“Go fuck yourselves, the lot of you — you sad, attention-grabbing, power-hungry little men. Do not use our music or my voice for your moronic charade of a campaign.”
Would that this was a rallying cry for the entire country … and I’m lookin’ at you GOP wingnuts.

Though none of us currently in the organization were involved then, on behalf of today’s organization, I want to apologize to you and to your mother, Miss Helen Williams. I want to apologize for anything that was said or done that made you feel any less than the Miss America you are and the Miss America you always will be."
The upside is that Vanessa Williams is probably the most famous Miss America ever and one of the few who ever achieved any level of celebrity and success after winning that crown.

Emily Blunt, on becoming an American citizen, and then raising the ire of Fox News:
“I became an American citizen recently and that night we decided to watch the Republican debate, and I thought this was a terrible mistake. What have I done? I’m not sure I’m entirely thrilled about it.”
And that caused Fox & Friends co-host Anna Kooiman to suggest that Blunt leave Hollywood and let American actresses take on the roles she’s been getting. Because, you know, she doesn’t like Republicans.
And then Steve Douche-y, er, Doocy, another employee of Fox News, says Blunt has “Dixie Chicked” and now no one will see her movies.
Um, except people with brain cells who realize that [A] Blunt was joking, and [2] Fox News wouldn’t have been so pissy about this had Blunt said she was a Republican because Fox News?

Caitlyn Jenner, evolving on marriage equality:
“I want to help each of you understand something that I only recently embraced: Being different is okay – in fact, it’s great! But I also understand it takes some getting used to. Like many people, there was a time when I didn’t realize how important it is for gay couples to have the right to get married. But after hearing from my gay friends and learning more about the hardships they faced because of discrimination, it became clear to me that everyone should be able to marry the person they love. I can only hope that by sharing my story, there’s someone out there whose mind has been changed about trans people.”
I imagine her team of publicists and agents and promoters and those folks behind her E! show that would like a second season were very convincing in getting Caitlyn to ‘evolve’ in less than twenty-four hours.
