WASHINGTON DC

House Speaker and Good Christian Nationalist Mike Johnson went down to Mar-Illegal this week and came back to tell us that he is proposing a bill to make it illegal for undocumented immigrants to vote and the Cult cheered.

Of course, none of them made note of the fact that it’s already illegal for undocumented immigrants to vote.

You cannot fix stupid … and liars.

COLORADO

Don Wilson, a Republican state representative left a loaded, semiautomatic handgun in a bathroom at the Colorado Capitol on Tuesday night at the same time that Democrats are trying to ban firearm possession in the building and the GOP is fighting them.

And yet the Wilson’s idiotic actions have proven why the Democrats stance in needed when even a so-called legislator can’t keep track of a loaded firearm.

KENTUCKY

Brian Ormes, a Republican candidate for state House of Representatives was arrested and booked for first-degree strangulation, menacing and fourth-degree assault with no visible injury.

According to Fort Wright police, the incident happened on Monday night when a 17-year-old male reported being assaulted by Ormes  inside the Walmart. Police say Ormes admitted to being in an altercation with juveniles because of their unruly behavior in the store, which he said impacted the safety of his child.

So he strangled a kid?

FLORIDA

While family and friends distributed posters of George Riley Jr., a missing Republican Party of Florida executive director, it was discovered that he was holed up in a Hampton Inn, where authorities say he trashed his room.

Riley was kicked out of a room at the Hampton Inn in Kissimmee after a desk clerk observed him “under the influence;” employees of the hotel had talked to Riley in his hotel room and found that he had “urinated and vomited throughout.” The assistant general manager noted that Riley was purchasing alcohol while staying at the hotel, and that he had bought so much booze from the store inside the hotel that the manager had to order more.

ARIZONA

After the Arizona Supreme Court upheld their 1864 abortion law, which calls for 2-5 years in prison for anyone involved in performing an abortion, Kari Lake fired off a statement saying that she disagrees with the decision and hopes that the voters will overturn it in a referendum this November when her Senate race is also on the ballot against Ruben Gallego.

There’s just one big problem for lying, hypocritical fraudster Kari Lake … when she was running for Governor in 2022 she said the exact opposite repeatedly, saying she hoped that the Supreme Court would “do the right thing” and overturn Roe.

Huh, Kari Lake is a liar? Go figure …

IOWA

Governor Kim Reynolds signed a bill into law this week making it a crime for an undocumented immigrant to be in Iowa. The law, which takes effect July 1, has elevated anxiety in Iowa’s immigrant communities and mirrors part of a Texas law that is currently blocked in court.

Even local police officers in the state are confused about the bill; Des Moines Police Chief Dana Wingert says immigration status does not factor into the department’s work to keep the community safe and that most police agencies are “not equipped, funded or staffed” to take on federal government responsibilities.

But, hey, the Governor wants Brown people arrested.

LOUISIANA

The Louisiana House Committee on Education advanced House Bill 121 by GOP Representative Raymond Crews that prohibits the use of transgender and nonbinary youth’s chosen names and pronouns in public K-12 schools without parental permission. In addition, House Bill 122 by GOP Representative Dodie Horton would limit discussion of gender and sexuality in public K-12 schools.

The Legislature approved both bills last year, though then-Governor John Bel Edwards, a Democrat, vetoed them, and Republicans were unable to overturn his action. But now Louisiana has a GOP Governor, Jeff Landry, who  filed a card in support of both Crews’ and Horton’s Hate Bills.

GOOD NEWS

MAINE

After a fiery debate over a bill to protect health care workers who provide abortion and gender-affirming care from out-of-state lawsuits crossed a line in the Maine House and lead to lawmakers censuring two Republicans.

GOP Representative Michael Lemelin claimed that the mass shooting that killed 18 people last October in Lewiston, Maine and the recent winter storms were God’s revenge for “immoral” laws adopted by legislators, and he described the shield bill as “inspired by Lucifer himself” another GOP lawmaker, Shelley Rudnicki, announced that she agreed with Lemelin’s remarks.

