I Didn't Say It........

Newt Gingrich, on being middle class while getting a $1.6 million paycheck and having a seven-figure line of credit at Tiffany:
"We don’t come out of a background where we can buy a seat or buy, as Mayor Bloomberg did, buy the mayorship of New York. I mean if you look at how much he spent, he just wrote a check and bought it. I think that’s very dangerous to the future of American democracy. My dad served in the Army for 27 years; I was a college teacher. I’m a middle class person."

Middle class apparently means a net worth of some $20 million dollars because that's how much Newty is worth.
I will be taking a short break as i am now fully aware that I am living well below the poverty level, at least by the Gingrich Standard.

Tim Wildmon, head of the American Family Association, thinks the Baby Jeebus discovered America:
"If Jesus Christ had never been born, you would not be reading this column. If Jesus Christ had never been born, there would be no United States of America. After Jesus left this earth, Christianity spread from the Holy Land to modern-day Turkey to Greece and Italy and then covered the rest of Europe. In fact, Christopher Columbus wrote that his discovery of the New World was inspired by '...the Holy Spirit, because he comforted me with rays of marvelous inspiration from the Holy Scriptures.' Indeed, if it were not for Christmas, we would not be living in the greatest country and most generous country in the history of mankind."

Okay, so Columbus was "inspired" by the Baby Jeebus. That doesn't make this BabyJeebusLand, nor does it make this a Christian country.
And for the record, Jeebus wasn't born on December 25th. That date was stolen by Christians.

Michelangelo Signorile, writing for Huffington Post, on Miss Ricky Perry's promise to reinstate DADT if elected:
"This week Rick Perry told a 14-year-old openly bisexual girl who questioned him after a town hall in Decorah, Iowa, that he doesn't believe gays should serve openly in the military because 'homosexuality is a sin.' I sure hope young Rebecca Green saw the iconic image days later of two female Navy petty officers, Marissa Gaeta and Citlalic Snell, sharing the first same-sex kiss at ship's return. Because that sweet and wonderful photo is the future. And Rick Perry is the ugly and wretched past that we can hopefully move on from after this hideous GOP primary campaign."

I think about young girls who think they can't join the military because they're girls. Then there are the young girls who grew up under DADT and thought they couldn't join because they were gay.
Now, young girls, gay and straight, are well-aware that they can do whatever they want, and with pictures like the one of Marissa Gaeta and Citlalic Snell, they now see that they are no different.
Electing someone like Perry who will shatter their dreams just because they might be gay is an insult.

Cardinal Francis George, retreating slightly on his claim that gays are like the KKK:
"Obviously, it's absurd to say the gay and lesbian community are the Ku Klux Klan, but if you organize a parade that looks like parades that we've had in our past because it stops us from worshipping God, well then that's the comparison, but it's not with people and people - it's parade-parade."

I've never been to a KKK parade, but I've been to my share of Pride parades, and I have never seen one that tells anyone they cannot worship God.
To the contrary, Pride parades are about feeling what you feel, and not being ashamed.
Whether you're gay or Christian or gay and Christian.

Linda Harvey, from her World Net Daily countdown of the top ten worst events in homofascism in 2011:
"And the No. 1 abuse of homosexual activism in the United States in 2011, was the implementation of the repeal of 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell,' allowing open homosexual behavior in our military. No one can yet know how damaging the repeal of the ban on sodomy will be – we can only guess – but there's no question that it will damage the character of our armed forces and undermine their effectiveness. Dare I say the obvious? We need non-effeminate men in the military. Does anyone really believe that a prancing drill sergeant won't detract from readiness? Where women are serving, they should be women of high character, not those who embrace homosexual conduct and publicly declare a 'sin' identity. These folks have truly lost their way, their shame, their innate sense of God's touch on and design for their lives."

Wow, Linda Harvey is so wrapped up in her own bigotry and hatred, and outright stupidity.
Prancing drill sergeants?
I think Linda Harvey might just be a little upset because she couldn't join the military, or the LPGA. Or bowl.
Just sayin'.

Newt Gingrich, on a possible Vice President for his team:
"I am a great admirer of hers and she was a remarkable reform governor of Alaska, she’s somebody who I think brings a great deal to the possibility of helping in government and that would be one of the possibilities. There are also some very important Cabinet positions that she could fill very, very well. I can’t imagine anybody who would do a better job of driving us to an energy solution than Gov. Palin, for example. Tell her that she would certainly be on the list of one of the people we would consider."

Hey Newt?
Two words: John McCain.
She did wonders for that ticket so go ahead and pick her and prepare to lose.
Wait....you'll never be the nominee anyway.

Bigotry Reacts

American Family Association Asshat-in-Chief, Tim Wildmon, wants Judge Vaughn Walker impeached:
"This is a tyrannical, abusive and utterly unconstitutional display of judicial arrogance. Judge Walker has turned ‘We the People’ into ‘I the Judge.' It’s inexcusable for him to deprive the citizens of California of their right to govern themselves, and cavalierly trash the will of over seven million voters. This case never should even have entered his courtroom. The federal constitution nowhere establishes marriage policy, which means under the 10th Amendment that issue is reserved for the states....It’s also extremely problematic that Judge Walker is a practicing homosexual himself. He should have recused himself from this case, because his judgment is clearly compromised by his own sexual proclivity....That’s why the people and elected officials accountable to the people should be setting marriage policy, not a black-robed tyrant whose own lifestyle choices make it impossible to believe he could be impartial."

