Mike Slaton Looks For An Upset in Kentucky

Mike Slaton doesn't take the easy road.
He is running for Congress in Louisville, Kentucky.
He is running against the incumbent, from his own party--the Democrats--who has served in the state Legislature for twenty-eight years.
Mike Slaton is only twenty-eight years old himself.
And, he's openly gay.
In Kentucky.
Running for office.
Openly gay.
Kentucky.
But Mike wants the incumbent, Thomas Riner out of office because of his conservative views. A Democrat with conservative views? Now I've heard everything, I think. But Riner is well known around those parts for introducing legislation in 2002 and again in 2006 mandating that language recognizing the role of God in protecting Kentucky from terrorist attacks be included in the state’s homeland security bill. Riner also wanted the Ten Commandments to be displayed in courthouses across the state. Riner's "issues" have cost Kentucky nearly half a million dollars in legal fees in lost case after lost case in defense against the American Civil Liberties Union.
Mike Slaton understands the Separation Of Church And State.
Mike Slaton understands that a s a politician he should represent all people, not just the religious right.
And.
He's openly gay.
in Kentucky.
Running for office.
Gay.
Kentucky.
Office.
