GOP Dumpster Fire: Racists, Liars, Grifters and Some Good News

There’s an old saying about when someone shows you who they are, believe them; and when someone says something, openly and publicly, believe that, too, and not the spin machine that envelopes the liar afterwards.

Here are a few examples of liars, and morons, and weirdos showing us who they are …

Shares of Trump Media & Technology Group AKA Truth Social slumped to their lowest level ever last week, the first trading day that its biggest shareholder—The Felon—is free to sell his stake in the company.

And we should trust our economy to that?

The Felon wants to impose a temporary 10% cap on credit-card interest rates but is it a good idea?

While borrowers in lower- and middle-income households who carry balances would benefit the most from caps on credit-card charges they would also be the first ones that banks would stop lending to if The Felon’s cap were passed.

So, yeah, another bad idea from Mister Bankruptcy.

In recent years Republicans have made up rules or redefined existing policies to push through their agenda, remember in 2016 then-Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell refused to allow a hearing on President Obama’s nominee to SCOTUS,  Merrick Garland, by falsely claiming lying that it was a “rule,” but in 2020 McConnell rescinded the non-existent rule when The Felon nominated unqualified Amy Coney Barrett to the court.

Now, according to Senator Tommy Tuberville, there is another never-before-heard-of practice that says the Federal Reserve cannot lower interest rates before an election; and he is outraged because it’s a win for Biden and a win for the American people …

Tuberville claims this was only done, not to help the people, but to help Kamala Harris win in November and says the “nation’s central bank has no business moving rates this close to an election and is clearly trying to tip the balance in favor of Kamala Harris.”

Of note: The Felon nominated Powell, a Republican, to the chairmanship in 2018 and he confirmed in an 84-13 vote, “one of the widest margins of confirmation for a Trump nominee.”

Sorry, Tommy, you lose … you’re a loser.

Springfield City Manager Bryan Heck told the Wall Street Journal that he received a call from one of Sofa Loren’s staffers, who asked if the rumors true of pets being taken and eaten were true, and Heck replied:

“No. There was no verifiable evidence or reports to show this was true.”

But JD Vance still ran with the story and doubled down on the lie, and then even The Felon, in his disastrous cry-baby debate performance shrieked:

“They’re eating the dogs!!!”

This campaign runs on nothing; no solutions, just lies; no problems solved, just racist tropes.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr claims to be the great hope for the future of America if The Felon wins in November:

“I don’t have a post for myself that’s picked out. I know that I’m going to be deeply involved in helping to choose the people who can run FDA and NIH and CDC in a way that restores public health.”

Yes, the man who dragged a dead bear off a roadway and drove the carcass into Central Park as a joke, the man who heard about a dead whale on a beach and his first thought was to take a chainsaw and hack the whale’s face off, the man with the brain worms, is saying he’ll save America.

From himself?

During a stop in the automaking state of Michigan The Felon repeated false claims lied that Chinese automakers are putting up large factories in Mexico and vowed to slap 200% tariffs on any vehicles the un-built plants make and ship to the United States.

Facts: the tariffs would be paid for by anyone who bought a Mexican-built Chinese car.

Facts: there are no Chinese automobile factories in Mexico.

Michelle Morrow, the Republican QAnon candidate for North Carolina superintendent of public instruction, falsely claimed lied week that the “+” in LGBTQ+ indicates support for pedophilia. She used this nonsense bull shit to attack her Democratic opponent, Mo Green, for having accepted the endorsement of LGBTQ+ advocacy organization Equality North Carolina.

In case you’re unsure—and I don’t think you are—the “+” in LGBTQ+ indicates the inclusion of people whose sexual orientation or gender identities don’t fit neatly into categories like lesbian, gay, bisexual, or queer/questioning like those who are asexual, nonbinary, intersex, etc.

At the ballot box, give Michele Morrow a “-” sign.