House Speaker Rachel Talbot Ross told Lemelin and Rudnicki that the remarks were “extremely offensive and intentionally harmful to the victims and the families of the Lewiston tragedy, the House of Representatives, and the people of Maine.”

But, hey, God …

KANSAS

Democrat Governor Laura Kelly vetoed a bill that would ban transgender minors from receiving gender transition surgeries and hormone therapy, setting up another veto override fight over GOP efforts to regulate the lives of trans residents.

Kelly says the bill dictates to parents how to best raise and care for their children, adding that the legislation is not a “conservative value, and it’s certainly not a Kansas value” and “tramples parental rights.”

The measure passed in the Senate 27-13 with a veto-proof majority. The House vote was still two votes short of a veto-proof margin. But if two House Republicans who were absent from the initial floor vote now vote to override, the House would gain the two-thirds majority necessary.

And that’s just a small taste of GOP lunacy ... pardoning traitors for political points; gibberish speakers; anti-military criminals; lunatics and Big Liars; Christian Nationalist Nazi sympathizers; party over country fools; unfit for political office; liars and flip-floppers; and Arizona.

MICHIGAN

Republican Jacky Eubanks, Thing 45’s pick for a state Senate seat. is promising to ban all birth control if elected:

“I guess we have to ask ourselves, would that ever come to a vote in the Michigan state legislature? And if it should, I would have to side with it should not be legal. People believe that birth control—it’s better because then you won’t get pregnant and you won’t need to have an abortion, but I think it gives people the false sense of security that they can have consequence-free sex, and that’s not true and that’s not correct. Sex ought to be between one man and one woman in the confines of marriage.”

Welcome to the 1950s and, please, one reporter, just one, please ask Jacky if she’s ever had sex outside marriage.

WASHINGTON DC

Catherine Glenn Foster, president of the Americans United for Life campaign group, was summoned by the GOP  as an expert witness during a House judiciary committee meeting on access to abortion and said this:

“In places like Washington D.C. [fetuses] are burned to power the lights of the city’s homes and streets. The next time you turn on the light, think of the incinerators.”

She was not questioned about where she gets her facts by any one ion the GOP because … ignorance and fear are the talking points.

VIRGINIA 

GOP Delegate Tim Anderson is threatening to file a restraining order against Barnes and Noble and Virginia Beach Schools to enjoin them from selling or loaning the books Gender Queer and a Court of Mist and Fury because he says they are obscene though neither book fits that definition, and neither book is pornography.

Barnes & Noble has yet to respond to the legal action but, as a private business, they are allowed to sell what they wish to sell and are under no obligation by anyone to move materials out of their facilities.

Still, to the GOP, Gay is Bad.

OKLAHOMA

The state Legislature gave final approval to a bill that prohibits nearly all abortions starting at fertilization, which would make it the nation’s strictest abortion law.

The bill is modeled on one that took effect in Texas, which has relied on civilian instead of criminal enforcement to work around court challenges, but it goes further than the Texas law because it also subjects abortion providers and anyone who “aids or abets” an abortion to civil suits from private individuals.

The GOP will force women to have babies, but not give a damn about the child once its born.

KENTUCKY

The state’s GOP Representative Thomas Massie cast the only vote against a House resolution honoring Jewish Americans’ heritage and denouncing a rise in violence motivated by antisemitism. The resolution passed the House with 420 votes with Massie’s ‘No’ and either Republicans abstaining from voting.

He voted No to simply denounce a rise in Hate Crimes, and ‘No’ against honoring Jewish American’s heritage.

Let that sink in.

NEW JERSEY

GOP State Senator Edward Durr has introduced legislation that would prohibit teachers from bringing LGBTQ-related instruction into classrooms from kindergarten through sixth grade, while students in seventh through 12th grade can “only” be exposed to LGBTQ topics if a parent gives consent.

If the bill is passed, parents would be allowed to sue schools that employ educators who violate the law by incorporating topics such sexual orientation or gender identity into the curriculum without a parent’s consent.

They will freely teach Hate, though.

GOOD

MAINE

When no adults would revive the community Pride parade in Belfast, Maine, a group of motivated Belfast Area High School students stepped up to make sure that the event—which has been on a pandemic hiatus—happens this year.

