Bobservations

Last night I was watching the new season of Top Chef and Carlos came out and sat down so I told him about the show. I looked over and he was out. I said:

“What’cha doin’ sleepy?”

“I’m not sleepy. I was listening to you.”

“What did I say?”

“They’re cooking something …”

And this started a conversation we have quite often where Carlos falls asleep and I tell him that means he’s tired and should go to bed, and he, like a kid, says he’s not tired and wants to stay up a bit longer.

“Go to bed!”

So off he went at about 10PM and I followed about a half hour later; he was out like a light, a slight snore—either from him or Rosita—filled the room.

This morning, over breakfast, he says:

“I was tired last night. I’m glad I went to bed early.”

“You WENT to bed? I TOLD you to go to bed.”

“I don’t recall it like that.”

He’s such a child.

This Tuxedo Memory is from April 10, 2015when we had some weird wild weather here in Camden and Tuxedo was not playing:

#TooHot4Tuxedo

We went from the cold, with the heater on last Sunday, to running the AC on Wednesday because we were nearing ninety-degrees outside.

And Tuxedo was not having it ....”

I love his ‘Woe is me’ pose!

The American Bible Society will be closing down its Faith and Liberty Discovery Center in Philadelphia, just three years after the $60 million museum opened.

The ABS announced that the center was ending operations on April 1 after struggling from the jump, receiving just $54,000 in ticket sales for the tax year of July 2021 to June 2022, while reporting total expenses of around $11 million.

I guess God saw what they were selling and even She was buying it.

I love all these moans and whines about inflation and eggs and gas and everything else, but please to explain why people are paying hundreds … hundreds … of dollars for a canvas Trader Joe’s tote that costs just $3.00 originally.

Seriously people. First it was the Stanley cups and now this.

Maybe it’s like Swifty, who rerecorded all her albums  to 'reclaim' ownership of copyright in the master recordings of her musical works, following their sale by her former management company.

But then her fans, who had already purchased her music, purchased the new rerecordings, and then they paid for her Eras tour, and then they paid to see the Eras movie and now they’re paying to see the latest version of the Eras movie.

There’s a sucker born every minute.

Republicans on the House Oversight Committee tabled a motion to subpoena Jared Kushner, the son-in-law of, and former White House adviser to Mr-Former-Fake-One-Term-Twice-Impeached-Currently-Four-Time-Criminally-Indicted-Not-My-President-Gurl.

See, the GOP doesn’t give a damn that, while, working for the US government Jared Kushner and his husband Ivanka made some $2,000,000,000 from the Saudis when they are busy trying to prove that Joe Biden made $50,000 on a Hunter Biden deal.

That sounds about right, eh?

Arizona’s House Education Committee advanced a bill to allow public school teachers and administrators to post and discuss the Ten Commandments in the classroom.

This is Christian Nationalism at work, people, and it must be stopped.

We are a nation with Freedom of, and from, Religion.

I saw this on Facebook and it fits the South to a T:

“I know Mother Nature is going to put the South in an oven this Summer, We just got seasoned with Pollen and then stuck right back in the refrigerator to marinate.”

Funny, cuz it’s true.

In high-larious news, Mr-Former-Fake-One-Term-Twice-Impeached-Currently-Four-Time-Criminally-Indicted-Not-My-President-Gurl has not been able to get a bond to secure the $464 million fraud judgment against him.

Funny, a billionaire doesn’t have the cash on hand, and funnier that no one wants to help him because they know he’ll never pay that money back.

I Didn't Say It

Hunter Biden, in a USA Today op-ed, on his struggles with addiction:

“Over four years ago, I chose life over the slow strangle-death grip of addiction, which in my case consisted each day of a bottle of vodka and as many hits on a crack pipe as possible. I am prouder of that choice and of my recovery than anything I’ve ever done. My experience is not a unique one. At least 20 million Americans today suffer from substance abuse disorder. I don’t know a family that hasn’t been impacted in some way by addiction. What is distinct about my situation is that I’m the son of the president of the United States. Someone once told me, “Getting clean is easy, all you have to do is change everything.” That is one of the most profound truths I know today. The weaponization of my addiction by partisan and craven factions represents a real threat to those desperate to get sober but are afraid of what may await them if they do.”

Luckily, most people suffering from addiction won’t get attacked by Republicans seeking a minute of fame trying to use your addiction to punish your father.

Junior, on Newsmax, last night on Newsmax. Once again playing the ‘My Daddy is a victim’ card:

“It shows you what happens when you’re in a kangaroo court, Eric. It doesn’t matter what the rules are, it doesn’t matter what the Constitution says, it doesn’t matter what general practices and business would be. It doesn’t matter. They have a narrative, they have an end goal, and they’ll do whatever it takes to get there. They want to throw [Daddy] in jail for a thousand years and/or the death penalty. Truly sick stuff, but this is why we fight.”

When Daddy is a criminal, and his little pussy bitch sons are criminals, and it looks like his daughter is ready to squeal on the whole lot, it’s a good day in America.

Oh, and Junior? No one is threatening to give Daddy the Death Penalty. Goddess, even your lies are stupid.