This week Senator John Foghorn Leghorn Kennedy of Louisiana baselessly accused an Arab American witness— Maya Berry, executive director of the Arab American Institute, a nonpartisan national civil rights advocacy organization—of supporting terrorists during a Senate hearing, and as she called out his blatant Islamophobia, the GOP senator told her to “hide her head in a bag.”

That’s the GOP … racist AF.

Even though The Felon says he will have the government pay for IVF treatments, this week Senate Republicans blocked a bill that would have created a right to access IVF treatments and mandated that insurance plans cover the practice, deriding the vote as a political ploy.

It’s the GOP playing politics with women’s healthcare so … VOTE THEM ALL OUT.

Two huge advocates of Free Speech lies, Elon Musk and Representative  Marjorie Taylor Greene took to Twitter—I call it that because Elon hates that people still call it Twitter—to share a rumor that police claim an explosive device was discovered near the Long Island site where The Felon was set to hold.

Police reported the rumor of a bomb threat was not true was a lie but these two morally bankrupt asshats still ran with it because lies are all they offer.

In  another case of lies and stupidity, Sofa Loren AKA JD Vance told voters in North Carolina to start knocking on doors and posting on social media to get out the vote for The Felon because the campaign can’t count on the media or “big tech oligarchs” to help them.

Funny, though, that “big tech oligarchs” Elon Leon Musk and major venture capitalist and top Vance donor David Sacks lobbied for Vance as The Felon’s running mate.

I guess JD forgot about that. He also forgot that he begged his BFF, “big tech oligarch” Peter Thiel, who bankrolled Vance’s ascendancy to the Senate, to fund the failing GOP campaign.

The Ohio Christian Coalition, representing the Christian faith in that state, issued a scathing letter in defense of Haitian migrants in Springfield and decried the false statements lies spewed by both Sofa Loren and The Felon that Haitian immigrants in Springfield were eating pets and wildlife:

“We are disturbed and outraged by the reports that have masqueraded as news regarding many of our siblings in Springfield, Ohio. Public and prominent figures have intentionally crafted untruths that have assaulted the culture and character of Haitians residing in Springfield.”

Last week a coalition of Ohio’s Catholic bishops issued a similar letter.

Congressional Republicans in Texas will spend millions on television ads targeting Democrats for supporting pro-LGBTQ+ legislation.

The National Republican Congressional Committee unveiled its first Texas ad of the general election accusing Democrat Representative Vicente Gonzalez of pushing “sex changes for kids.”

Following suit, because he also has no real plans to offer, other than running off to Mexico when the power goes out in Texas, Raphael “Ted” Cruz unveiled his campaign’s biggest ad buy yet for two ads accusing challenger Democrat Representative Colin Allred of supporting legislation that allows men to use women’s restrooms and not knowing “the difference between boys and girls.”

Once again, the GOP runs on lies and fears not solutions and plans.

The Felon spoke this week of rebuilding “our roads, bridges, highways, and airports” even though during his last four years in office, while he promoted every other week as infrastructure week, he never had anything more that a “concept” of a plan; but then he said this:

“I used to go to school on the subway … my parents would drop me off at a subway and I’d go to Union Turnpike, or I’d go to wherever. They had no fear that I was going to be disappearing! They would take me to a subway, put me on, and say, ‘Bye darling, bye.’ If you do that today, you have about a 75% chance that you’ll never see your child again. What the hell has happened here? What has happened?”

That fat gelatinous bastard riding the subway? Bitch, please.

JD Vance, AKA Sofa Loren, claims that:

“Kamala Harris has granted mass amnesty to millions of illegal aliens. Now I happen to think what Kamala Harris has done is not just wrong it is illegal! So when Kamala Harris uses an illegal action to give amnesty to aliens, that does not make them legal immigrants, it makes them illegal immigrants unless you’ve lost all common sense.”

