorrow ... from the top of the stairs.

I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches. The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released--and seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously an idiot.

The bird has got to be an informant. I observe him communicating with the guards regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he is safe.

For now...

Tonea Nicole Miller, a 27-year-old Black woman originally from Flint, Michigan, was found dead, hanging from a tree in Gwen Cherry Park in Gladeview, Florida last month.

Authorities from the Miami-Dade Police Department initially labeled her death as a suicide involving no immediate signs of foul play while few media outlets reported on the incident ALLEGEDLY because it was classified as a suicide. Her family and community members are strongly rejecting the suicide ruling and would like her death fully investigated.

The timing of her death, occurring right around the Juneteenth holiday weekend, combined with the history of racial violence in the United States, has triggered immense pain, distrust, and public skepticism. Tonea's loved ones are demanding full autopsy results, and push for a thorough, transparent independent investigation.

Meanwhile, Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of Today show anchor Savannah Guthrie, who was kidnapped from her home in Tucson, Arizona, on February 1, 2026, is still in the news regularly.

Sounds about white.

It has been so hot and sticky around here, and not in the good way, that even the Hot Cakes are too darn hot!

After a few asshatted and blatantly racist rulings, this week SCOTUS rejected Cankles’ efforts to overturn the sexual assault AND defamation charges against him in relation to E Jean Carroll. He is still  legally a rapist.

And then … SCOTUS upheld birthright citizenship, affirming all persons born in America are U.S. citizens at birth.

But then … SCOTUS also ruled 6-3 that states can ban transgender girls and women from female sports teams.

Justice Brett “Drunken Rapist” Kavanaugh wrote the majority opinion stating that Title IX allows schools to decide sports eligibility based on biological sex.

Fuck the court.

Dear Texas … when asked about the US affordability crisis one of your Representatives, Troy Nehls, told a reporter that he will be eating lobster tails and rib-eye steaks this Fourth of July. And when asked about struggling Americans being unable to afford such a meal, Nehls said:

"Maybe the 60% of Americans don't work as hard as I do.”

In 2025, Nehls worked in Congress for 151 legislative days; in 2026, that number will be even lower. And don’t forget Nehls earned a base salary of $174,000 per year for working half the year but he works harder than you and gets full healthcare for free.

Do better Texas.

Death, Wills, Snow Days, Eggs

Well after the threat of snow and ice last weekend, which never materialized, the snow came this past weekend and made everything pretty for a couple of days. It was quiet and peaceful and c-c-c-cold way to spend the weekend and, of course, our trip to Asheville was cancelled—which I will reschedule in April for Carlos’ birthday—but it was nice.

We ran errands on Friday … we stopped by the attorney to have our wills updated which is never a fun thing to do, but its necessary.

After that we went to talk to a flooring person about changing out the floors. It’s part of the same company that built out cabinets so we stopped over at their offices and found a sign on the door. They are planning a move to a larger space so I thought that was what the sign said, but instead it said the man, Larry,  we were coming to see had suddenly passed away and the offices were closed for several days. Really shocking as we had seen him just last month at the Camden Christmas Parade and he seemed fine. We called our contractor and he said Larry had a massive heart attack last week and passed quickly.

It can all go so fast.

Switching gears … we decided to do our grocery shopping since the snow was coming Saturday and, of course, so did everyone else. Luckily, we weren’t stocking up on all the bread and milk and canned soup so those aisles were relatively calm. Then came the egg aisle and the crowd of people grabbing at the eggs. I stood back and waited until the herd thinned and noticed a woman watching a man check each and every cartoon of eggs before choosing one; finally he was done and she reached in, plucked a carton and off she went. I did the same and then Carlos and I  headed off to checkout where that same woman got in line behind me and so I said:

“I saw you watching all those vultures at the egg case and loved how you just reached in, grabbed a carton and left.”

“Honey, I’m from New York. I am not playing.”

“I’m not from New York and I’m not playing either.”

Kindred spirits.

