I continue to be shocked and offended by the decades-old, and still ongoing, child sexual abuse scandal of the Catholic Church. So, needless to say I was appalled to learn that in the Netherlands there are Ten To Twenty-Thousand Cases Of Child Molestation By The Catholic Church:

For a long time I've been wondering how anyone at all can STILL claim to be a practicing member of this institution. (e.g. my sister and her husband and family - I stopped being an active member 40 years ago.) Any other organisation with this record, appalling almost beyond imagination, would have been forcibly shut down ages ago. But still, it's God's unique, true Church, isn't it? - led by a senile ex-Nazi (did I say "ex"?) who claims to be God's sole representative on earth. So that's all right, then!
