Bobservations

In addition to his Retinitis Pigmentosa, Carlos is also color blind; he cannot see red or green at all. The other day, as I worked on the computer, he came into the office and asked if the shirt in his hand was red. I turned, looked, laughed, and said:

“It’s white … and green … and dark blue … and gray. It’s striped.”

“It is?”

“Yes, but the shirt you have on is red.”

“It is? I should buy clothes in only one color from now on.”

Never a dull moment.

This week Kansas voters voted “YES” to protect abortion rights by rejecting a measure to allow the GOP-controlled Legislature to tighten restrictions or ban the procedure outright. Sure, it was just one state, albeit a deeply Red State, but heavy turnout—meaning more Democrats got off their asses and voted—was a major victory for abortion rights advocates.

CAST A GODDAMNED VOTE!

The US House passed the Respect for Marriage Act on July 19, by a vote of 267 to 157, with 47 Republicans surprisingly siding with the Democrats and voting Yes.

Tammy Baldwin, the Senate’s first openly LGBTQ+ member, is leading the charge to get the bill passed, but with the Senate equally split between Democrats and Republicans, she’ll need at least 10 Republicans to break the inevitable GOP filibuster. She says she  has five Republicans publicly committed—Susan Collins. Lisa Murkowski, Rob Portman, Thom Tillis, and Ron Johnson—and said, “five additional members have indicated they are leaning in support.”

The Senate recess begins this week so the vote may not happen until September, but here’s hoping Baldwin can get the other five Republicans, and maybe a few more, to so the right thing.

Atlanta’s long-running Music Midtown festival at Piedmont Park was scheduled for next month but has been called off because, industry sources say, recent changes to Georgia gun laws prevent the festival from banning guns on to the publicly owned festival grounds.

So, guns have killed a music festival, too.

Last weekend’s LIV Golf event at the Thing 45 National Golf Club in Bedminster Bloodminster New Jersey was kind of a dud. Fewer than 1,000 people watched the Facebook Live feed for the first two rounds, and on the course, there were far fewer in attendance.

Tickets sold for $75 per day but could be had on the secondary market for $1 apiece.

A dollar.

I could get behind being Amish if this is the drag I get to wear, though I’d like to add a large hat.

And speaking of Bloodminster, Ivana Trump, the first ex-missus Thing 45, was buried at the Thing 45 National Golf Club where Thing 45 himself plans to be buried one day, though there’s no word on Melanie’s final resting place.

And he buried the ex-wife there because New Jersey land used for cemetery purposes comes with a significant tax break, so Ivana’s corpse was used to make coins for her ex.

Pig.

Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker, a Republican, signed legislation to further protect access to reproductive health care services in the state following the SCOTUS decision overturning Roe v. Wade.

The legislation codifies several measures that were first included in an Executive Order issued by Baker last month, and also adopts several new or expanded measures to protect access to reproductive health services in the Commonwealth.

From a Republican.

I don’t know about you, but this looks to me like someone in the crowd is throwing hamburgers and Thing 45 thinks it feeding time.

This is Hugo Sanges Galuppo Trufelli, a thirty-one-year-old actor and model from São Paulo, Brazil. Would You Hit It?

Would you hit it knowing Hugo has an identical twin?

  1. Yes....I agree...that Amish sack definitely needs a hat.

Oh poor Carlos. I cant imagine not seeing colors or only some of them.

I couldn't agree more with all the voters and especially the independents and liberal republicans. Those two groups with Dems getting off there dudes....the GQP ought to be very afraid. The US is getting tired of their bullshit.

I don't know how trump is still floating. Every aspect of his empire is hurting. Im surprised he didn't hang himself yet.

    1. Well, Thing 45 is looking like sh*t on the outside as well as inside, so there's that!

  2. One: Cheeto had cosmetic surgery? He looks... weird? Two: Kansas was schooled. Three: Can I have Hugo's phone number? I need to call him. And his twin.

And I love stories with Carlos. I only know one person who is color blind and he told me all his clothes are neutral because that way he can just pick something from the pile and know it'll go together!

    XOXO

    1. My first thought with Hugo was: two???? Oh my goodness, yes, please.
Carlos really should go more neutral so it's less of a bother, but then if I have to be his stylist, I'm good with that.

  4. That last pic, allegedly of Trumpelstiltskin, is really of a little old lady who has a hairdresser's appointment tomorrow and she picked up the first hat she could find to hide the bird's nest on her head.

My brother was blue-green colour blind which meant that he had to throw out his dream of being a fleet air arm pilot.

      I'm good with that.

  5. My goodness. I can't even imagine how hard it would be to dress myself if I had issues like Carlos. And sending off the kids to the school would be interesting. It was great to see Kansas vote the way they did and hopefully that means people will show up in November.

    1. I, too, hope people see what happened in Kansas and realize we can do that everywhere is we all just vote!
To be fair, I have sometimes dressed like I'm color blind so I kinda feel Carlos' pain a wee bit.

  6. Poor Ivana - that grave is a damn insult!

    1. And I wonder how the kids feel about going to visit their mother's grave at a golf course, but then that whole family is money grubbing scum so they probably don't care!

  7. It wasn't only Blue voters that said 'no' in Kansas, there were a number of Red voters who did likewise. Hugo yes. Trump actually had to start a Funeral Company in order to get that tax deduction. I think that less Amish and more Nunish. And a lot of people laughed at Trump's failed golf tournement.

    1. Oh, yeah, a lot of Reds voted the right way, but higher turnout almost always means more Democrats came out to vote, and we need to keep that going.

  8. I would hit Hugo-with body hair- for sure and twice on Sunday!! Coffee??

Melania should get out of there as quick as she can or she will be laying next to Ivana. The Big Fat Orange One would love that BUT they are too old for his tastes. So says Jeffrey.

The fashion displayed would be great for Thanksgiving Day wear. Gotta be comfortable.

Carlos' work attire should be like a director I worked with. She always wore some type of black slacks and footwear. No dresses. Her tops were various styles and colors. I saw her at a workmates wedding once and she was in a dress and heals. I almost fell over. Easy!.

    1. Melanie will probably be entombed in a man's room somewhere.
I'm thinking I'll be his stylist on the color wheel part of his wardrobe!

  9. Oh, sweet Carlos, bless him! My older brother is so colorblind that he was told to NEVER shop for clothes on his own.

I, too, cannot imagine being color-blind. I’ve heard of various systems employed to avoid mismatches such as grouping clothes in specific areas or having everything labeled but it shows just how much the rest of us take things for granted.
Hugo & his twin? Check off that fantasy…
And let us only hope if Kansas can show the balls to vote like they did, the rest of this fucked up nation can cast a god-damned vote!

    2. Carlos is attempting to set up the closet in a way that he knows what color is what. And we, and I mean myself, do take a lot for granted about eyesight!
      Hugo-squared!
I need America to be like Kansas, and I never thought I'd say that!
Melanie should be buried on top of Ivana!

  11. Kansas shows that most states are more liberal than you think, once you piss off people who didn't think voting mattered

    1. I don't know if they're more liberal, I think a lot of GOPers and Independents voiced their disapproval over that SCOTUS ruling.

  12. Well Kansas and Mass. Nice surprises. MN has it written in our state constitution. Poor Ivana. Not only did she breed with that thing but then he desecrates her corpse and makes her an f'ing joke. Hugo, in full fur, looks older than 31, so... yes. I would spank that hard. And comb his chest hair. Sigh. Kizzes.