Someone needs to tell JD, since he longs to be Vice President, that vice presidents have no power to grant anyone amnesty, much less “millions of illegal immigrants.”

JD told us he makes up stories and here he goes again.

This week
over 700 high-ranking national security officials endorsed Kamala Harris saying they have concerns over The felon’s “scary authoritarian streak” and adding:

“Vice President Harris has all the leadership qualities needed to be a strong commander in chief. She’s prepared. She’s strategic. She’s understands all sides of an issue. We saw as much during the debate.”

The letter endorsing Harris consists of 741 former high-ranking national security officials, including 233 general and flag officers, 15 four-star generals, 10 former cabinet secretaries and 10 service secretaries as well as leaders who served in Republican administrations.

But hey, The Felon and Sofa Loren have Kid Rock and Tulsi Gabbard.

After calling it a “dangerous practice,” Kentucky Governor, Democrat, Andy Beshear signed an executive order to ban conversion therapy on minors in his state.

Beshear said attempts to alter a young person’s gender expression or sexual attractions have “no basis in medicine”—a view supported by experts in medicine and mental health but not shared by GOP Representative Josh Calloway, a Baptist preacher, who vows to “stop this governor from pushing his harmful far-left agenda on struggling kids.”

As of now  Kentucky is the 24th state to ban the ex-gay torture of minors.

Oh, and Josh? God is watching, sees your bigotry and intolerance, and She is not happy.

Former six-term South Carolina Republican Congressman Bob Inglis added his name to the growing list of Reagan- and Bush-era conservatives who will vote for Kamala Harris ; Inglis is the state’s first prominent Republican to back Harris:

“[The Felon] is a clear and present danger to the republic. He’s disqualified based on character and rationality, so I’ll be voting for Kamala Harris. I feel sorry for him. He’s really quite a sick puppy. He’s been unfaithful to three wives. Why would we, at the altar with him as the fourth, think that he’s going to be faithful to us? Talk about irrationality. He needs some help.”

Snap.

Remember, this is a party that promises but never delivers, a party of demented old men, and mascara-wearing RuPaul wannabes who hate women, the  LGBTQ+ community, immigrants, education and members of our military.

We don't need that so ...

President Daddy and His Spoiled Little Girl

Remember the time that Sasha Obama couldn’t find her favorite skirt at The Gap and the President of the United States took to Twitter to bash the retailer?

Oh you don’t remember? Maybe it’s because that only happens in a _____ White House and only when Hair Furor’s favorite thing in the world, the daughter he’d date if he wasn’t her Daddy, Ivanka, gets burned by a department store.

Yup, _____ took to social media, both as himself and, insanely, as @POTUS, to trash the Nordstrom department store chain because it dropped Ivanka’s line of overpriced, made anywhere but in America accessories and clothing line.

You know, cuz that’s what presidents do.

Six days after Nordstrom announced that, based on sales ... which were falling faster than _____’s dismal approval numbers, the chain would no longer carry Ivanka merchandise.

Of course, this is just business, you know; if a line of overpriced crap doesn’t sell, you stop selling the overpriced crap, but it didn’t stop _____ supporters call for a boycott of the stores or stop the President-For-Now from going all aTwitter from both his personal account and his official White House account:
“My daughter Ivanka has been treated so unfairly by @Nordstrom. She is a great person -- always pushing me to do the right thing! Terrible!
Seriously. With the Hate Agenda he’s trying to push forward, with all the racists and oil men and asshats and swamp dwellers and uneducated educators he wants to put in charge, Hair Furor has time to whine because his Baby Girl lost an account or two .... three .... four .... five ... Yup, in addition to Nordstrom, retailers T. J. Maxx and Marshalls, and Neiman Marcus have also dumped Ivanka’s crap.