The Girls, Rosita and Consuelo, had zero desire to step outside in the snowfall so I found an old photo of Tuxedo with snow on his head, ... doesn’t he look happy … and one of Ozzo the Pocket Dog nesting in the snow ...

And now a little Casa Bob y Carlos looking quite peaceful and lovely yesterday…

Up the driveway …

The roads were covered and quiet …

The house through the trees …

Down the driveway …

Into the backyard …

And finally the shed which I am trying to turn into a music room so Carlos can practice his trumpet at least 75 feet away from me ... I kid, or do I …

After breakfast Carlos went out into the yard and came back in and said it was nice outside. I reminded him that, yes, the sun was out and it felt warm, but it was 19-degrees which is roughly 11-degrees lower than his What The Fuck threshold.

So yesterday was peaceful and sunny and snowy, and we had a delicious Ham and White Bean soup with crusty bread, but today is back at work, then a day off, then two days working, then my usual three-day weekend.

It’s a cycle.

Bobservations

The other day Jerry Seinfeld was on Kelly Clarkson’s show and they were talking Pop Tarts and said they both loved Brown Sugar Cinnamon Pop Tarts and toasting them. Kelly said she goes straight for the toaster oven and Carlos said:

“Brown sugar in a toaster oven?”

“Not brown sugar, but a Brown Sugar Pop Tart.”

“I don’t know what that is …”

“You’ve never had a Pop Tart?”

“I’ve never even heard of them.”

Carlos has never had pop tarts … Twenty-four years in and I’m just finding this out now?

This Tuxedo & Friends Memory is from June 2016

“In Hot Cats On TV News …

It looks like Tuxedo is auditioning for Corpse # 4 on an upcoming episode of Major Crimes.

Meanwhile Ozzo will be playing Rip Van Winkle at Doggy Day Care, with MaxGoldberg in the audience. Consuelo Roca-Jones, Miss Jones to you, will be watching it all from her spot in the balcony.”

This mélange of pets always makes me smile.

Maybe I'm a tad confused but this doesn't look like the invitation to Barron’s graduation. Could it be Vonshitzinpants lied?

Yesterday Mocow Marge called up the resolution to oust Mike Johnson from the role of House Speaker and both sides of the aisle, in a rare display of bipartisanship booed Marge as she called up the resolution.

Even better—because it shows Marge to be woefully out of her depth—as she recited the measure, Republicans lined up on the House floor to shake Johnson’s hand and pat him on the back. Then they voted 359-43-7 to table Greene’s motion to vacate because, well, she’s Putin's Puppet.

Sunday morning we woke up to no power in the house. It had been raining all night, but I didn’t hear any wind or thunder so we couldn’t figure out how we were in the dark.

Carlos called the City of Camden to report the outage while I opened the blinds in the living room. I saw a utility truck on the road in front of the house next door and just then the power came back on. Then one of the utility workers came down our driveway so I met him at our front door:

“Y’all got power back on.”

“Yes, it just now came on. What happened?”

“One of the pines came down on the wire.”

“Oh, from the neighbor’s house.”

“Nope, it was y’all’s tree.”

I asked him to keep that info under his hat!

Sidenote: we had big winds roll through here last night and lost power again but I made sure we were not to blame this time!

Elizabeth Pipko, a MAGAt-loving bikini model is suiting up to support Hair Furor as a new RNC spokesperson:

“The things he’s been through have been unreal. A lot of people look at what he’s up against every day and see his real character.”

Oh Liz, stay in your lane because if you’re an RNC spokesperson, the RNC appears to be rebranding itself as an Only Fans account.

I am not a fan of the fanny pack, but I’m thinking that if this is the way you want to wear one, I might change my mind.

At the start of the same week a damning docuseries about his alleged sexual abuse is set to premiere, actor Kevin Spacey has offered up his endorsement for “loyal friend” Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s long-shot 2024 presidential bid.

Seriously. I don’t know which is more cringey … Spacey’s support or RFK’s anti-vax looney-toon candidacy.

Asking for a friend … if you’re someone who bleaches their asshole, why don’t you call it ‘changing your ringtone’?