Jake Tapper, CNN’s State of the Union host, accusing vile GOP Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene of selective outrage in her attempts to censure Palestinian American Michigan Democratic Representative Rashida Tlaib citing antisemitism:

"You’re never gonna believe who the Republican offering this motion to censure Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib is. I want you to take a guess. Go ahead. Take a guess. That’s right. It’s Marjorie Taylor Greene. The degree to which some folks only pretend to care about anti-Semitism when they can weaponize it never ceases to amaze. The leading Republican presidential nominee, [Thing 45]—he dined with Holocaust deniers [including Nick Fuentes]. [Thing 45] posted a screed accusing liberal Jews of 'voting to destroy America and Israel' last Rosh Hashanah to nary a peep from any House Republican leaders. I mean, Greene spoke at the White supremacist conference run by Holocaust denier, racist anti-Semite Nick Fuentes, who participated in that hateful 2017 Charlottesville rally. This is the same Marjorie Taylor Greene who has pushed the great replacement theory in videos. The deranged notion that rich Jews are trying to replace White Americans and Westerners with Blacks and brown Muslims. Not to mention, of course, her Jewish space laser conspiracy that a consortium including, yes, wealthy Jews, were using lasers on satellites to start forest fires. Antisemitism is not a cudgel to be used against people for political points. Nor is Islamophobia or racism, or anti-gay behavior or misogyny or any other kind of bigotry. This sh*t is not a game."

Large Marge Greene is the most vile, ill-informed, hypocritical, traitorous insurrectionist in a party filled with that kind of scum.

Jared Kushner, on Fox, showing himself to be a lying propagandist on the Saudi payroll:

“One of the ironies is that as an American Jew, you’re safer in Saudi Arabia right now than you are at a college campus like Columbia University. I spoke at the conference. They allowed me to speak freely, and what I sensed there was that there is obviously a very big discussion of what would happen with the tremendous terrorist attack perpetrated by Hamas. The people of Saudi Arabia have a lot of care for the Palestinian civilians, and so they would like to see Israel accomplish the mission, to make sure Hamas could be eliminated. They’re against terrorism in the region in general, and quite frankly, there’s a lot of enthusiasm to continue the trajectory that was set under the [Thing 45] administration.”

Any guesses on the 200,000,000,000 reasons Jared has for siding with Saudi Arabia right now?

Mike Johnson, newly elected House Speaker, who worked as the Ark Encounter’s lawyer, and found them millions in tax breaks:

“The Ark Encounter is one way to bring people to this recognition of the truth, that what we read in the Bible are actual historical events. Kentucky officials are smart to enthusiastically embrace the Ark Encounter, and the millions of tourists the park will welcome to the area from every viewpoint, race, color, religion and creed. Answers In Genesis aims to encourage critical thought and respectful public debate about the various attractions and ideas that will be presented at its park, and that is the beauty and essence of free speech.”

The Ark Encounter displays exhibits claiming that God created the earth no more than 6000 years ago and the humans and dinosaurs lived alongside each other … the Flintstones was real, y’all.

Mike Johnson is a columnist for the Ark Encounter’s website and regularly appears at its events.

It’s a yabba dabba doo time for loons like Johnson.

Bruce Springsteen, on the big difference between Democrats and Republicans:

“When you see the Democratic side of the House filled with brown people and Black people, straight people and gay people, and then you look at Republicans, who appears unchanged by history at this moment? They look ridiculous. And despite their current power they look like a failing party.”

When all you’ve got going for you is revenge and lie and a demented ex-president, you have no power. You’re a joke, and a cult.

I Didn't Say It

Caitlyn Jenner, who believes “biological boys who are trans” should be banned from participating in sports as their gender identity, now says there’s one exception to that rule:

“I’ve been very consistent with how I’ve tried to approach this, transgender athletes. It really depends on the sport. Every sport is different. Obviously, we saw with Lia Thomas [University of Pennsylvania swimmer], she had gone through male puberty, bigger cardiovascular system, it just wasn’t fair. Golf is a totally different game. It is a game of touch and feel. It is about your ability around the green, to get the ball out of the bunker. [Golfer Hailey Davidson’]s playing within the rules.”

There’s another difference between swimming and golf: Jenner participates in women’s golf tournaments herself, and if she kept her stance on banning trans women from sports then she would find herself banned. Caitlyn Jenner is a self-loathing hypocrite; banning trans women is fine for any sport in which Jenner chooses not to participate, but she’ll find any exception to the rule for the games she plays.

She can kindly fuck all the way off.

Jared Kushner, proving he’s as delusional as his father-in-law:

“For the last year, the one thing I’ve tried to put a priority on since leaving the White House is to getting some exercise in. My generation is, hopefully with the advances in science, the first generation that’s going to live forever or the last generation that’s going to die. So we need to keep ourselves in pretty good shape.”

Oh, I do think Kushner will be around forever, because he’s clearly a mannequin, and plastic can last for eons.

photo

Mike Turner, GOP congressman and Thing 45 whipping boy, on those classified documents stolen from the White House and taken to Mar-a-Lago:

“Certainly we all know that every former president has access to their documents. That’s how they write their memoirs. They don’t have, you know, great recall of everything that occurred in their administration. And we don’t know that they were classified. We know according to the FBI documents that they were identified as marked classified.”

They may have “access” to them, but they cannot take them with them when they are run out of office., No other president has done this, but the GOP thinks it’s okay because when their Traitorous Hair Furor  does it.

photo

Liz Cheney, on Kevin McCarthy:

“My views about Kevin McCarthy are very clear. The Speaker of the House is the second in line for the presidency. It requires somebody who understands and recognizes their duty, their oath, their obligation and he’s been completely unfaithful to the Constitution and demonstrated a total lack of understanding of the significance and the importance of the role of Speaker, so I don’t believe he should be Speaker of the House. And I think that’s been very clear.”

Snap. Even losing her election, Liz Cheney will still take on the goose-steppers in the GOP.
