Oh Iowa!

We just got the good news that any debate over putting marriage equality on the ballot in Iowa will be shelved for at least the next few years. and we heard that the people of Iowa aren't at all bothered by gay marriage because there are other issues they need addresses. so, it looked good for the LGBT community in Iowa.

But wait a minute. A pair of Republican state legislators have introduced a bill that would remove protections for LGBT students from an anti-bullying law passed in 2007.

That's right! Asshats, and Republicans because they seem to go hand-in-hand, Jason Schultz [he's the bald one] and Matt Windschitl [the gay-faced one] sponsored the legislation to remove sexual orientation and gender identity as definitions used for purposes of protecting students in public and nonpublic schools from harassment and bullying.

Schultz told a local news channel that the rationale behind the move is to force a vote on a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage, since the Iowa Supreme Court pointed to laws like Iowa’s Safe Schools Law in making its April decision to legalize same-sex marriage.

So, basically what this moron is saying, is that it's okay to harass, beat up, and possibly even murder, LGBT students if it means they can ban gay marriage.

Sounds logical. If you beat the gay out of some kid he or she will be less likely to ask for his or her rights. Kill an LGBT student and you've solved the issue permanently.

So, if you live in Iowa, hell, even if you don't, drop a line to Asshats Schultz and Windschitl to tell them how disgusted and sickened you are about their proposed legislation.

Here's Schultz' info:
