Minute Rant: Enough With The Threats

Concord Community Schools Superintendent Wayne Stubbs has fired Jessica Dooley as a coach and teacher after she suggested on Facebook that she should burn down Memories Pizza in Walkerton over the owners’ support for a new Religious Freedom Restoration Act.

Let me make this queer: we don't need to be burnin' things down because someone said somethin' nasty about us, or won't bake us a pizza pie.

We just need to let them, and the world, and all of our allies, gay and straight, know that what you don't do, never do, tell others not to do, is order a pizza from Memories Pizza in Walkerton, Indiana.

Hit 'em in the wallet, and stop the violence.

Amen! Nothing -- well, almost nothing -- plays into the hands of haters than making statements like that.

Behind you 100%-- violence just causes more violence, after all. Money, or the lack thereof, hurts worse!

i don't agree with what she said because it won't solve the hatepizza problem (and would give idiots yet another reason to crowdsource hate), but she should have the right to speak her mind outside the classroom without fear of censure or termination.

Now if she goes ahead and burns the place down, well, that's another issue...

No-one should advocate violence least of all teachers and those who work with children; it only encourages hatred

Violence is never, EVER the answer to any question.