Sean Spicer, who must lay awake nights trying to find ways to spin _____’s lunacy into something coherent [Note to Sean: you’ll never be able to do it.] said the president’s tweet was not about business but about “an attack on his daughter”:
“For people to take out their concern about his actions, or his executive orders, on members of his family, he has every right to stand up for his family.”
Um, Sean? Think again; it wasn’t an attack on Ivanka, it was a business deciding, as they have a right to, what kinds of things they will sell and opting to stop selling the items that don’t sell, i.e. Ivanka’s overpriced, made-overseas crap.

But, maybe, maybe, Nordstrom’s decision was also based on policy, because after _____ imposed his Muslim Ban, barring just Muslims from seven countries from entering the United States, Nordstrom told its employees it values immigrants and offered support to those affected by the executive order.

But, Nordstrom also made it clear to everyone, except the dim bulbs with thin skins in DC that it pulled Ivanka’s merchandise because of declining sales and that they had told Ivanka last month about it:
“Over the past year, and particularly in the last half of 2016, sales of the brand have steadily declined to the point where it didn’t make good business sense for us to continue with the line for now.”
Bye Felicia, er, Ivanka.

And it gets better ... last week, T.J. Maxx and Marshalls stores told their employees — a copy of the statement was obtained by The New York Times — to throw away signs for Ivanka _____ products and move her clothing line to the sales racks:
“Effective immediately, please remove all Ivanka _____ merchandise from features” and “all Ivanka _____ signs should be discarded.”

Neiman Marcus recently stopped selling Ivanka’s jewelry and accessories line though, for now, her clothes are still sold at Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s.

And so cue the ALLEGED backlash ... Breitbart News—news for White Nationalists—say the decision to drop Ivanka has sparked calls for a boycott of the store and a request for consumers to cut up their Nordstrom’s cards.

Breitbart claims Nordstrom’s is misleading the public as to why they dropped Ivanka, though even if these retailers ended their association with her because her father is an out-of-control tyrant isn’t that their right as a business?

One loon, who obviously is a Breitbart White Nationalist, is Brad Botwin who says:
“I am a long time Nordstrom customer and exclusively purchase my suits, shirts and ties at Nordstrom. No longer because of their punitive and political act to drop Ivanka Trump’s clothing line. I have also e-mailed Nordstrom to drop me from their special email list of events and other messages. If this organization doesn’t have the backbone to stand up to the unfair left wing pressure against Ivanka Trump, I shudder to think what next they will cave on next. Decisions like this erode the freedoms and liberty of all Americans.”
The freedoms and liberties of all Americans including businesses who have the right to do business as they choose, but nutjobs like this guy think it’s all so unfair because President-For-Now is pissy and that’s not right.

Um, yes it is, but what isn’t right, and is ridiculous, is for the man who is President-For-Now to use his official White House social media account to blast an American business because it upset his little girl.

I gotta go. I got my new Nordstrom card and I am goanna spend spend spend.

Ivanka Becomes The First ____ To Try To Make Money Off The Election

The man isn’t even in office yet and he, well, his “Special Girl,” and daughter, Ivanka, is attempting to cash in already.

After appearing alongside Daddy _____—sharing a sofa with him and his wife while his other children sat in the background—Ivanka _____ and her company, Ivanka ____ Fine Jewelry began promoting sales of a $10,000 bracelet that she wore during that "60 Minutes" interview.

A "style alert" was sent to journalists by Monica Marder, vice president of sales for Ivanka _____ Fine Jewelry promoting Ivanka’s "favorite bangle from the Metropolis Collection" on the CBS News show and urging recipients to share the news “with your clients.”

The bracelet costs $8,800 to $10,800.

Yes, cash in on the presidency; turn the White House into a jewelry showroom to make a buck because that’s what that family is about: self-promotion and making coins.

When _____ and her company were accused of trying to make money off the election results through the interview, Abigail Klem, president of the company, said  the “style alert” was “sent by a well-intentioned marketing employee at one of our companies who was following customary protocol, and who, like many of us, is still making adjustments post-election."

