Repug Wrestlemania

I love how the Repugs portray themselves as the party of Family Values.

They know what's best for the rest of us.
Protect traditional marriage.
Keep the gays down.
It's our way or the highway.

And then they have the Larry Craig Wide-Stance Drama, and the John Ensign affairs.

So very Family Values.

And now there's this:

Down Florida way, former Hillsborough County Commissioner, and Repug, Brian Blair spent Father's Day in jail after his arrest early Sunday on charges that he punched his two sons. He was arrested about 5 AM after the alleged altercation at his family's home in the Forest Hills area of Tampa.

According to reports, Blair, a one-time professional wrestler, pushed his older son Brett, 17, in the chest. Brett tried to walk away, but Blair grabbed him and punched him in the face with a closed fist. Then he put his son in a choke hold, causing him to have trouble breathing, according to the report. Apparently, though, Blair released his elder son and then grabbed his younger son by the throat; he punched him as well, leaving a bump on the twelve-year-old's head.

Both sons identified their father as the person who attacked them.

Happy Father's Day.

On his way out of jail--he was released on his own recognizance--Blair said: “It’s a misunderstanding that could have been prevented. I have over 7,000 hours mentoring children and the last thing I’d ever do is hurt a kid. Sometimes the hardest kids to mentor are you own. I guess that’s all I’ll say for now.”

Mentor? Bully? Your call. But before you decide, here's what Brian Blair had to say about Hillsborough schools obsevring the 'Day of Silence'--a day designed to bring awareness to the problem of school bullying:

"I have always believed that all citizens are equal and should be treated accordingly. On the other hand, no group of citizens should be given government sanction and support to promote their social and sexual agenda upon the rest of us and especially, our children.
Considering the fact that the same school system does not want to allow just one Minute of Silence in the classroom for God, this is preposterous."

Yeah. Bully.

  1. There are many Dems that fall short of sainthood and get caught... Bill Clinton, John Edwards, David Vitter, Ted Kennedy, etc., but they aren't usually the ones out there being holier than thou while they are doing it. The poor Repugnants have to appear righteous for their base and it always comes back and bites them in the butt.

  3. It's the hypocrisy that does it. That guy, however, is a major tool.
