I Didn't Say It ....

James Mattis, the now-former Secretary of Defense, in a message to his department as he exited the White House:

“Our Department’s leadership, civilian and military, remains in the best possible hands. I am confident that each of you remains undistracted from our sworn mission to support and defend the Constitution while protecting our way of life. Our Department is proven to be at its best when the times are most difficult. So keep the faith in our country and hold fast, alongside our allies, aligned against our foes. It has been my high honor to serve at your side. May God hold you safe in the air, on land, and at sea.”

Defend the Constitution …against enemies both foreign and domestic.
His message is clear.
Calum Scott, British singer, on his LGBTQ anthem “No Matter What” and how he wrote such a personal song:

“‘It just made me feel liberated and a lot more at peace with myself when things I was holding back and suppressing were out on paper. Before I released the album I wasn’t satisfied with where I was at with my sexuality. I wasn’t necessarily happy or proud of my sexuality … No Matter What kind of went in my catalog. I released the album and afterwards I kind of regretted not including it on my debut album. So I spoke to the label and said, ‘you know this is a really personal song but I want to release it. I want it to have its moment.’ So the label said ‘ you know, test it out live.’ I performed it on the Human Tour and in America to thousands of thousands of people and night after night there would be rows and rows and rows of people crying, stirred with their parents, and that really moved me. I cried almost every time that I sang it … As personal as it is, it is probably a song that I’m most proud of.”

And probably the best way to connect with people, and to stand up out loud and proud.
John Kelly, the outgoing White House Chief of Staff, blaming former Attorney General Jeff Sessions for a policy that led to the separations of migrant families at the border:

“What happened was Jeff Sessions, he was the one that instituted the zero-tolerance process on the border that resulted in both people being detained and the family separation. He surprised us.”

Bull shit. Even if it was Session’s idea, he couldn’t implement it without the approval of _____,and that means Kelly knew about it beforehand, too.
Kelly’s just trying to save his own ass and not be seen as some kind of goose-stepping co-conspirator.
Louis CK, unfunny asshat and sexual predator, mocking nonbinary people and the Parkland shooting survivors in a “comedy bit” last week:

“[Gender-fluid people act] like royalty. They tell you what to call them … [in lisping voice] … ‘You should address me, as ‘they them’ Because I identify as gender neutral.’ Okay, you should address me as ‘there’ because I identify as a location, and that location is your mother’s cunt. It doesn’t have to be that nasty, but it can be. [And those Parkland students] You’re not interesting because you went to a high school where kids got shot. Why does that mean I have to listen to you? How does that make you interesting? You didn’t get shot. You pushed some fat kid in the way. Now I gotta listen to you talking? Everybody gets upset when there’s a shooting at a high school, I don’t see why it’s worse than anybody else dying, I don’t.”

Seriously, I think someone is purposely trying to ruin his career.
Good.
Mitt Romney, flip-flopping, again, on _____:

“It is well known that Donald _____ was not my choice for the Republican presidential nomination. After he became the nominee, I hoped his campaign would refrain from resentment and name-calling. It did not. When he won the election, I hoped he would rise to the occasion. His early appointments of Rex Tillerson, Jeff Sessions, Nikki Haley, Gary Cohn, H.R. McMaster, Kelly and Mattis were encouraging. But, on balance, his conduct over the past two years, particularly his actions this month, is evidence that the president has not risen to the mantle of the office.”

So, wait, he wasn’t your choice, but you auditioned for a job in his administration, and when you didn’t get it, you don’t like him again.
Someone is angling to run against _____ in 2020.
Mittsy Flip Flop who once said of _____: “I appreciated the chance to speak with the president-elect and look forward to the coming administration.”
Piss off.

  1. I caught sight of your new headline at a distance; Peace, Love Pride and misread it. I read Pence, Love Pride and thought that did NOT sound right - what a difference a letter can make! Pence does NOT = peace in this world or the next.

  2. I have a question so please don't take what I am about to say the wrong way. This is meant to be constructive and helpful.
Near the end of the John Kelly piece you wrote, "Kelly's just trying to save his own ass and now be seen as some goose-stepping co-conspirator."
Did you mean "not" or "now"?
All I'm trying to say is you make far too many word-based errors. It's just that I am trying to let you know that before you release your post, reread that sucker in the preview mode. It lets you see whether there are grammatical, spelling or word usage errors. Otherwise, I love your blog especially Tales of Carlos.

  6. @Leanna
Fixed the spelling error for you. Sadly, blogger only catches spelling errors, not mistakes in grammar or syntax.

  9. Mattis knows the evil in the White House.

Callum is cute, I like the song... if only he were a baritone. I'm so tired of tenors.

Louis CK is only funny to all those bitter, ugly people out there who are just like him.

And Mitt? He's a funny guy. He has the knife... and he wants to stab the Idiot Jerk in the back, his problem is he can't stop dancing around.
