I know very little about this house … other than it’s little … it’s in Kona on the big island of Hawaii … and it’s 100% off-the-grid living.
All the exterior walls are glass, with a center cube that contains a bedroom, two bunks, a literal hallway kitchen and bathroom—for those more darning there is also an outdoor shower.
If you’re feeling claustrophobic in your tiny glass block there is also the wrap-around deck and the landscape to enjoy. I might not like living in this every day, but ass a getaway house this suits my needs.
Plus, you know, Hawaii.
Lovely
ReplyDeleteI find the idea of 'off the grid' very appealing. Totally would live there, outdoor shower and all. I once went RVing and we had to shower outdoors. It was quite the experience, to tell you the truth, and I'm not talking about the crawlers I saw.
I like the way they have organized the furniture and the colors they've chosen. it looks like an apartment in a high rise. And Hawaii? Sign me up.
XOXO
I do love the seclusion, though I imagine you're not too far from civilization. Carlos might do a rethink about outdoor showers since his fear of snakes will get the best of him!
DeleteCute and relaxing.
ReplyDeleteRelaxing is the perfect word.
DeleteNice but not for me.
ReplyDeleteOh, but what fun the boys would have with all that glass!
DeleteI think staying there would basically count as glamping.
ReplyDeleteGlamping?
DeleteI could totally live with that!!
XOXO
This is the kind of "camping" or even glamping, that I could do!
DeleteI thought that first picture was a piece of cheese nestled in a whole lot of broccoli. Yes, I would live there! Hawaii is my favorite place to visit. I agree with Sixpence on this one. I don't rightly care what the house looks like, it's Hawaii!
ReplyDeleteI know right??
DeleteWho in their right mind would say 'no' to Hawaii???
XOXO
Deedles, now I cannot unsee the cheesy broccoli! But, yeah, I have lived in Hawaii and could find myself living there again.
DeleteLooks like enjoyable living.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this!!!! I'm obsessed with small homes lately...and as I get older...I need less and do do like a lot of space and clutter. This is beyond sweet. I absolutely love the selection choice for the floor and ceilings. What a nice choice to come back too!!!
ReplyDeleteI love it, too, though not sure I could live in it full-time, but it's perfect for a getaway!
DeleteSorry, no beach. Part of what make Hawaii a paradise are the beaches.
ReplyDeleteHaving lived there, I can attest that you are never really far from a beach.
DeleteI could do it---Looks like I have all I need---Outdoor showring does not bother me---There is a bathroom right---As long as I have electricity and WIFI and a little storage I am fine---I will need to see a floor plan before I transfer funds---
ReplyDeleteI think it's just a glass rectangle with a smaller interior rectangle to form the kitchen, the bedroom, the bunks and, I hope, a bathroom.
DeleteAbsolutely perfect. What more do you need? Except for Hawaii .. I'm more of a Nordic girl, but than all the glass might not be very economic (to heat) in winter.
ReplyDeleteOh shoot, It-is-I Brigitta, not anonymous. One of these days I'll get it right ..
DeleteHaving spent a great deal of time in Hawaii, I could live there, but then I worry: where on Earth would I vacation!
DeleteI like the blue, but it's not for me.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
I like it as a vacation spot, but for year-round living it might be too small.
Deletexoxo
I too love it! Why can't I have something like that to downsize into...small but has such style. I guess I may have to move to Hawaii I surmise.
ReplyDeleteI think a lot of the charm of this wee house is the location!
DeleteWhile it is indeed lovely, I don't think I would feel safe knowing anyone could see in (probably watched too many horror movies)!
ReplyDeleteNow all I can think is Horror House!
DeleteThat is definitely not for me. I have too much stuff, I need walls, not windows.
ReplyDeleteTrue, it's definitely a house for a minimalist!
DeleteI could live there
ReplyDeleteIt would be okay for a weekend but I wouldn't want to live there. Besides, it can get pretty hot in Hawaii so I am not sure how the glass walls would deal with that. Might be like living in a greenhouse.
ReplyDeleteLike the way it is surrounded by green.