The city’s first-ever Pride parade and festival took place in 2016, and became an annual tradition, but no adult organizers had come forward this year to keep the tradition going after being canceled for the last two years due to COVID.

So, twenty high school students secured a permit from the city of Belfast, found sponsors, raised money for banners, flags and other expenses and grappled with the procuring of liability insurance.

That’s the future, y’all.

NEW HAMPSHIRE

GOP Governor Chris Sununu announced he would veto a piece of legislation, the “Parental Bill of Rights,” that critics say could require New Hampshire schools to out LGBTQ+ children to their parents.

A Republican with common sense? Who knew?

AMERICA

About two-thirds of Americans say they do not support overturning Roe v. Wade, and also shows that two-thirds of Democrats say the contents of the SCOTUS leak make them more likely to vote in November, as compared to just 40% of Republicans who said so.

This survey showed that voters would cast their ballot in favor of a Democrat in their local congressional district if the election were held today.

WYOMING

GOP Senator Cynthia Lummis, a Republican representing Wyoming in the U.S. Senate, speaking at commencements of several schools, including the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Education, and said that “the existence of two sexes, male and female” was a “fundamental scientific truth.”

She was roundly booed by the students, the educated students.

That is also the future, y’all.

KENTUCKY

A homework assignment given to several middle-schoolers at Christian Academy of Louisville [CAL] encouraged them to persuade an imaginary friend to reject homosexuality.

Not so much as Don’t Say Gay, as Don’t Be Gay. Screenshots show the assignment required students to write a letter to a hypothetical friend "struggling with homosexuality" and persuade them "God's design for them is good”:

"Assume that you have known this friend since kindergarten, that you go to the same church and that you have been pretty good friends over the years until now … The aim of your letter should be to lovingly and compassionately speak truth to the person you’re talking to in a way that does not approve of any sin. Instead, TRY TO PERSUADE THEM OF THE GOODNESS OF GOD’S DESIGN for them."

CAL School System Superintendent Darin Long said the assignment had been given as “part of a unit of study which discusses 'What are humans and where is their identity, and how a person could discuss homosexuality with a friend from a biblical perspective with compassion and love.

You’re sinning; you’re wrong: that doesn’t reek of compassion and love. Judgement. Not so Christ-like, CAL.

KANSAS

It seems the GOP’s newest strategy to win votes it to trot out that old ‘Gay Is Bad’ mantra that helped George W Bush take the White House in 2000. And Kansas’ junior senator, Republican Roger Marshall, is taking his culture war fight to Hollywood and cartoons.

Marshall sent a letter to the board of the TV Parental Guidelines asking it to update its criteria for the warnings it puts on children’s programming citing “parents raising legitimate concerns on sexual orientation and gender identity content on children’s TV shows.” When asked for a list of the offensive LGBTQ+ programming, Marshall spoke of Netflix’s “She-Ra and the Princesses of Power” and Nickelodeon’s “Danger Force” and the idea that normalizing these cartoons will turn kids gay.

I used to watch Bugs Bunny slap on a wig and squeeze into a pencil skirt to pull one over on Elmer Fudd and it didn’t turn me trans.

I also watched plenty of cartoons that were decidedly straight and they didn’t turn me hetero.

As Popeye said, 'I yam what I yam,' and it ain’t no cartoon’s fault..

TEXAS

Governor Greg Abbott and other GOP state lawmakers shifted about $1 billion in federal Coronavirus aid to help pay for their campaign to arrest migrants at the U.S.-Mexico border.

We just passed a million COVID deaths in this country and the GOP is using money that could have helped a COVID patient in a publicity stunt.

But, hey, immigrants bad.

AMERICA

Retired Army Lieutenant General, disgraced ex-National Security Advisor and QAnon High Priest Loon Michael Flynn is now spouting another ridiculous lie … that COVID vaccines contain “dormant pathogens” that will be triggered into action when 5G towers issue an 18 gigahertz signal for one minute causing the IP36 gene deletion among the vaccinated to be activated and turning them into zombies.

