McTurtle rarely spoke about the bill because, you know, evil works best as a surprise but then it finally had to be revealed, or reviled, and now he’s talking.
And talking up this new Senate bill, GOPDon’tCare, that would devastate millions of Americans, raising the costs of insurance for most of us, denying coverage to even more, but, you know, giving a tax break to the wealthiest Americans because that’s all the GOP cares about.
So, McTurtle poked his head out of his shell yesterday, trying, and failing, at least right now, to get a vote on his hate-filled piece of legislation, and trying to deny the fact that the Congressional Budget Office [CBO] found that 22 million Americans would lose coverage under his plan and millions more would spend thousands of dollars in increased out of pocket cost.
“The Senate will soon take action on a bill that the Congressional Budget Office just confirmed will reduce the growth in premiums under Obamacare, reduce taxes on the middle class, and reduce the deficit.”
Those are lies. Think about that, especially uyou Kentucky morons who keep voting this liar back into office, you Kentucky morons who will no doubt lose health insurance, who will no doubt pay more in taxes because you keep reelecting this fool.
First of all, the facts is that more than 90% of tax cuts will go to the richest 1% of Americans and more than half to the wealthiest 0.1%. Middle-class families and virtually everyone else will pay more in taxes under McConnell’s plan.
Cool! Lose insurance, pay more taxes! That’s the GOP way!
Second, premiums will skyrocket for the majority of Americans, especially those who need care the most, and the elderly living on social security.
But one thing McTurtle failed to mention, while salivating over his plan to help his billionaire buddies at the expense of everyone else, was the 22 million Americans whose health coverage he is taking away because he serves billionaires.
Seriously; that’s his bill. Many lose coverage and pay more in taxes while the wealthiest Americans who can afford insurance anyway, get a huge tax break.
And don’t get me started on the massive cuts to Medicaid—you know, that thing _____ promised he wouldn’t touch—that will also hurt those most in need.
If that sounds fair to you, sit back down and STFU; if that somehow doesn’t seem fair, pick up a goddamned phone and call your Senators now and tell them if they vote for this atrocity you will work your ass off to vote them out of office.

GOP Congressman Wants US To Join Forces With ISIS ... Are We Really Surprised By That?

Gosh, just as more and more of us are understanding that _____ is an uninformed, ill-qualified, mentally defective bully, along comes another Republican to try and wrestle the crown from that nest of muskrat fur atop the president’s head.
And I’m looking at you, California GOP Congressman Dana Rohrabacher.
See, Dana recently praised the ISIS attack in Tehran as a “good thing” and then actually suggested that the United States work with the terrorist organization. Yup, a Republican wants America to join forces with a radical organization that beheads civilians, rapes and sells women, and burns people alive. Isn’t that fun?
“We have recently seen an attack on Iran, and the Iranian government, the mullahs, believe that Sunni forces have attacked them. This may signal a ratcheting up of certain commitments by the United States of America. As far as I’m concerned, I just want to make this point and see what you think, isn’t it a good thing for us to have the United States finally backing up Sunnis who will attack Hezbollah and the Shiite threat to us? Isn’t that a good thing?”
Yup, he wants a US-ISIS coalition because, as long as ISIS is attacking the “right” people, we oughta help, and that, ladies and gentleladies, is the GOP finally coming clean as a wannabe terrorist organization.
And yet, should we be surprised at the idea of Republicans as terrorists? This is the GOP, and their tribal mentality, that their agenda comes before the country ... party over people. And as long as a Republican sits in the White House, as long as the GOP controls the Congress, hooking up with terrorists is a “good thing”.
Any political group that holds this thought—that ISIS can become an ally if they do something to further the GOP anti-Muslim “ideology”—is a party that has no morals, no sense of right and wrong, and that party is the GOP.
That’s why they are dead-set to destroy health care for millions in order to give millionaires a tax break; that’s why they are out to destroy public lands, national parks, and Native American lands, for a few extra coins in their pockets; that’s why they shed crocodile tears at the amount of gun violence and dead Americans while cashing those NRA checks; that’s why they can cut off funding programs for children’s health ... for the poor ... for the elderly ... for veterans ... without so much as a second-thought.
That’s the GOP, and goddess help us all while they are in power.

