Looks like the truly horrible 'landmark' of a quarter of a million American Covid deaths could well be reached before election day. What's the betting that when it happens 'he' will use his usual technique of 'distraction by news' and announce that a vaccine is going to be available on a given date just after the election, whether or not it's been approved as being safe and effective - which we know it won't be. The whole sorry, frightening mess has become a bigger nightmare than ANYone could even have imagined just a few months back. Strewth Almighty! I only wish that I/we could do something more constructive and helpful than just offering sympathy.

It's Trump who wants to make the US a second China -- a country where only one party is allowed, minorities are put in concentration camps, the media are totally subservient to the regime, and it's illegal to criticize the president -- who remains in office for life.
Yes, the Republicans mobilized after Ginsburg's death, because it was an opportunity to seize more power. Trouble is, they've made us mad enough to do the same, mad enough to push timid politicians to do the right thing once we vote them the power to do so. Both my state's senators are already Democrats, but they'll be hearing from me after the election, telling them to support eliminating the filibuster and enlarging the Supreme Court. Yeah, it's radical, but the situation demands nothing less. And I think a few zillion other voters will be doing the same.