Looks like Flynn’s brain has already been eaten by the undead.

TEXAS

The state Supreme Court has ruled that neither GOP Governor Greg Abbott nor GOP Attorney General Kern Paxton had the authority to order child abuse investigations of families that provide certain medical treatment for their transgender children.

The downside is that the court did not go so far as to order a blanket ban on all such investigations, saying that decision was up to the Department for Family and Protective Services [DFPS].

Still, it’s a step …

FLORIDA

Lyman High School students were upset after school officials announced that they would cover up any yearbook photos that displayed any part of a “Don’t Say Gay” student-led walkout last March, causing a delay in yearbook production so the book could fit in with homophobic school board policies.

But the yearbook controversy has ended and Lyman High School students will receive a complete yearbook, without covered photos and captions, after the Seminole County Public Schools board voted unanimously to put disclaimer stickers in the yearbook instead of covering three … three … photos from that student walkout.

The photos in question? Students holding Rainbow flags and a “Love is Love” sign, along with quotes from students sharing their views on the legislation and why they participated in the protest.

A small win, but I’ll take it.

FLORIDA

We know that GOPQAnon Governor Ron DeSantis signed the bill to dissolve Disney’s Reedy Creek Improvement District last week, but now comes the question of who pays all the news taxes, and Orange County Tax Collector Scott Randolph says:

“The moment that Reedy Creek doesn’t exist is the moment that that those taxes don’t exist. You’re literally taking $163 million a year of taxes that Disney pays for Reedy Creek and wiping it down to zero. I don’t see that Orange County doesn’t raise property taxes by 20% to 25%. That’s what Orange County would probably have to do to cover this financial situation.”

But, hey, DeSantis smacked a cartoon mouse!

FLORIDA [Again]

Dozens of books were recently taken off Walton County schools library shelves  and School Superintendent A. Russell Hughes said:

“I did it for just a welfare of all involved, including our constituents, our teachers, and our students. I’ll continue to do those things and perhaps add some.”

One of those books was “Everywhere Babies,” published twenty years ago as an ode to infancy. It has long been a staple of family bookshelves, libraries, bookstores, a recommendation in new parent groups, and a Best Seller. So, why was it removed? Don’t Say Gay.

Though there are not any explicitly LGBTQ persons depicted in the book, author Susan Meyers says she believes her book was banned due to a single drawing of a man with his arm on another man’s shoulder.

A fundraising message sent by GOP state Senator Tom Barrett, who is seeking the Republican nomination for the newly drawn 7th Congressional District, claims:

“President Biden is forcing 5-year-olds to learn about gender reassignment surgeries, gender identities, and other radical ideas. Every American needs to step up TODAY and stop this sick and twisted ideology from poisoning our children.”

Barrett’s original fundraising appeal came via text and appeared to be an appointment confirmation for “Your Child” to receive “Gender Reassignment Surgery Tomorrow at 9 AM”  and asks:

“If you would like to CANCEL this appointment because you do not believe in teaching young children about dangerous transgender ideologies, please sign your name NOW.”

He has zero qualifications or ideas so he runs on fear and lies.IDAHO

Lt. Governor Janice McGeachin, who is running for governor, will appear with Stew Peters for a political rally next month.

Stew, who? Peters is a white nationalist who supports Vladimir Putin, who, he claims, is “more honest than anyone in our government.” Peters is a racist who claims Russia is “the only country that’s not under the thumb of the criminal banking cabal.” He’s a white supremacist who popularized the conspiracy theory that COVID-19 is actually a synthetic form of snake venom and has repeatedly called for Dr. Anthony Fauci to be executed.

And Janet McGeachin wants to appear at a rally with him.

Seriously, Idaho? This is the best you can do.

TEXAS

Proving himself to be a huge asshat, Texas GOPQAnon Governor Greg Abbott’s rule that doubled the inspections for commercial trucks coming in from Mexico, because he says the trucks were carrying undocumented immigrants and drugs,  caused delays that cost the U.S. nearly $9 billion in gross domestic product.

The rule was in effect until, Abbott realized his dumbfuckery.

