She's what, in her twenties? Well, I have been seeing the images she sees on television ever since I was born - in the sixties. I have often asked myself what to do to solve the hunger problem. Besides the Vatican, I could make a list of "things" that could be sold. We could start by getting rid of our fancy tv sets and other knick knacks we buy just to remind us of the warped world we live in.
In the West we are based on consumerism - it is the basis of capitalism (trust me I live the big C) - but we are not mindful of the underdeveloped countries. This problem will never go away - it seems to be the way of the world - balance of nature?
I have to agree with truthspew. The reason hunger exists in the world has nothing to do with a lack of food sources. Political agendas and selfish social policy dictate hungers existence in the world.
Something people don't realize is that we do in fact produce enough food in the western world to feed the entire globe.
