I don’t know if it was the confirmation of party boy, drunkard, sexual predator, Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court, or if it was the Pink Wave that swept into Congress earlier this month, but something has set the OHIO GOP into panic mode; and by panic mode, I mean, they have literally gone batshit crazy.
Last week, the Ohio state house passed a bill that to ban abortions at six weeks, a move that basically bans most abortions since performing the procedure before a pregnancy shows up on an ultrasound, which happens at about six weeks, is not medically recommended.
During debate over that bill to legislate women’s healthcare, an actual woman, albeit a Republican woman, and therefore a wingnut, Ohio state Representative Christina Hagan brought her infant twins onto the floor to shame women who aren't mothers about their alleged selfishness, saying:
"Motherhood isn't easy but it's necessary."
And then she introduced a bill, a law, legislation, to make motherhood mandatory. Naturally, Christina Hagan, in her attempt to paint women who choose abortion as lazy and selfish, doesn’t bear any responsibility in being truthful at all. While she claims that childbirth is needed to ensure the continuation of the human race, she failed to mention that the majority of women who choose abortion are already mothers; and those who aren’t mothers are often planning to have children in the future, unless of course people like Christina Hagan and Ohio have their way and force women to have babies.
But why not go after men? Why not find the men who got these women pregnant and force them to raise those kids; force them to be fathers? Oh yeah, I forgot, men. And women like Christina Hagan.
And while Hagan’s bill will more than likely never pass, keep in mind that after passing that anti-abortion bill, Ohio legislators are looking at a new bill that would reclassify fertilized eggs, embryos and fetuses as "persons" in the criminal code making women who choose abortion murderers.

FUCK YOU, BITCHCUNT! motherhood ain't for everybody (like me). dare say YOU personally (hagan) make a very shitty mother.

ReplyDeleteBecause what we need is lots more babies left in bathrooms and fire stations because desperate women with NO options can't find a way to feed themselves let alone another mouth MEANWHILE, the asshole GOP's are shaming people who are taking advantage of "ENTITLEMENTS". Seems to me, keep them down, keep them barefoot, keep them pregnant and in their place is alive and well.
ReplyDelete6 weeks? Are they insane? You may not know for weeks and weeks if you are pregnant! Especially if you are someone with irregular periods.
ReplyDeleteAnd motherhood is not necessary; at the rate the world is going people will not want to have children born into a world where we fight over what very little dirty water there is left and we'll be eating scrub leaves because that is all that is left after the rising oceans wipe out most of the world farming land and nuclear fall-out makes our hair drop out and... the doomsday scenario goes on and on.
No-one will be able to stop major corporations wrecking the world for another £ or $ profit more than last year. That stupid twazzock Elon Musk claims he will go and live on Mars - that's because that will be the only liveable place in the galaxy.
PS perhaps Ohio should make sperm count as persons and then that way any man not putting his sperm in an egg can be counted a murderer! No less batshit crazy than what they are already proposing.
ReplyDeleteLaughing hysterically here!! I mean, really, really laughing hysterically. Is there a clause saying you need to make sure your babies are white?