Another “government is too big Republican” costing millions, er, billions, to the American people because they haven’t a clue what’ s going on.

TENNESSEE

GOP lawmakers passed legislation making camping on public property a misdemeanor crime, a law which effectively criminalizes homelessness. 

Poverty is now a crime in Tennessee, y’all, and you can face a misdemeanor offense and a $50 fine or community service requirement if you don’t have a home.

ARIZONA

The Senate passed two controversial education bills last week, one that will empower parents to sue if they feel like educators are interfering with their right to direct their child’s upbringing, and another that would assist parents in monitoring their child’s library habits.

Let me say this, you wingnut GOP parents: rather than sue a teacher for doing his or her job, why not quit your job, stop going to Starbucks, buy a smaller house, and homeschool your precious babies so you can raise them to be ignorant fucks like yourselves?

TENNESSEE

A Memphis prosecutor has dropped all criminal charges against Pamela Moses, the Memphis woman who was sentenced to six years in prison for trying to register to vote after her probation officer filled out and signed a form indicating she was done with probation for a 2015 felony conviction.

For trying to register to vote. In case it isn’t obvious, because this is still America, land of the White Free, Pamela Moses is a Black woman.

Although Moses was convicted last year and sentenced in January, she was granted a new trial in February after it was learned that her defense council has not been privy to certain documents in the hands of prosecutors.

Now, finally, the charges are dropped.

KENTUCKY

U.S. District Judge Rebecca Grady Jennings has temporarily blocked a state law that effectively eliminated abortions in Kentucky after the state’s two remaining clinics said they couldn’t meet its requirements.

The decision was a victory for abortion rights advocates and a setback for the GOP-led, anti-women legislature, which passed the law in March and then overrode Democratic Governor Andy Beshear’s veto of the measure last week.

Both of the clinics have resumed healthcare services for the women who chose to make their own choices.

It’s a free state if you’re rich, if you give millions to his re-election campaign, if you’re a wealthy developer or if you’re a CEO of a big corporation.

Bit by bit. DeSantis is taking away everyone else’s freedoms.

Freedom to put solar on your roof? No! Freedom to vote? No! Freedom for women to make their own health care decisions? No! Freedom to be who you are? No! Freedom for local government to decide local issues? No!

Freedom for children to read ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’? No! Freedom for businesses to offer diversity training for employees? No! Freedom to afford a place to rent? No!

ALABAMA

GOP Governor Kay Ivey has signed two anti-LGBTQ+ bills into law, a day after the state Legislature passed the legislation along party lines on the last day of the legislative session.

SB184 criminalizes gender-affirming surgeries for trans youth.

HB322, is Alabama’s ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill, which also only allows people in schools to use the bathroom of the gender listed on their birth certificate.

Alabama and Kay Ivey and the GOP hate LGBTQ+ people.

Washington DC

Six GOP Congress members opposed a bill passed last week that encouraged efforts to document and preserve evidence of Russian war crimes during the war in Ukraine.

They don’t want to see evidence of war crimes because they don’t want to make Putin angry.

The six are, no surprise: Andy Biggs, Warren Davidson, Paul Gosar, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Tom Massie, and Scott Perry, and they are all  members of the House Freedom Caucus.

Vote. Them. Out.

Oklahoma

The GOP-controlled House gave final legislative approval last week to a bill that would make performing an abortion a felony, punishable by up to 10 years in prison. The bill will be sent to GOP Governor Kevin Stitt who says he will sign any anti-abortion bill that comes to his desk.

Governor Stitt, who contracted COVID in July 2020, announced a statewide day of fasting and prayer against COVID in December 2020.

On his inauguration day in January 2019, he declared that the primary mission of his administration would be to “bring people to Jesus.”

In April 2021, he signed into law a bill that legalizes running over protesters.

Cuz that’s what Jesus would do.

Tennessee

House and Senate Republicans are voting on legislation this week that would bypass the Supreme Court’s 2015 Obergefell ruling that finds same-sex couples have the same rights and responsibilities to marriage as their different-sex peers.

The bill creates all-age marriages classified as common-law “one man and one woman” unions while mandating the state defend in court any clerk who decides to not issue a marriage license for any reason.

