Tuesday Thought #1

  1. I truly hope that Americans come to realise that a healthcare system paid for out of taxes is for the best of everyone. In the UK the NHS is funded out of what is called National Insurance. Even if you never earn a penny you still have access to the service and if you don't use it because you are ultra-healthy lucky you. You can't opt out but if you want to you can buy your own medical insurance. The money involved is very little compared to the premiums for health insurance and you stop paying the NI once you start receiving your state pension. What is there to lose?

  2. PS you only pay for medication your GP has prescribed at the rate of £9 per item, unless you are over 60 or on benefits. I've had a basal cell carcinoma removed and a steroid injection and all my different medications on repeat prescription in the past 6 weeks and it has cost me nothing, any more than the major operation I had several years ago cost me any money when I had 4 pints of blood in a 5 hour operation (not to mention the insertion of the metalwork) and 5 day stay in hospital.

  5. It's incredible how the American public can be so illiterate about health care systems and how they work.
All they hear is that they'll be paying for someone. The level of stupidity is astounding.

    XOXO

  7. We had the urge to leave so many times over the years, which is why we finally did. And that was BEFORE the Orange Menace and His Hordes.