The Resistance Continues ...

Not quite three weeks into the _____ Regime and we have our first casualty with Michael Flynn resigning his post as National Security Advisor because he either lied to Vice president Mike Pence about things he may or may not have said to Russian diplomats and ambassadors, or he told the truth to Pence and then Pence lied to We The People.
Either way it’s just another liar in Hair Furors inner circle and the first to go.
But this isn’t about that, it’s about The Resistance and how it continues, and how it’s growing, and how it will work to change this mess we’ve gotten ourselves into by being complacent and thinking this could never happen.
Up in Raleigh, North Carolina, over 80,000 people marched against the _____ administration, and the policies he will try to enact with the GOP-led Congress on immigration, health care, gun control and civil rights.
The Reverend William Barber, president of the North Carolina NAACP branch, and leader of the “Moral Monday” movement:
“A racist and greedy extremism that came to power in North Carolina four years ago now controls the White House and the Congress in D.C. Millions are afraid. A loud majority is outraged and the whole world is in turmoil asking what can we do. Well, we know we’ve got a hard fight ahead, but we know how to win.”
Resist. Stand up. March. Speak up. Vote.
Barber has called Hair Furor an “extremist, narcissistic con artist” who is “obviously unsuited for the job of president” and said he and others were marching “because it’s wrong to defend and excuse the lies and the fear and the hate of _____ism” that has brought “extreme federal appointees and white nationalists into the White House ...
“It’s wrong and it’s racist and it’s demonic to (instill) fear into our immigrant and our Muslim brothers and sisters. It’s wrong to build a wall to keep Mexicans out while you let the Russians in. Bowing down is not an option. Standing down is not an option. The guy in the White House is a mortal, not a god.”
And he’s got to go, and the more we march and speak out the more the movement grows; but it’s in the voting booth that the resistance turns real.
End the fear and hate that the GOP propagates as they try to serve only themselves and keep everyone else down.
Resist.
And then, up in St. Paul, Minnesota, about 500 people attended a protest against Planned Parenthood organized by the #ProtestPP Coalition to urge Congress to defund the organization.
Other marches were held around the country but it’s the one in ST. Paul that makes me the happiest because, while these 500 fools marched to defund Planned Parenthood, they were met by a group that was marching in support of the organization ... a group of over 5,000.
Five hundred against; five thousand in support. Strength in numbers y’all.
The Resistance, and the march, goes on ...

Former sheriff Richard Mack has been called the “Constitutional Sheriff” because, well, he’s all about the guns, and all about hatin’ The Gays and all about opposing Obamacare.
So … we could spend time talking about his involvement with the Cliven Bundy Mad Rancher Crisis last year, where Mack suggested using women as shields against those “rogue” federal officers so the images of women getting shot would be televised worldwide and he would be spared.
Or we could spend time talking about Richard Mack posing alongside his friend, Las Vegas shooter Jerad Miller — also a “defender” of Bundy Ranch — who, along with his wife, murdered two police officers in Las Vegas, draping a TeaParty flag over their bodies.
And maybe we could talk about how he demanded an uprising against LGBT rights in Utah because, well, something about Boy Scouts and teachers and The gays shoving something down his throat.
Instead, we’re going to talk about how Richard Mack, a vocal opponent of Obamacare, had a heart attack and has no insurance. We’re going to talk about Dawn Mack, his wife, who has her own health issues, and no healthcare. We’re going to talk about the GoFundMe page created by Mack’s son where he’s asking for family, friends, and complete strangers to pay t5he Mack’s medical bills for them “because they are self-employed, they have no medical insurance and are in desperate need of our assistance.”
Mack, who is on the board of Oath Keepers — a nonprofit organization that advocates that its members [mostly and former U.S. military and law enforcement personnel] to disobey any orders that they are given if they believe they violate the Constitution of the United States — and is the founder of the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association, does not like the idea of people receiving help to pay for medical insurance, but he has no problems with creating a website beg in order to pay his own bills:
“Since it appears that recovery will take a good deal of time with associated expenses, I struggle to not feel stress – both the stress of thinking about huge hospital and other medical bills as well as regular living expenses while I am unable to work — and also the stress of not being able to accomplish what I am so passionate about doing for others. It is difficult and humbling to say that we need your help, but we do."
Mack’s GoFundMe campaign has raised nearly $20,000 so far, though a great many more people have taken to the page, and Twitter, to question his money beg when , well, had he just signed up for Obamacare, he might not need to ask for our coins for his bills.
I feel bad for Mack, and his wife, but there is that old saying, ‘You’ve made your bed, now go lie in it.” Mack has worked and worked to fight the federal government in every which way, and fight Obamacare in every which way, and now, well,, after he made the decision to opt out of health care, he needs our help to pay his bills.
As they said on Addicting Info, and I’ll paraphrase: Richard Mack can go ‘fund’ himself.

