And Me, Without My Tiny Violin ...

Karma is a bitch and that’s why she and I get along so well ... especially in cases like this.

This week, Alt-right website Breitbart fired Katie McHugh from their “news” site after she posted this to Twitter:

Oh, and before anyone says, ‘Well, that isn’t so bad,” here’s some other things she Tweets:

Yup; racist says racist things and even Breitbart, motherf**king Breitbert, had enough and kicked her to the curb.

And, before anyone starts thinking, “Good on Breitbart for firing a racist,” remember, this is Breitbart, so they probably didn’t fire her for being racist, it was probably because no one liked working with her and this latest rant just happened to come along at the right time.

But now Katie McHugh is back on Twitter begging the public for money because she has medical bills to pay.

Yup, racist says racist things, gets fired and then asks fellow racists to help her pay her bills.

The page states:
“Katie McHugh has essential medical bills that she has to pay, while finding another job. Support Katie and send a message to Breitbart, the liberal media, and apologists for Islamic terrorism.
She is not backing down and will not apologize for telling the truth. It’s time to let the losers on the Left and on the Right know that we will support the truth tellers that they try to silence.”
So far she has raised only $642 of the $10,000 she is looking for.

Yup; racist says racist things, gets fired, does a money beg and gets a couple of coins because, well, other racists are cheap.

Karma.Bitch.

That picture of Mittsy and _____ sharing a candlelight meal looked, to me, like the most Grindr date in the world ... and, is it just me, or does anyone else think Mittsy could write a book on how a man can go from being a con man and a fraud and the worst possible candidate for president in all of history, to being the great unifier of the American people in a matter of months. Or, maybe Mittsy will write a book on how he kissed some ass to get a government job.
It’s no secret around Casa bob y Carlos that when it comes to decorating for the holidays—that’s our home this year—I become somewhat of a tyrant.

So, I made a little mash-up of who I am on Decorating Day. Look familiar?
The Holocaust Museum in Washington D.C. is reminding us, in the wake of white supremacists openly offering Nazi salutes and denigrating Jews, that “the Holocaust did not begin with killing; it began with words”:
“The Museum calls on all American citizens, our religious and civic leaders, and the leadership of all branches of the government to confront racist thinking and divisive hateful speech.”
That was the museum’s response to the meeting of the National Policy Institute, a white supremacist think tank headed by Nazi poster boy Richard Spencer, who resurrected Nazi propaganda and wondered out loud if Jews “are people at all.”

That’s worth remembering the next time you hear someone call Spencer and his ilk the “Alt-Right” because Alt-Right means white supremacists.

So, when you see these people, look them in the eye and say something because Hate will almost always look away, or scurry back into the darkness.
Last weekend Carlos and I watched Sausage Party OnDemand™. It’s an R-rated cartoon about food and, well, the very idea of a hot dog f**king a hot dog bun was high-larious.

Just sayin’.
Get ready for a _____ White House, where his children will lurk in the corners, and where President ____ will be listening to his team of advisors, riddled with white nationalists, climate deniers, and those swamp dwellers he promised to take out of politics.

So a group has started a _____ investigative fund with the goal of raising $100,000 through sales of a t-shirt.

Resist. ThinkProgress will be hard at work exposing the realities of a _____ presidency, like how he will, okay, ALLEGEDLY, use his power to grease the wheels on a construction project in Argentina that will directly enrich his own family ... on his cozy relationship with both the Alt-Right and the NRA.

If you want to help, Resist. One hundred percent of the proceeds go towards resistance.
The father of a California soldier recently killed in Afghanistan says he felt disrespected and hurt by passengers who booed him and his family when they were on a flight to meet his son's remains.

Recently, Stewart Perry, his wife and daughter were on an American Airlines flight from Sacramento to Philadelphia with a transfer in Phoenix to receive the remains of his son, Sgt. John Perry, who had died in battle.

The flight to Phoenix was 45 minutes late and the crew, fearing the Gold Star family might miss their connecting flight, made an announcement for passengers to remain seated to let a "special military family" deplane first.

Sweet, right? Kind, no?

Well, not for those passengers in First-Class who booed the announcement and complained that they paid first-class fares meaning they were the special passengers.

America in The Age of _____. Me first.
SyFy has a new show called Incorporated, set in a 2074 where corporations have seemingly unlimited power—not a stretch really .... The show centers around Ben Larson, a young executive who risks everything to infiltrate the all-controlling corporate world and save the woman he loves.

More importantly than that, is that Larson is played by Sean Teale and he.is.hot.

