Yes, I know, it’s a lot of white and it’s kind of a box, but the setting is beautiful, with south and west views of the San Jacinto Mountains. And the inside has been completely reimagined and remodeled home with custom finishes.
The White Box is located in the sought-after Araby neighborhood in south Palm Springs—close to Southridge, and just minutes from downtown—the home offers a seamless blend of modern luxury and the iconic Palm Springs midcentury aesthetic in nearly 3,000 square feet with four bedrooms, three bathrooms, and an office area.
Not to mention a pool for those steamy Palm Springs days.
And nights.
Interesting and so completely and totally opposite of my home!
ReplyDeleteMine, too, but I love the views and the clean lines!
DeleteAll that white tells me no one lives in that house, or maybe they only live there 2 or 3 days a year.
ReplyDeleteTo be fair, it was meticulously cleaned before the photo shoot.
DeleteGorgeous, though I do agree a little more colour would be nice. I'm literally salivating over that laundry room. And oh my, to live somewhere where a pool is almost a necessity! the views are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI don't mind the white, though I'd have some great colorful art on the walls, and then windows open to the views!
DeleteWell, Bob, ya finally did it!! Ya found a place too white even for me!! I love the desert, so I love the setting and the outdoor spaces and the open floor plan. What I cannot handle is imagining that place at night. I have a visceral hatred of overhead lighting and there's nary a lamp in the place! Soft glows in various places make me feel at home...this place would trigger migraines!!
ReplyDeleteI did not notice the lack of table lamps except for the bedrooms! I would need some reading lamps here and there ... except for most of the days when I'm out by the pool!
DeleteI love it - big fan of lots of pure white here - I'd be happy to move right in!
ReplyDeleteIt is a stunning home, and I love the location!
Deletethe dog's mother
ReplyDeleteVery modern! Loverly views.
xoxo :-)
The sky and those mountains!

The space and property are excellent. The details and furnishings, and backyard landscaping and design strike me as uninspired. But I'd be happy to take it over and redo it.
ReplyDeleteIt needs some color inside and a much more flamboyant, though drought tolerant, landscape outside, yes sir.
DeleteArchitecture Wednesday has become a true favorite and escape for me, sweetpea! I knew after reading the news (don't ask) THIS would be the place to come and see.PS isn't that far from LA, so it's possible to imagine living there and completely redoing the interior! xoxo
ReplyDeleteTake it on!

I'm all for white and wood together this is a little bit much for me. I will say my favorite two rooms for the bathrooms. I love the tile work that's been done in both of them.
ReplyDeleteI love that elongated subway tile installed vertically; and the colors are great in the baths!
DeleteOK, I love this. I tend to like boxy white houses, and I LOVE Palm Springs. So yeah, I'd take it, if someone gave it to me.
ReplyDeleteThis scores for you on both levels!
DeleteLove it. The hotel room of my dreams. I don't like the marble in the kitchen but I could live with it. And their taste in art (on the walls) is dreadful (that's where splashes of color should be). But otherwise... adore. And I think the air and temps would be so LOVELY. Kizzes.
ReplyDeleteThe marble in the kitchen is a little too matchy-matchy with the cabinetry; I'd have gone more extravagant. And with some great art pieces.

Is that the laundry with the washing machine and dryer? It is huge. Lots of white, very virginal, like me.
ReplyDeleteThere are folks who would kill for a huge laundry room and so this house is perfect for them!
DeleteI could do with it being a bit smaller.
I had a dear friend who lived in a beautiful Mid-Century home in Palm Springs-E. Avenida Fey Norte-just a hop and skip over the airport's fence. We would sit in the back yard and watch the clouds move across the mountains. We could see Bob Hope's home in the distance. He had a bathroom in his bedroom which had a door that led out to the backyard/pool area.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful home. A little too white. I will need to come in and put my stank of color on it. I wish there was a floorplan included because I wanted to see how the bathrooms are laid out. The uniqueness of the bathrooms are cool. Love how the back yard is laid out in different zones. I don't know how much their water bill is for that patch of grass. Most the homes I have seen are xeriscape in design. My friend would hire the landscape folks to come and trim all of his palm trees. And yes, there were as tall as some in the picture. One did not want the dead palm fronds in the pool. That front door and yard are welcoming. Oh yes, that is one big assed laundry room.
I agree about the grass; not in Palm Springs, not in California!
DeleteI made it about halfway through when snowblindness hit.
ReplyDelete😁
DeleteI usually long for more color, but I like this place. I can see myself sitting by the pool while the dogs go for a swim.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
For men, a lot of the color is in the nature outside, but I'd put more on the inside, too!
Deletexoxo
You know I love it.
ReplyDeleteI especially love the outdoors, though. I would spend so much time in that pool, I'd have to seriously invest in SPF 90.
I like this kind of building, because you can literally do anything with it. I'd have more artwork and some rugs, but I really like it.
And like Mads, I love the bathrooms. I have a thing for pretty bathrooms.
XOXO
I agree; you can make this look like whatever you want ...

But that house you showed [Oh, Robert] is stunning!
PS---I have not seen so many can/pot lights in a ceiling---Looks like a damn runway in there---I would have preferred to have none---I never liked overhead lighting---More lamps please----
ReplyDeleteYes, when you move in can we come visit?
ReplyDeleteOf course!