Funny Story

A while back we got a new boss at work and, as happened with the new guy, he wanted to implement a new policy. So he shared with us his ideas, and while some of us weren't keen on it, when it came down to a vote it was adopted and accepted.
But then some of us didn't like it and we decided to sue to make it all stop.
We lost; the plan was going ahead.
But then, a small group of us got together again and thought, "Hey, let's get all the employees together and vote on this new policy and get rid of it."
We did; and we lost that vote.
But, undeterred, and apparently unwilling to do anything else that our jobs required of us, we decided to vote again. And again. And again...again...again.
We voted 42 times and the results were always the same: the plan was in.
But then we hit on another solution. We would simply shut the business down until the boss, and those morons who liked the plan, got rid of it.
And then .... hmmm ... wait a second ... oh yeah ... that wasn't us, that's Congress, because if we had done that at our jobs we would have been fired.
Which makes me think ..... Vote.Em.Out.

Papa John: Let Them Eat Cake
John Schnatter, AKA Papa John, doesn't like healthcare. In
fact, all through the election, he supported Mitt Romney, and even raised money--no
doubt off pizza--for the Romney/Ryan campaign, because he doesn't like
healthcare.
See, under the Affordable Health Care Act, any company with 50 or more
employees, any employee working fulltime [30 hours or more per week] need
to be provided health insurance. Schnatter claims that the health care
reform will force his company to increase pizza prices by 10-14 cents a pie,
which he says will cost him some $5-8 million a year, or else he'll be forced
to fire employees to stay under the fifty employee line.
Let's see how his thoughts stack up:
Last year, Papa John’s International had some $1.218 billion in revenue, with total operating expenses of $1.131 billion. If Papa
John's math is accurate that Obamacare will cost his company $5-8 million more annually
that translates to a 0.4% to 0.7% expense increase.
Now, it's hard to figure out what that 0.4% might costs per pizza, given
the different sizes available and all those tasty toppings from which to
choose. But, for the sake of argument, if Papa John’s sells exactly half
medium/half large specialty pizzas, then averaging that product yields a .86%
price increase, which is well below the range of what billionaire John
Schnatter says Obamacare will cost him. In fact, his prices would need to increase from 3-to4 cents per pizza so
that his employees can have health care.

