Well, she sure changed her tune.
Back in October, I posted about Medford, New Jersey mayor, Chris Myers, being embroiled in one of those all-too-popular rent-boy scandals [see post HERE]. At the time Myers denied the allegations and said he would never resign and then said the rumors were untrue and how could you and how dare you and I'm straight and....and....and.....
He resigned this week, saying, “My work commitments will not allow me to devote the time that is needed in the months ahead. That is why, today, I am resigning from the Medford Township Council, effective immediately.”.
So, um, is hiring young men for sex considered work?
I mean, is that what he means, because Chris Myers appears to be unemployed. He was put on administrative leave by his former employer, Lockheed Martin. Company. In fact, company spokesman Keith Little said Monday, “Chris Myers left Lockheed Martin on Dec. 1 to pursue other employment.”
Like, um, hiring rent-boys?
Now, I can make fun of this because it's just another in a long line of Republicans who love the man sex, and get caught having the man sex or paying for the man sex, and then deny deny deny until they resign resign resign.
But, the sad fact is that, had Chris Myers not felt such shame at being, at the very least, gay, he might not have felt the need to seek out the man sex, and then lie about it. He might not have felt the need to marry a woman and mislead her and their children into thinking he is one thing, when he is altogether something different.
One day, it's my hope that even the GOP will understand there is nothing wrong with being gay and then we won't have to hear about these shocking GOP man-on-man sex scandals; at least not involving ALLEGEDLY straight GOP men.

It'll take a while, but eventually being gay won't be a controversy for anyone at any age. Of course, there will always be people who talk about what a shame and embarrassment it is. Eventually though, this will become more and more antiquated. It just sucks how much time it takes.
ReplyDeleteI really just feel sad when I hear & see stories like these...
ReplyDeleteAt the most, or at the very least, much, of their problems are at their own hands. Very sad....
