Minute Rant: Ian Reisner Is A Liar

Remember when those openly gay hoteliers, Ian Reisner and Mati Weiderpass, found themselves facing the Wrath of the Gays for hosting a dinner for future failed presidential candidate, anti-gay wacknut and certifiable loon, Ted Cruz?

And remember how they fought back, saying it wasn’t a fundraiser, and that it was only a meet-and-greet, and a chance to “start a dialogue?”
“There were no checks given, it was nothing like that.” — Ian Reisner
Remember that?

Yeah, turns out Ian Reisner is just a big old lying queer because there was money raised, and checks given, including a check to the Ted Cruz campaign from one Mr. Ian Reisner, who made a $2,700 donation at around the time the dinner took place.

Oh, but then, when the New York Times broke the story of Reisner and Weiderpass palling around with Cruz, and offering to help his candidacy, Reisner called the campaign and asked for his check to be refunded. And now that it’s become known that he is a liar, he’s walking back his story:
“In the interest of transparency, I gave Senator Cruz a $2,700 check to show my support for his work on behalf of Israel. When I realized his donation could be misconstrued as supporting his anti-gay marriage agenda, I asked for the money back. Senator Cruz’s office gave the money back, and I have no intention of giving any money to any politicians who aren’t in support of L.G.B.T. issues.”
Siddown Ian, the last thing our community needs is a lying hypocritical gay. You can give money to whomever you want, but don’t like about it; and then don’t get all squeee when the story breaks and try to walk it back.

You’re pathetic.
