I am a terrible person to buy gifts for because I really don’t
want anything and when I need something, I get it myself. So, as my birthday approached—sidenote:
thanks for all the birthday wishes yesterday—I told him I’d give him a clue, and
here it is:
“The husband of a presidential candidate from last year
wrote a book I would like to read.”
“What? Say it again?”
“The husband of a presidential candidate has written
a book and I would like to read it.”
Cut to yesterday and there’s a gift on the table—a book—and I
open it up to find that it was ‘Trust’ by Pete Buttigieg. I said to Carlos:
“I didn’t realize Pete had written a book … ”
“I thought it was the one you asked for.”
I said, again:
“The husband of a presidential candidate wrote a book
…”
“Oh, Chasten?”
“Yes, Chasten.”
We went out for the day and stopped in at Book on Broad
where he ordered the book. But. As he asked the shop owner about the book, I
heard him say Chasten Buttigieg, and the shop owner said:
“Yes, I have it: ‘Trust.’ By Pete Buttigieg.”
So, it really wasn’t his bad, it was hers. Luckily, he, um, straightened
her out. |
Enjoy the gift and let me know about the book. I may get it too.
ReplyDeleteI have been wondering the same thing Tuxdeo...the same thing.
As for Margaret Court. Oh hunty....she is in need of a good moisturizer....STAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Last I hear, four GOP senators are not going to seek re-election because of the current GOP. WAKE UP Democrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seat to fill.

ReplyDeleteGood Twitter of the week!
xoxo :-)
tuxedo and that tweet.
ReplyDeletealso THAT MAN; wow, what a body!
frankie graham cracker and the GOPricks can fuck right off.
uncle joe has accomplished much and we still have so far to go.
The Tweet of the Day says it all!
ReplyDeleteRob Portman didn't vote against that fake doctor Rand Paul's motion on Tuesday so not sure he has the cojones to vote anti-Trumposaur in the "unlikely" (joke) event that the evidence goes against the Con
ReplyDeletePS seen this https://djtrumplibrary.com/ ? weep with laughter
ReplyDeleteI don't know why you had to make things so difficult for Carlos. The pellet with the poison’s in the vessel with the pestle; the chalice from the palace has the brew that is true? Seriously?
ReplyDeleteI read this morning about Saverio Pescucci apartment search and, OK, he is seriously cute and hot. But does he really expect us to believe he chose those photos to introduce himself to a potential housemate with no goal of getting a lot of publicity? Please!
Oh, that Tweet is FIRE. So true! And hitting the Repugs in the pocket is the right thing to do.
ReplyDeleteLove me some Tuxedo! That kitty KNOWS.
Ohhh you got the Pete book and then you're getting the Chasten book? Lucky boy!
I read about Mr. Pescucci and cackled. Can you imagine the number of men who volunteered? LOL.
XOXO
El Gato Guapo rocks! Saverio has a kind of goofy face. Yes, I was looking at his face, don't judge.
ReplyDeleteThat tweet, too true and logical for the morans to understand.
It's funny how you described the book and got that same result from Carlos and the bookstore clerk! There's a psychology experiment in there somewhere.
ReplyDeleteSaverio can move to London anytime he wants. I don't think Dave will mind.
Amen to all your political/cultural observations.
I really enjoyed reading this post. And the tweet at the end was priceless (and true). And Saverio...well a great way to end your post!
ReplyDeleteBrix. That scarfed cunt.
ReplyDeleteJust so you know, Saverio didn't take my offer either.
ReplyDeletePortman's getting out because he knows the cheese is going to hit fan for the next several election cycles and doesn't want to be counted as a loser.
Cloris was simply great! What a versatile actress!!
That Crow! He in the know!
ReplyDeleteSaverio. Love that nose.
Google and Microsoft... they do not do enough of the right kind of stuff. Seriously. Buy Detroit and fix it already... They should NEVER give money to political a-holes.
NC. Don't trust 'em.
Portman... milquetoast. Stale toast in milk.
Cloris. A goofy, funny, cranky, fun-loving broad. Just the best. Adore. She had a blessed life. She and her hubby were best friends with Marlon Brando.
Biden. Yay. He needs to sign more shit in one day though... just get it all fixed already.
Faux-Xtians... I don't believe in heaven or hell. But if there were a hell...
I kind of get the position Birx was in... but Fauci was in the same position and he managed to retain his credibility. That entire time period, I was shocked that no one EVER called the orange ogre out on his crap in front of the press. NOT ONCE. And there were some jaw-dropping moments. Sure, you would have been immediately escorted from the building, but at least you still had some integrity.
Jenna Ryan. I get her confused with that crazy Q-Anon in the Senate. I love how they are victims now. Boo hoo... take some responsibility and pay for your own damn lawyer. Hope she loses her business. All the big picture thought of a toddler.
Tuxedo sees the big picture.
Aww... Carlos. And Happy Day After Your Birthday. In a way, it's your birthday all year until the next one... when it magically all starts over. I just wanna know at what age they start subtracting years... and I'm not talking about my Grindr profile!
Have a goody, Bob. Kizzes.
@MM
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to BOTH Buttigieg books!
@TDM
Sometimes good Twitter is just facts and common sense! Who knew?
@AM
I tried to convince Saverio that Camden was a borough of NYC but he didn't buy it.
@Debra
Spells it out plainly, eh?
@Helen
But since he's quitting maybe NOW he has the balls???
@Mitchell
I don't care why he posted those photos, I cleaned out a guest room for him and then he didn't pick me!!!!
@Six
I offered to fly Saverio down here to look at the room .... xoxo
@Deedles
Oh, I looked at his face, too, but then I checked out his, um, 'South Florida' as well.
@Steve
I heard the cashier at the book store say she had the book, and then said 'Pete Buttigieg Trust' so Carlos got a pass!
@Michael
Saverio does have a great end ...and a pretty nice beginning!
@Blobby
Yessssss!
@Dave
You're right about Portman AND Cloris!
@uptonking
I had to go back and look at Saverio's nose because my eyes had wandered.
I don't think any corporation should donate to politicians. Ever.
I trust NC with Blues in charge,
Cloris was a treasure on and off-screen.
I feel the same about Birx and Fauci which is why she needs to tie that scarf across her mouth.
I started subtracting years a while back.
I just turned nineteen!!
xoxo
We made it to Friday!
ReplyDelete@Travel
ReplyDeleteAh,yes!