Making adjustments? Seriously; this is the same Ivanka ____ who Tweeted a photo of herself speaking at the RNC to sell the outfit that she wore onstage.

Klem would not comment on whether or not Ivanka was aware that the email went out in the first place.

Uh huh. And with a straight face—and how could it not be straight when it’s ALLEGEDLY lined with Botox—during that same interview Ivanka insisted that the Trump brand wasn't a priority:
"I don't think it matters. This is so much more important. And more serious …That's the focus."
Again ... uh huh.

But this kerfuffle about a bracelet being marketed during a presidential interview just underscores the many, many, conflicts of interest facing a _____ White House ...
The Emoluments clause
While Trump wouldn't have any legal obligation to sell or step away from his business interests under the Ethics in Government Act, he could face legal issues under the Emoluments clause in the Constitution, which dates back to 1787. That clause has been interpreted by the Department of Justice as banning government officials from accepting any kind of gift from a foreign entity like, for example ... a corporation owned by a foreign company that puts the _____ name on a building; that would be considered a gift and, if _____ accepts it, that could be grounds for impeachment.
And we all know how much he loves seeing his name on things.
The blind trust
President-elect _____ has said his business holdings will be placed into a blind trust with his oldest three children in charge but, as critics point out, a trust cannot be blind if you know who's running it and what assets it includes.
His Washington, DC hotel
Donald _____ recently opened a new hotel in the Old Post Office building in DC; a building owned by the federal government and leased to the _____ Organization. But the General Services Administration — which _____ is now in charge of—is in charge of the lease; yes, he’s the boss of the department that’s in charge of his lease, so what happens if there's a dispute? You think _____ will settle this in any way that isn’t in his favor?
It’s the same pay-to-play bull shiz he accused Hillary Clinton of, but, hey, if he’s making money, and his kids are making money, who cares if he breaks the law?

WTF Georgia, Part Three: Georgia Based Telecom Will Relocate Out Of Hate State

No sooner had the Georgia Senate passed its controversial, and hate-filled, bill that would enshrine into law special protections for people of faith — and members of the KKK — to discriminate against LGBT people, than the uprising began …

Kelvin Williams, right, co-founder of 373K, a telecom company based in Decatur, Georgia, Tweeted out his disgust:
"We are very saddened by the Georgia Senate which passed #HB757 also known as #FADA. It's time to relocate."
Williams is a gay man who now longer feels welcomed in Georgia:
"I'm gay, our CFO is gay, we have people from every walk of life working here. I've got Muslims, Buddhists, atheists here. We've got great Christians working for us. They've never thought of not serving anyone – that's not the message of Christ. We don't tolerate that crap."
Williams says the anti-gay bill is not good for Georgia, where the environment for businesses is also not good, so the move might be a win-win for his company.
"It's sad our state government wants to take us back in time. I wish Georgia would wake up. If you're not a white married Christian heterosexual, prepare to be persecuted."
And when he was asked if he was concerned his Tweet might lose business for 373K, Kelvin Williams said he doesn’t care; he said he chooses not to do business with those who support the legislation, whom he calls "fake Christians."

Cue the moving trucks, Georgia; the exodus has begun …

A&F: Assholes and F%kwads

I am not one to wear clothing with logos on it, so you’d be hard-pressed to find me in a Nike shirt, or Adidas, or any jean other than Levis—their tag is iconic, and also so small that it doesn’t count as Walking Billboard Clothing.

And I have never worn anything from Abercrombie & Fitch. I have, as any well-intentioned gay man has, taken a look at their homoerotic catalogue, where young men frolic half-dressed to sell …. Something. But I don’t wear their clothing because, as I have said about these kinds of clothing stores, and designers , in the past: If you’d like me to advertize for you, then cut me a check for advertising, but don’t expect me to pay you for the privilege of advertizing your stores.