Yes, The Gays can’t marry, but adults can marry children in Tennessee.

And now for some Good News …

KENTUCKY

Democratic Governor Andy Beshear vetoed a Republican-priority measure that would ban abortions in Kentucky after 15 weeks of pregnancy and regulate the dispensing of abortion pills because he questioned the constitutionality of the bill and criticized it for not including exceptions for pregnancies caused by rape or incest.

As an example, he said that a girl impregnated by her father—raped by her father—would have to notify him of her intent to get an abortion.

State lawmakers will have a chance to override the veto when they reconvene next week for the final two days of this year’s 60-day legislative session.

COLORADO

The left-leaning state has just enacted a law that enshrines a woman’s right to have an abortion in the state.

The Reproductive Health Equity Act affirms that pregnant people in Colorado have the right to continue a pregnancy and give birth or have an abortion, and it blocks public entities from denying or restricting that right.

Colorado joins 15 other states and Washington, D.C., in codifying the right to have an abortion either prior to a fetus's viability or throughout a pregnancy in state law.

CALIFORNIA

The California Senate Judiciary Committee passed SB 1327—legislation authored by Democratic Senator Robert Hertzberg and sponsored by Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom—to limit the spread of assault weapons and ghost guns.

Following the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision last December allowing Texas’s ban on most abortion services to remain in place, Governor Newsom directed his Administration to work with the Legislature to propose a measure, modeled on the structure of Texas’s abortion law, to enable private citizens to hold the gun industry accountable through civil litigation for the proliferation of illegal firearms.

SB 1327 allows private citizens to bring civil actions against any person who manufactures, distributes, transports, imports into the state or sells assault weapons, .50 BMG rifles, ghost guns, or ghost gun kits.

WISCONSIN

Kelly Ruh, a Wisconsin official who two years ago posed as a presidential elector for Thing 45 in an to overturn the 2020 election, lost her re-election.

Ruh sought a second term as an alderperson in De Pere but lost to Pamela Gantz. She received a subpoena from Congress earlier this year over her involvement in Stop-the-Steal efforts.

Please note that the Good News, the sensible news, comes from Democrat-run states, and Democratic Governors. That speaks volumes.

The other day Senator Ted Karen Cruz  got into a confrontation with employees at Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport which grew so heated that law enforcement had to get involved, a new video showed on Sunday. 

Cruz was spotted at the Montana airport on Sunday, apparently irritated that he had missed his flight and pitched a hissy because he’d missed the check-in window for his flight, and that re-booking options were 'limited out of Bozeman due to Spring Break.' 

As always happens with a Karen, someone was filing the exchange, which shows Cruz vigorously nodding his head in annoyance at the two female employees; he appeared less annoyed when the female employees stepped aside and a single male law enforcement officer took over. 

The person who took the video claims Cruz muttered something along the lines of ‘Don’t you know who I am’ to the police who says he did not know who the Karen was, until after Cruz had walked away.

One thing of note, the Texas Republican who last week claimed pilots and flight attendants regularly “hug “ at airports because of his stance against mask mandates, and who also proudly rode around DC in a big rig during the protest over mandates, was wearing a mask.

Cruz was finally able to leave that evening and all of Montana heaved a sigh of relief.

MILA AND ASHTON

Kudos to Mila Kunis and her husband, Ashton Kutcher, for their efforts to help the people of Ukraine during Putin’s attack on that country.

Kunis, a native of Ukraine, and Kutcher have set up a GoFundMe campaign that has so far raised over $35 million toward refugee and humanitarian aid efforts. The couple also pledged $3 million of their own money.

The couple’s GoFundMe is HERE, and then HERE is a list of other ways to help Ukrainian refuges.

KIM DAVIS

A U.S. judge ruled that a former Kentucky Kounty Klerk Kim Davis county knowingly violated the rights of same-sex couples by denying them marriage licenses in 2015, clearing the way for a jury trial seeking damages against her.

Davis thrust herself into the center of the same-sex marriage debate when she refused to issue marriage  licenses to same-sex couples citing the Baby Jeebus as her excuse.

