I love that people who make money off the labor of others... labor those people do in order to survive - live a decent life, etc. view raising the minimum wage as a threat. Wouldn't you want your workers to be happy and comfortable? Won't that make them better workers? Less likely to steal from you? More likely to give a crap about their sucky job? Wouldn't you retain more loyal workers that way? I mean... the argument for is so much more beneficial for society than the one against. Yes, it will mean you, as a business owner make a little less - but how much will you be saving if you're not constantly monitoring your employees and replacing those employees? Why isn't this argument out there, Dems???? Wake up.
Uptonking speaks the truth. While I love and have good work ethic, I will only give the work I'm paid to do. My last job paid me well, so I had no problem going above and beyond for them.
if you don't pay people well, why should they break their back then?
I despise Fuckerberg with the intensity of ten thousand suns. He stole Facehook from his 'friends' out of greed and hunger for power. I don't like Bezos and i don't buy the whole 'Amazon experience'. Corporations don't like a minimum wage because they want to keep people working for pennies while they pocket the profits. People working two and three jobs to make ends meet and live paycheck to paycheck is the sign of the beast corporations and the rich pray to: capitalism.
I'm sorry but neither that creepy Zuck or the ghastly Bezos can possibly spend all the money they have in 200 lifetimes, so why not give their workers the minimum wage+? Treat them right, treat them good, treat them the way you know you should, to paraphrase Suzi Quattro.
Oddly, I dreamt about the disparity of wealth last night and woke up angry and stressed this morning. There was a peasant revolt ... that came to nothing.
As a teenager working at the
ReplyDeletepool my wage was 99 cents an hour.
Yup, they need to get moving on

The funny thing is that at some point both are going to die and their kingdoms will crash.