Now, that is a
cost that maybe John Schnatter, who lives in a castle with a moat, mind you,
doesn't want to pay, but let's not forget that just last September, the
company announced that it would be giving away 2 million free pizzas. That would
be the equivalent of $24 million to $32 million in pizza revenue.
And that would be
okay, because it was done to promote brand awareness and increase business, not
allow people, Papa John employee people access to health care.
Also to be noted,
ever since John Schnatter bitched about having to charge more for pizzas so his
employees could be covered under Obamacare, shares in Papa
John’s International took a bit of a tumble, falling from $51.70 market close
last Wednesday to $49.22 close on Monday, a 4.2% drop.
Four.point.two.percent.
That’s a lot more that 3-cents a pizza, no?
John Schnatter,
the 1%, working hard to keep his employees unhealthy because, well, moats cost
money and it’s hard to heat a castle.
Disclaimer: Before anyone thinks that i begrudge Schnatter for his millions, and his castle, his moat, his private gold course, and his underground, 22-car parking garage with its own valet and car wash, let me say that he is an American success story. But he's a bit out of touch if he thinks the public won't buy a pizza because it costs 3-cents, 4-cents, 10, cents, 14,m cents more, if that money spent allowed his employees access to health care which might actually save the rest of us money since we won't be burdened with paying the bill for those uninsured employees.
Just sayin'.

That's Our Nikki: She Doesn’t Care About The Poor, The Elderly and The Disabled
Nikki Haley so wants to be like Mitt that she has made it clear that she will not expand Medicaid, thereby punishing the poor, the elderly and the disabled of South Carolina.
She says: “South Carolina will NOT expand Medicaid, or participate in any health exchanges. We will not support Pres. Obama’s tax increase or job killing agenda. I WILL do everything I can to get Mitt Romney elected and work to strengthen our Senate so that we can repeal this unAmerican policy aimed at moving our country in the wrong direction.”
So, Haley, like a good GOP lapdog, wants to snub President Obama. That's nothing new; Nikki is one of the lead Goosesteppers in The Party Of No, but the people of South Carolina, especially the poor, elderly and disabled, ought to know what she means by that.
By not expanding Medicaid, some people will be left to die.
According to a new study published in the New England Journal of medicine, residents of states that expand coverage will probably live longer, be healthier and have better access to medical care:
'Medicaid expansions were associated with a significant reduction in adjusted all-cause mortality....Mortality reductions were greatest among older adults, nonwhites, and residents of poorer counties. Expansions increased Medicaid coverage....decreased rates of uninsurance....decreased rates of delayed care because of costs....and increased rates of self-reported health status of “excellent” or “very good”.'
So, you go, Nikki. Get Romney elected and let the people of South Carolina suffer, and perhaps, die for it.

Dems Mock The GOP For Protecting Their Own Health Care In 33rd Repeal Vote
Oh that wacky GOhP—the Grand Old Hypocrite Party….the ‘h’
is silent—they are just too, too much. Of nothing.
While voting, for the 33rd time to repeal the
health care reform law—and voting not once for a jobs creations bill—the Republicans
voted to keep their own enhanced medical care.
See, they get healthcare, but many Americans don’t, and
the GOhP wants to keep it that way.
Back when Congress passed the health care law, members of
Congress were required to get their insurance on exchanges with the rest of the
public, but, in voting to repeal that law, the GOhP, and some asshatted Democrats,
too, also voted to go back to the old system where the lawmakers get a better health care package than most
of the rest of us.
Yup, politics at work, thanks to the GOhP.
And they also voted against a Democratic motion that said members of
Congress who support repealing the health care law must also repeal the some of
the benefits they already receive, like lifetime care and insurance regardless
of pre-existing conditions.
Yup, they get a sweeter deal, while denying many
Americans any kind of health care whatsoever.
And the GOhP thought they could sneak in those perks for
themselves—while voting yet again to repeal health care reform—but several Democrats
videotaped several members of the GOhP—like GOhP budget
slashing-goose-stepping, hangdog-looking, Paul Ryan—saying, er, lying by
saying, that they didn't vote to protect
their own care.
Jesse Ferguson, spokesman for the Democratic Congressional
Campaign Committee, referring to the fact that members of Congress are eligible
for retirement benefits after just five years, said, “House Republicans refuse
to admit they voted to give themselves taxpayer funded lifetime guaranteed
health care instead of having the same health care as their constituents. House
Republicans didn’t just vote to protect insurance company campaign donor
profits this time, they’re even helping themselves to lifetime taxpayer-funded
government health care and now they need to be honest with their constituents
and admit it.”
Funny, that. The GOhP being honest.