But then I heard this story about Mike Jeffries, the CEO of Abercrombie & Fitch, and suddenly I have yet another reason to not wear their clothing. See, Jeffries is a dick. And an asshat. He says that, basically, he only wants to sell his clothes to pretty, thin people, and anyone of any other size, well, keep moving on to the Ugly Fat People Store down the block:
“We go after the cool kids. We go after the attractive all-American kid with a great attitude and a lot of friends. A lot of people don’t belong [in our clothes], and they can’t belong. Are we exclusionary? Absolutely.”—Mike Jeffries
And to make sure that only the right-sized people wear the A&F brand, heretofore known as Assholes & Fuckwads, Jeffries enthusiastically supports the company’s size restrictions. Now, that doesn’t mean much for the guys because their stores do offer the XXL size for those big muscular jock types, but, for women, that means no pants above size 10 and no shirts or dresses above a large.

You’re too fat for Assholes & Fuckwads, apparently.

They do, however, offer, ‘extra small’ for those clients who are pretty and way-too-thin.
And now it seems that their attitude is hurting business. According to Ashley Lutz of Business Insider, “While a specialty retailer like Abercrombie can’t be expected to appeal to everyone, the brand’s standard of beauty is quickly becoming stale. Plus-sized is no longer a niche market: 67 percent of the apparel purchasing population fit that label, and the number is growing all the time.”

And so it seems that A&F stores are rapidly disappearing from malls and shopping centers because, rather than change their sixing policies, they’d apparently prefer to close up shop, which might be a plus-sized-fabulous thing to do considering that A&F has yet another disgusting policy.

Recently in an interview with an A&F District Manager—who has wisely requested anonymity—he revealed that “any clothing that has any type of blemish, including things such as a stitch missing or a frayed fabric, gets sent back to the company for immediate disposal."

Now, A&F has had many requests by non-profit organizations to have the ‘blemished’ clothing donated to areas of need but the company refuses: "Abercrombie and Fitch doesn't want to create the image that just anybody, poor people, can wear their clothing. Only people of a certain stature are able to purchase and wear the company name."

Yes, folks, if you aren’t pretty and thin, A&F doesn’t want you in their soon-to-go-the-way-of-the-dinosaur stores, and if, heaven forbid, you are a poor person, you cannot even purchase damaged, blemished, frayed A&F clothes because what would that say about the company.

Oh, it says loads about them, I tell you.

Will The Haters Ever Learn?

Poor Chick-Fil-Antigay.
See, once you admit to donating your customer’s money to homophobia and bigotry and intolerance, well, people start to think maybe you aren’t so nice.
Go figure.
The fast food company's perception with fast food eaters nationwide has taken a significant hit in most regions of the US, including the South where most of its restaurants are located, since president and COO Dan Cathy made his ‘we like everybody but we don’t want equality for The Gays’ remarks a couple of weeks ago.
Now, in the Midwest, sadly, right after Cathy spoke, Chick-Fil-Antigay's perception jumped up for a week, though it has since returned to where it was before the bigot spoke. But, as the controversy grows, and mayors of major cities, like Boston and Chicago, and politicians, like Nancy Pelosi, speak out about the company, Chick-fil-Antigay’s overall consumer brand health with fast food eaters has dropped to its lowest levels since mid-August 2010. And it also marks the first time Chick-Fil-Antigay has sunk below the fast food consumer perception average of the top QSR restaurant chains.
Let’s review: on July 16th the day the Baptist Press published its Dan Cathy interview, Chick-Fil-Antigay's Index score was 65—about 19 points above the average score that day of 46. But, just four days later, Chick-Fil-Antigay had fallen to 47 score, three points below the average score that day of 50. Last week, Chick-Fil-Antigay had a 39 score compared to the average score of 43.
Just goes to show you that homophobia, while it is covered under Free Speech, isn’t really good business.
Too bad Dan Cathy didn’t know that before he opened his yap.