Brian Brown, Maggie Gallagher's lapdog, of NOM:
“Big surprise! We expected nothing different from Judge Vaughn Walker, after the biased way he conducted this trial. With a stroke of his pen, Judge Walker has overruled the votes and values of 7 million Californians who voted for marriage as one man and one woman. This ruling, if allowed to stand, threatens not only Prop 8 in California but the laws in 45 other states that define marriage as one man and one woman....Never in the history of America has a federal judge ruled that there is a federal constitutional right to same sex marriage. The reason for this is simple – there isn’t!”

And, from NOM"s minister of hate, Maggie Gallagher:
“The ‘trial’ in San Francisco...is a unique, and disturbing, episode in American jurisprudence. Here we have an openly gay federal judge substituting his views for those of the American people and of our Founding Fathers who I promise you would be shocked by courts that imagine they have the right to put gay marriage in our Constitution. We call on the Supreme Court and Congress to protect the people’s right to vote for marriage.”

Concerned Women for America:
“Judge Walker’s decision goes far beyond homosexual ‘marriage’ to strike at the heart of our representative democracy. Judge Walker has declared, in effect, that his opinion is supreme and ‘We the People’ are no longer free to govern ourselves. The ruling should be appealed and overturned immediately....Marriage is not a political toy. It is too important to treat as a means for already powerful people to gain preferred status or acceptance. Marriage between one man and one woman undergirds a stable society and cannot be replaced by any other living arrangement....Citizens of California voted to uphold marriage because they understood the sacred nature of marriage and that homosexual activists use same-sex ‘marriage’ as a political juggernaut to indoctrinate young children in schools to reject their parent’s values and to harass, sue and punish people who disagree. CWA stands in prayer for our nation as we continue to defend marriage as the holy union God created between one man and one woman.”

I Didn't Say It....

LaToya Jackson, on Michael's, er, murder:
"He was murdered for his catalogue and they knew that, and they knew Michael was much more, worth so much more dead than alive. His children deserve the truth. I think his parents deserve the truth, his family and his fans. Personally I think it is a slap in the face, not just to Michael but to the entire family. It's totally unfair, it's wrong and it was not an accident."

His sister deserves the truth, too, and by truth, I mean she thinks she deserves a cut.
Boob jobs and plastic surgery ain't free, y'all.
And Michael's estate is now reportedly worth a cool billion.

Glee creator Ryan Murphy, on the rumor that some members of the cast are using their trailers for some afternoon delight:
"I've dated people I've worked with and, you know, when you work on a set for 18 hours a day I think it's natural. But I have a rule: don't do it in your trailer! They've broken that rule on many occasions. I'm like, 'I know you guys are young and hormonal, but don't do it in your trailer'."
Hmmm, I wonder which ones are doing the deed?
Mister Shue and Puck?
Maybe?
I know! Me, too.

Mike Huckabee, on the "ick" factor about same-sex relationships:
“I do believe that God created male and female and intended for marriage to be the relationship of the two opposite sexes. Male and female are biologically compatible to have a relationship. We can get into the ick factor, but the fact is two men in a relationship, two women in a relationship, biologically, that doesn’t work the same.”
Guess what, Mike. I think there's a great deal of "ick factor" thought about you and the missus doing the nasty, but that doesn't stop you from getting married, does it?
Asshat.

Jesse Tyler Ferguson, on the Modern Family kiss campaign:
"I'm all for progressive movement within the show. I appreciate the passion that some of the fans have. The fact that there is even a campaign on Facebook just shows how many people really love the show and the characters and want to see them happy. I think the writers are proceeding in a very wise way. There's a great PDA episode they're writing about Mitchell's issues with public displays of affection. Viewers shouldn't be expecting a big, 'Gone with the Wind' romantic kiss. It's very beautiful and poignant. The writers are so good, they're really taking that criticism and they're going to run with it and try and create a talking point with it."
I'm looking for to the Cameron/Mitchell smooch. They are, undoubtedly, one of the most committed same-sex partners on network TV, and a kiss would just seal that deal.

American Family Association president Tim Wildmon, on ten year-old Will Phillips being the Grand Marshal of Northwest Arkansas Pride:
"It’s shameful that adults would abuse a brain-washed child in this way. He’s obviously just parroting the nonsense he’s been told by manipulative adults. For gay activists to trot out this child and make him the poster child for promoting unnatural sexual expression is a form of child abuse.
"When you realize that the FDA won’t allow a male to donate blood if he’s had sex with another male even one time since 1977, you begin to understand the enormous health risks involved in this kind of sexual behavior. We call on Mayor Lioneld Jordan of Fayetteville to cancel his plans to issue a proclamation celebrating homosexual behavior and Gay Pride. There is nothing about homosexual conduct to be proud of, and much to be ashamed of."
Oh, but there is much to be proud of when you spread hate and fear, eh, Tim?

Clay Aiken, on why he should replace Simon Cowell on American Idol:
"I've always thought it would be a great addition to the panel to have someone who's a former contestant and knows what it's like to be up on that stage and be critiqued. Well, I'm so far removed from it at this point that I don't know if I remember what it's like, but who knows. I would not put myself out there to be as caustic as he is, but if they want to call me, bring it on. We can talk."
Or, maybe, Clay wants to do it because, really, his career is basically over.
Just sayin'.

Jerry Seinfeld, on Lady GaGa, after she ended up in his box at the Met's game:
"This woman is a jerk. I hate her. I can't believe they put her in my box, which I paid for.
You give people the finger and you get upgraded? Is that the world we're living in now? I wish her the best. You take one 'A' off of that and you've got gag. I don't know what these young people think or how they promote their careers. I'm older, I'm 56....I'm not one of these all-publicity-is-good people. People talk about you need exposure — you could die of exposure."

Word, Jerry.
