or the uprisings in the Middle East, or the environment, the cost of gasoline, or the presidential campaign. There is something far more insidious we have to fight:
The gays are getting married at military bases!
Wicker |
Yesterday, in the midst of Romney batshittery and Chris Stevens murder, Inhofe and fellow Republican goose-stepper Roger Wicker have introduced a measure that would ban same-sex marriages on military bases and protect military chaplains from "pressure" to perform such ceremonies.
Their bill, called the Military Religious Freedom Act, is really just an effort to enforce the Defense of Marriage Act [DOMA] after the repeal of DADT.
Inhofe |
"President Obama and his administration are dismissing their responsibility to uphold the law of the land by unilaterally deeming DOMA unworthy of enforcement."Now, let's get this queer: there is already in place a Defense Department directive that says: "A military chaplain may participate in or officiate any private ceremony, whether on or off a military installation."
So, um, why the need for a bill? Well, some conservatives are complaining that, while military chaplains have the right to refuse to perform a same-sex wedding, some are being punished for their refusal. Yet they cannot name a single chaplain who was punished.
Yes, it's more GOP lies. And needless bills at a time when we need to get the country going again.
Jim Inhofe and Roger Wicker should be ashamed of themselves.

these fools are out of it
ReplyDeleteBob,
ReplyDeleteAh yes, Senator Inhofe, the ignoramus, knuckle dragging senator from Oklahoma is still perpetuating his hate. I don't know of this character Wicker but Inhofe I am all too well aware of. By the way, the picture of him in your posting looks nothing like him in real life, he is even uglier in person. He and the Oklahomans who voted for him deserve each other.
