Apparently Andy, who is, ironically enough, a physician from Maryland, had a bit of a hissy fit this week at the orientation meetings, and demanded to know why his government-subsidized health care plan takes a month to kick in.
A staffer who witnessed the exchange, says Dr. Andy The Asshat, "stood up and asked the two ladies who were answering questions...what he would do without 28 days of health care.”
Then, in typical Republican fashion, he asked if he could purchase insurance from the government to cover the 28-day gap in coverage. Hmmm, sounds suspiciously like a public option, to which Andy was vehemently opposed, saying it would lead to socialized medicine.
See, like any good Republican, he doesn't care about an issue until it affects him personally. Suddenly, he's without coverage and all hell breaks loose.
His spokeswoman, went into overdrive, saying Andy The Asshat wasn’t being hypocritical, but he was merely pointing out the inefficiency of government-run health care. Health care that he receives as part of his newly elected position while millions go without, and he wants to complain about waiting a month for it to start.
Republican hypocrisy at it's, um, finest.
