Oh What A Beautiful Morning .....

I truly cannot stop smiling.
I was worried for a while there that things might not go this way, but now I cannot stop smiling.
I feel like the same giddy schoolgirl I was four years ago ... the day after. I feel hope, and hopeful. I feel that we elected a man that will do right by all of us, not just some of us. I feel we elected a man who made mistakes, but didn';t hide them, mask them, or change his mind about them.
Forward.
I feel we elected the best man for this country, at this time, and I feel hopeful that the GOP might finally get the message that future elections need to be about all of us. They might finally be getting that simple message that's up there at the top of this page: we need to move Forward. And their anti-women candidates, their dismissal of the Hispanic community, their discrimination of the LGBT community, will not be tolerated any more. We are all Americans and, once again, we have a president who knows it.
Forward.
Maine and Maryland came through, too, on the side of equality and We The People of those states demanded that all their citizens have the same rights and privileges, including the right to marry the person they love. Out in Washington, it's not quite over at this time--6AM East Coast--but it looks like equality will win there as well. I could marry Maine, Washington and Maryland right now.
And let's not forget the good people of Minnesota, who have rejected an amendment to ban same-sex marriage in that state. They chose not to add discrimination to their state constitution, and all of us--and I'm looking at you, North Carolina--need to understand that the times are a'changing.
Forward.

  5. As a former Ohio resident and native, and a very recent transplant to Maryland (thanks to husbands job transfer), I can say, that I am proud to be a Marylander, a state where the people look to the future instead into the face of fear.

And the goodness keeps coming in: Floridians have kicked that woman hating Jewish hating Islamaphobe and homophobe out Allen West out of Congress!
