I can't imagine that pardon would pass constitutional muster, unfortunately. I DO love those poll results! And yay for Kathy Burke. We need to reclaim "woke" just like we need to reclaim "liberal."
The Photoshop is brilliant! I adore Kathy Burke. I agree with all on that British poll, but I wish some Brits would stop denying the existence of racial inequality in the UK.
I WOKE this morning to discover the Brits are obviously more aware of the #1 problem here than many colonists (sorry, can’t call them Americans.) They’re also onto the Karda$hians. Now, if Mitch would only take his own advice!
Every one of these is priceless and right on target. I hadn't heard of this British 'survey' and whether it's factual or not I cannot argue with its top two. (Never having followed the Kardashians in any form I'd better stop there!). The word 'woke' is not (yet?) generally considered to be disparaging over here, though I sense that it might be becoming so - through American 'influence'. As for now, I too am proud to consider myself as being a 'woke-r'.
Btw: One thing 'American' which always disturbs me and which is not explicitly mentioned in that British 'survey list', is how so many American politicians (nearly always of 'the right'), are prone to invoking the name of 'God' in their speeches or, even worse, declaring themselves as 'Christian' in the same tone they would use as they would when bragging ("I'm superior!"). That is something that has hardly ever happened in this country, at least since our 17th century Civil War - though I must admit it did ever so briefly appear during debates on gay marriage. And, as far as I know, it is much the same throughout nearly all of Europe, religion (for which read 'Christianity) never being mentioned, other than now in far-right administrations like Putin's Russia and Orban's Hungary. If the practice ever did take hold here (most unlikely, thank God!) I'm sure it would drive me crackers!
I was out walking recently and came across one of the itty-bitty libraries, you know the box in front of a house with a couple dozen books in it, free to anyone who wants to read, my thought was, "oh a model for his presidential library."
So many good ones. Kathy Burke! That British worst of list... LOVE! And so true. The orange ogre one where they take what he claims to be and back it up with reality. But the best one is the book burning one... because - I never thought about that. Thanks for the meme-ories!
I afore Kathy Burke. She puts things so eloquently all the time.
ReplyDeleteGreat collection of memes. And sadly they make the point. Especially the insulin one. The McConnell one gave me a good chuckle.
That one is totally Mitch and the GOP!
DeleteThat last one says it all!
ReplyDeleteScreams it all!
DeleteEven though Trump's mental condition already has a name, it will, henceforth, be known as Loser's Syndrome.
ReplyDeleteHe has many mental conditions, some we probably won't have names for for years!
DeleteI love being 'woke'. I even have a t-shirt with it on the front. And I loved that Oz photoshop! So good.
ReplyDeleteXOXO
Even though it's a fake, the Oz one is my favorite because it could happen!

ReplyDeleteTake "woke" as meaning the opposite of "asleep," and that's the MAGAt base: asleep and unaware out of their own choosing.
DeleteAs always a good collection!
ReplyDeletexoxo :-)
Thanks ma'am.

The British nailed it, but I was surprised Kanye made the list instead of Art Kelly.
ReplyDeleteKanye is a hot mess.

ReplyDeleteRacism is everywhere, but more insidious in some spots.
DeleteThe compilation of the eight Trump photos was pretty clever. And are you SURE the Dr. Oz one was photoshopped?
ReplyDeleteYes, the Oz was a photoshop. I've seen the real photo.

ReplyDeleteHow long do McTurtles live???
DeleteKathy Burke is right. What's wrong with the term "woke"? It's about waking up and seeing the truth. An admirable character trait.
ReplyDeleteThe right has twisted it into something evil, as they are apt to do.
DeleteHe truly is the worst thing to ever come out of America.
ReplyDeleteEvery one of these is priceless and right on target.

DeleteOh my God, that last one times 1000!

ReplyDeleteSo glad I'm not the only one who loves Kathy Burke. One of my favorite actors.