Just sayin’.
So, cereal giant Kellogg’s has decided to cease advertizing on ultra-conservative website Breitbart, as is their right, and released this statement:
“We regularly work with our media-buying partners to ensure our ads do not appear on sites that are not aligned with our values as a company. We recently reviewed the list of sites where our ads can be placed and decided to discontinue advertising on Breitbart.com. We are working to remove our ads from that site.”
Now, the usual suspects are crying foul, with Breitbart leading the charge:
“Kellogg’s decision to blacklist one of the largest conservative media outlets in America is economic censorship of mainstream conservative political discourse. That is as un-American as it gets.”
Freedom of Speech is un-American? Choosing when and where you advertize is un-American? Oh, Breitbart, sit down.
In high-larious news, if former CIA director and retired General David Petraeus win the heart of President-elect _____ and becomes his Secretary of State, maybe _____ can throw in a pardon as well to make the job easier for Petraeus.

See, back in 2015, Petraeus pled guilty to a misdemeanor charge of mishandling classified information—the stuff he shared as pillow talk with his mistress which, apparently the GOP has no problem with—and that would require a presidential pardon for Petraeus to assume the role of secretary of State.

In addition, Petraeus might have to get his probation officer’s permission to leave the state of North Carolina to travel for his job.

Yup. Sorry about that Middle Eastern crisis, but the Secretary of Sate is still wearing his ankle bracelet and cannot leave the house.

That’s what happens when criminals get government jobs.
Oops. It looks like North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory’s just about done.

Though he stomped his feet and demanded a recount of every single vote cast in the election—because he lost by 5,000 votes—the recount seems to show that his Democratic opponent, Roy Cooper, just broke the 10,000 vote mark, meaning that McCrory has no right to demand a recount.

You’ve been flushed, asshat.
In more high-larity from the _____ transition team is news that half-wit, has-been, half-term, Mama Grizzly Bore™ might be in line to be _____’s Secretary of the VA.

The Department of Veterans Affairs is the largest government agency, with over 300,000 federal employees and a budget of $182 billion for 2017.”

It’s crazy, I know—we all know—but I love that all this lead to Josh Barro—who recently left the GOP for our side—to Tweet:
Nothing would say "supporting veterans" like appointing a lazy dilettante to oversee their health.”
I don’t usually watch The Voice, but I have been seeing videos of Billy Gilman’s performances  online and I like what I hear.

Gilman made history back in 2000, when at age 11 he became the youngest artist to have a Top 40 hit on the country charts; his debut album went to #2 on Billboard’s Country Chart, and he followed that up with two gold albums. Then things got rocky, either because Billy’s voice changed as he went through puberty or, as he seems to see it, country music lost interest in him when rumors swirled that her might be gay:
“In recent years when I did come back to Nashville, there were rumors and whispers — is he or isn’t he? For many that know Nashville and how much I love the industry… being a gay male country artist is not the best thing. You know, if people don’t like your music, that’s one thing. But after having sold over 5 million records and having a wonderful life in the music industry, I knew something was wrong when no major label wanted to sit down and have a meeting and listen to the new stuff. I’d do a showcase in Nashville and no major label showed.”
Now Billy Gilman is out and may well be the front-runner on The Voice and, gay or straight, he deserves the shot.
Lastly, in our Tweet of the Week, comes pollster Nate Silver fact-checking ditzy blond _____ mouthpieces Kellyanne Conway’s claim that _____ won in an historic landslide:
Sit down, Kellyanne.

Random Musings

You know, last week when the Sixth Circuit Court ruled that discrimination against The Gays re: marriage was just fine, I loved the wingnuts coming out of the woodwork — the Bryan Browns, and the Brian Fishers and the Tony Perkins, and all those religiously-named Hate Groups — praising the judges on the bench for making the ‘right’ decision.

Funny, though, when the judges rule against them these asshats call them activists and unelected judges. Be careful boys, your hypocrisy is showing … again.
Speaking of rightwing loons, over there at Breitbart is a report that US Attorney General nominee Loretta Lynch should face tough questioning before the Senate over her role in the 1992 Whitewater hearings:

“The prosecutor has a long career built of some high profile cases but there is one case Lynch was involved in that few are talking about. Lynch was a part of Bill Clinton's Whitewater probe defense team in 1992.”

One slight problem though. They’re talking about the wrong Loretta Lynch. The Lynch that was part of the Clinton defense team is on the right, and Obama’s nominee is on the left.

It’s like they’re twins, right? So easy to get them confused.
Hottie of the Week: Raza Jaffrey. He played Dev on Smash before they tried to reinvent that show between seasons and now he’s Aasar Khan on Homeland. Is he a good guy or a bad guy? We don’t know; we just know he’s delicious.
Bob Geldof is putting the Band Aid back on.

