A Piece Of Oprah Fluff

So, the big news is that Sarah Palin's going on Oprah to talk about the book she "wrote." Not about the book she read, because, well, she can't remember what she reads, if she reads anything at all.

But really? Oprah? Palin? Togther on the same stage.

Talk about a puff piece.

Oprah likes to pretend that she is the master journalist/interviewer but, well, she isn't. Do you think she's going to ask The Quitter why she quit? Maybe. Probably. But will there be a follow-up along the lines of something like:

  • But, seriously, Sarah, don't you think you've flushed away the people's trust by not following through with your job as Governor?
  • Why should anyone trust that you're going to do anything that you say?
  • The American people want a leader they know can get the job done, that they trust can get the job done, how do we know that's you?
Yeah, I can't see Oprah asking tough questions.

Is she gonna ask The Quitter why, when she was campaigning, she liked to paint Obama as a terrorist? Or, at the very least, didn't reprimand those who did? Is she gonna ask The Quitter why she tried to pit one American against another by calling some people "real" Americans, thereby calling those that disagree with her as "un"American?

Those are questions I want asked.

Ask her if she truly thinks that John McCain made a giant mistake picking some illiterate media-whoring wannabe off the frozen ice caps of Alaska who couldn't even handle being governor to be his running mate. Don't ask about Bristol and Levi and David Letterman. Don't ask her about the Lord and Taylor suits.

Ask her the tough questions, Oprah. Ask her about Troopergate, and make her answer rather than spin around the truth. Make her squirm a little. Show the real Quitter, not the Wink-Wink who thinks she can get by on a colloquialism and a smile.

Show us the real Palin. The one who lies to get what she wants; the one who quit her job as an elected by the people public servant because it got too hard. The one who was infuriated by people saying that she was "going rogue" but then calls her "book" by the same name. Show the real Sarah Palin. Show us the manipulating, lying, quitting, idiotic, self-involved, whiny, pity me, Sarah Palin, the woman behind the illusion.

Then maybe we'll see a show.

  1. I thought about you yesterday when I heard this - and about spontaneous combustion...
I think they will talk about Levi Johnson and his upcoming photo shoot to show his, well, I just can't go there.

I would love to see Oprah nail her ass to the wall. One can hope this will happen. If Oprah is feeling at all fiesty--it will!

  3. Maybe, just maybe Oprah will go "rogue" just once.
    Oprah may surprise us all.

  4. If Oprah doesn't ask some tough questions, she'll be appropriately ridiculed. Personally, I think it would be much more fun to see her on Letterman. >:]

On Facebook, I posted a piece from NPR that asked people what they wanted Oprah to ask. My favorite was the commenter who wanted Oprah to ask if Palin's Cadillac health insurance policy paid for her lobotomy. LMAO! SSIS!

  5. Oprah is about money. She will do whatever will bring her the most cash.

  6. The two of them together boggles the mind! It will be entertaining but we can only hope there's some depth. Guess it's possible even if improbable.