The two couples in the lawsuit— David Ermold and David Moore, and James Yates and Will Smith— had sought to marry in the immediate aftermath of the landmark 2015 U.S. Supreme Court decision Obergefell v. Hodges, and sued Davis claiming she had violated their constitutional rights. Now, with the essential facts in the case now settled, the two couples  can proceed to jury trial to seek damages against Davis as an individual.

We haven’t heard about Bigot Kim in a long time and it’s nice to see that she’s lost her battle and can be sued.

During a Senate video call with Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Saturday, GOP Senators Marco Rubio and Steve Daines shared screenshots of the Zoom chat to their social media, despite being told not to do so due to concerns about the Ukrainian president’s safety.

These two fools put the man in danger by revealing his location.

This is what passes for leadership in  this country.

FLORIDA

On Friday, the Walt Disney Company responded to calls for action over the Florida House passing the ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill that would limit what classrooms can teach about sexual orientation and gender. Disney representatives sidestepped the bill itself  and instead recommitted itself more broadly to LGBTQ+ rights and then claimed its “inspiring content” is action enough.

Yes, cartoons and Gay Day more than make up for the silencing of the LGBTQ+ community.

AMERICA

The Great Trucker Convoy is making its way to DC to demand an end to all Covid-19 mandates and restrictions.

All those mandates and restrictions should be up by the time the MAGAt Convoy arrives, but go ahead, Red Hats., protest something that’s over while spending upwards of $5.00 or more a gallon for gas on your cross-country road trip to nowhere.

KENTUCKY

During a debate over anti-abortion legislation, GOP Representative Danny Bentley falsely said RU-486, or Mifepristone, a pill taken to induce abortion, was developed during World War II and was called Zyklon B, the gas that killed millions of Jews in the Holocaust. He also claimed that “the person who developed (it) was a Jew” and that Jewish women have a lower incidence of cervical cancer because “they only have one sex partner.”

This is what happens when you let men decide the healthcare choices for women.

WASHINGTON DC

Last week, when the House passed a resolution night to declare support for Ukraine’s sovereignty, only three votes were in opposition, all of them … guess what … from Republicans, Thomas Massie of Kentucky, Paul Gosar of Arizona, and Matt Rosendale of Montana.

The good news is that the resolution passed near-unanimously with a 426-3 vote.

Also of note is that when a House vote came up for the Emmett Till Anti-Lynching Act of 2022, which would designate lynching—extrajudicial killings typically committed against Black Americans, particularly during the Jim Crow era—as a federal hate crime the three Republicans who voted against that bill Thomas Massie of Kentucky, Chip Roy of Texas, and Andrew Clyde of Georgia.

Voted against making lynching a Hate Crime.

Again … CAST A GODDAMNED VOTE.

TEXAS

Republican Chip Roy is back again because he is concerned, y’all! He says innocent people are dying needlessly because a tyrannical government has grossly overstepped its bounds, and freedom and democracy are under attack and … wait for it … it’s all Dr. Anthony Fauci’s fault.

Appearing on Fox News Roy, an anti-vaxxing loon, used his time not to discuss the Russian invasion of Ukraine, but to peddle his conspiracy theory that the government is failing to report deaths caused by the Covid-19 vaccine.

Roy has no numbers to claim, no science to prove his wacknut theory, but he’ll say it because MAGAts will buy it.

MONTANA

GOP Governor Greg Gianforte—who once assaulted a reporter for asking him a policy question—killed a mountain lion on public land after it had been cornered in a tree for hours by hounds while he made his way from a different site.

What a man; he has dogs chase a gorgeous animal up a tree so he can get in car and drive over and shoot it to prove he’s so macho. Little bitch. I need a mountain lion to drive Gianforte up a tree, or the Montana electorate to drive him out of office.

TEXAS

A few weeks back, in this very space, we talked about GOP Texas QAnon nutjub Bianca Gracia announcing to the world that God had told her she would win her election, and if Texans failed to elect her they were "going to have to deal with it with the Lord."

Cut to last week and Gracia received 7.5% of the votes.

Even God took a look at her and went, ‘Nah.’