It was announced this week that Geldof will re-record the iconic charity song "Do They Know It's Christmas" to raise funds to fight Ebola. And some new voices will join some of the old ones, like U2; Sam Smith, will be there; Cold-meh, er, Coldplay, too. One Direction, yawn, and the incomparable Adele.

I’d suggest letting Adele do it solo, but that’s just me.
UPDATE:  Last week I posted about several North Carolina magistrates who quit rather than perform same-sex marriages after not one, but two federal judges said the state’s ban on same-sex marriage was unconstitutional.

And now, Judge John Smith, the chief administrator of North Carolina’s courts, has told Senate leader, Republican Phil Berger, that magistrates are duty-bound to perform same-sex marriages because it’s their job; and, he added, there is no federal law or rulings exempting the asshatted judges based on their personal religious leanings.

Of course, though, Berger and some two dozen other Senate Republicans have asked Smith to revise his directive, calling  it “at best incomplete and at worst misleading” by failing to take into account constitutional religious freedoms and federal civil rights laws for workers and government employees. But Smith countered with a 1991 Supreme Court decision that he says excluded state judicial employees from the definition of protected employees on the basis of religious beliefs because they are federal employees and cannot use their religion as a discriminatory weapon.

Then, as Republicans are apt to do, like rabid stupid dogs with a bone, Berger says he’ll introduce a bill next year protecting state officials who refuse to issue marriage licenses or perform weddings for same-sex couples.

Because discrimination is perfectly okay if you couch it in religion and use it against The Gays.
So, I’m sure you’ve all heard of the “Harlem Hate Pastor, James David Manning from ATLAH [All The Land Anointed Holy] Church. He’s the man of God who said The Gays should be stoned, er, put to death.

Now, though he’s gone even nuttier. Last week he claimed that Starbucks is “ground zero” for the Ebola outbreak because, ahem, "upscale sodomites" frequent the joint, and this week he upped the ante by claiming that Starbucks is using "sodomites' semen in lattes."

He says the reason that these “upscale sodomites” and "untoward types" hang out at Starbucks because the semen "flavors up" the coffee "and it makes you think that you're having a good time drinking that cup of latte with the semen in it."

Yes. He did. And he has a church. And he has a congregation. Seriously.
More stupid people? Okay ...

Megyn Kelly, one of Fox Now’s Talking Blonde Bimbos recently introduced Fox News’s Mike Huckabee as a guest on her “news” program The Kelly File with a casual mention to his show, only she called it, wait for it, it’s perfectly suited to a wingnut like Mike, she called it Fuckabee.

Oh, but she did.
More stupid people? Okay ....

Khloe Kardashian, whom I once thought of as the smart one — not saying much for that family, I know — has sparked a bit of outrage on Instagram after posting this meme on  featuring herself and her sisters Kim and Kourtney:

Khloe simply captioned the photo, “True.” While some fans found it funny, most found it racist and offensive and called her out on it; then after it received more than 400,000 ‘likes’ — from stupid racists, ALLEGEDLY — and 26,000 comments, Khloe deleted the picture from her page.

Like I said, I once thought she was the ‘smart’ one but she’s just as big a media-whore as the rest of that lot.
So, it looks like Joan Rivers should never have died.

A new Department of Heath report on her death confirms that, while undergoing an endoscopy at the Yorkville Endoscopy Clinic, there were multiple failures in protocol which occurred after her trachea closed up while she was underwent an unauthorized laryngoscopy by her personal physician:

Rivers never signed off on that procedure, which was performed by a doctor who was not authorized to operate at the endoscopy facility.

Rivers was possibly given too much anesthetic because she was not weighed before the procedure, which is standard practice.

The facility lacked the basic medication that could have been administered to open her trachea and quickly save her life.

As a result, Joan Rivers suffered irreversible brain damage.

In addition, there were stories about someone in the room while Rivers was under anesthesia taking selfies of him/herself with the comic; Yorkville Endoscopy states that the staffer taking the photos has been fired, as has the physician who performed Joan’s endoscopy.

While I am not a person who sues, if this was my mother, I’d sue the pants off the clinic and both doctors.

Joan Rivers was 81, but she showed no signs of stopping, or, hell, even slowing down before she went in for a routine endoscopy.

Sad. Sad.
As I've said, I wake up with a song in my head every day; something old, sometimes new, sometimes something I had no idea I even knew.
This week it's The Byrd's "My Back Pages."
