#TransLivesMatter: Tamara Dominguez

Tamara Dominguez was hit by a car last Saturday night in Kansas City. Them the driver of the black Chevy Avalanche backed up and ran her over at least two or three times more.

Tamara Dominguez was a trans woman and police are deciding if this is a Hate Crime or not.

This is just the latest in a string of murders of trans women, especially trans women of color,  in this country; at least seven other trans women— Amber Monroe, India Clarke, K.C. Haggard, Elisha Walker, Kandis Capri, Ashton O’Hara—have been murdered in the last four weeks in this country. There have been 17 murders of trans women since the first of the year.

It has to stop.

And until it does each and every one of these murders needs to be classified a Hate crime and when, if, the perpetrators are found they should be punished to the full extent of the law.

#TransLivesMatter and until we stop this we cannot say we mean that.
