It’s
Monday and I have to work today …WTF … so I thought I’d start off with a smile.
When
you go to a restaurant, you expect to get served, and when you leave the
restaurant and leave a nasty comment on their Facebook page, you really get
served. Ask Debbie Eaton, who dined at Dakota’s Steakhouse of Hereford, Texas, and
then showed her homophobia on social media:
“I will
not be back if boys look like women with nails painted and are serving
people. Seriously.”
And when another homophobe agreed with Debbie Downer, she
went back to Facebook to add:
“ugh nails longer than mine Eyebrows painted on and make up
wtf Scott came unglued so gross oh and a sparkly choker necklace.”
And all this bigotry and hatred, and lack of grammar and punctuation,
caught the attention of Dakota’s
Steakhouse owner, Josh Murray, who stood up for his staff and then,
well, he served Debbie:
“At Dakota’s Steakhouse we support our staff 100%. No matter
their religion, race, criminal history or sexuality; I don’t judge. I choose to
provide an opportunity of employment for everyone. If this offends you then
please stay at home. After all if you could cook Debbie, then maybe Scott
wouldn’t be looking at his server all night.”
And mic drop.
After Josh’s serving the restaurant’s reviews have lit up with
people offering congratulations for not only supporting his staff, but for
showing support to his LGBTQ+ staff:
“I love that a business supports ALL people and as a mom of
a LGBTQ child and an ally, I would love to come eat at this restaurant. Keep up
the amazing work and I bet your staff are amazing.”
“Great management who supports their employees. Worth visiting if only for
that fact.”
“great team and supportive of their staff against ignorance and bigotry. well
done.”
This is one time I wish Texas was closer because I’d go to Dakota’s
and ask for the serve with the sparkly choker.
Heck, maybe I’d see Debbie’s husband Scott there … |
