  2. In my humble opinion, the cartoons by Marc Murphy and Gary Huck are especially inspired and powerful this week. Let's hope that that bird - Mark - shits on the reclining figure's face.

    1. I agree 100%. Murphy, along with Canadian cartoonist Michael de Adder, is one of my favorites.

  4. When the funny papers are no longer funny. Marc Murphy's drawing is so heartbreaking.
Adam Zyglis' cartoon points out what I just don't understand about this gun fetish thing the States has going on. Where does an American citizen feel safe? As a Canadian, I rarely feel unsafe in my community - though I won't walk alone after dark in neighbourhoods I don't know. But I can't think of time when I worried that someone might come into a place and start shooting. Don't get me wrong, we have had mass shootings and more often stabbings, but it seems to me the sheer volume of guns in the States just lends itself to these type of horrific events.
As for IQ45, I am more and more hopeful the last cartoon is accurate. It won't matter to his Magats...including the new speaker.

    1. Murphy is brilliantly talented.
Americans can't feel safe anywhere but they are all shooting sites to gun nuts.
I hope he gets royally screwed.

  5. So many powerful comments on guns, mass shootings and war. The battery-operated dove of peace is my fave.

Amen to all. So sad what this world has become, with little prospect for improvement.

    1. I hate to say it, but we really need to vote MAGAts from office because nothing will change about guns, climate change, the LGBTQ+ community, women's bodily autonomy and so much more.
      VOTE BLUE!!!!

  8. That last one: I certainly hope so.

You can really hear the frustration and hopelessness in Mark Murphy's cartoon. He tells it like it is. When Sandy Hook happened I really thought things would change, and it's appalling that here we are, more than a decade later, and things are WORSE.

    1. I really enjoy, if that's the right word, or appreciate Murphy's cartoons.
Now, that last one? Let's hope that comes true.

  10. The last one is perfect! I wake up in the morning and ask the MITM (he's usually reading the paper on his phone) "Is he dead?" Of course, he knows exactly to whom I am referring! xoxo
