Architecture Wednesday

This unique house is located in Switzerland and was obviously inspired by the surrounding mountains. The house is an inclined block, placed on the ground, with the sloping sides of the roof imitating the mountains.

It's made of wood, yet painted gray to mimic the stones in the nearby hills. And that color provides a perfect contrast to the surrounding vineyards.

The interior is done in very simple, minimalist, natural style. Some walls are made of almost raw stone what in addition to wooden insertions to create a comfortable environment.

A crooked house, that seems poised to take flight, in a vineyard.
A little too much of the grape and the house would probably feel perfectly level.

  1. Yikes. Nice interior, no doubt, but the exterior looks a bit like the trailer in Lucy and Desi's movie, The Long, Long Trailer...after they got it to the top of a tres steep mountain.
