… that the Good News is that I am pretty much who I say I
am, and the Bad News is that I’m pretty much who I say I am?
… that if you treat others the way they treat you, they
seem to get very upset?
… that still say, "How stupid can you be?" even
knowing that most people take that as a challenge?
… that I need a day between every day to recover from the
day before and prepare for the day ahead?
… that I am a person who wants to do a lot of things but
I’m trapped in the body of a person who wants to sleep a lot?
… that I know I’m with my people when I don’t have to be
careful about what I say?
… that my heart has no room for some people in my life,
but the trunk of my car has plenty of room for them?

Very deep thoughts, the late 70's cars had the best trunks.
ReplyDeleteYou could store several bodies in those cars ... if you were so inclined, I mean.
DeleteI usually follow "How stupid can you be?" with "You've gotta be kidding (or shitting) me!" And there ain't a trunk big enough!
ReplyDeleteTrue dat!
DeleteHahahahaha, that last one!
ReplyDeleteI'm not saying I've actually done this ...
DeleteThat final one. It’s like you can read my mind.
ReplyDeleteI can.
DeleteThat first one! Balder Half's sister eating a hot dog- "smack, smack, smack", makes me want to smack her upside her face with a bat!
ReplyDeleteWhy is it when I read these, I get violent?
Happens to me, too! That's why I no longer carry a bat with me.
DeleteI find that fruit bats work better than the vampire ones when it comes to facial violence. Those pointy noses work like spears! I've since had to switch to the kind baseball players use. Animals have rights. I'm in a very silly mood today. I hope it lasts.
DeleteIt's hard to grab a fruit bat and hit someone around the face and neck with it, so I'll remember, fondly, my Louisville Slugger.
DeleteI like silly Deedles.
If a trunk isn’t available, a truck with a tarp will do.
ReplyDeleteBodies sometimes bounce out of trucks ... or so I've heard.
Deletethe dog's mother
ReplyDeletemuch chortling!
xoxo :-)
Chortling is good.

I suspect I'm a lot like you in that I tend to upset many people, and to my own delight, I really don't care.
ReplyDeleteI don't want to hurt people [much] but I will always speak my mind.
DeleteOnce again ... kudos for such excellent thought-provoking questions! I can identify with so many, especially the sleeping 😴 one!
ReplyDeleteI am, right now, debating whether to nap or not. And I think i know how this plays out ...
DeleteRecovery times and sleeping are all part of the "fun" phase of life called growing old.
ReplyDeleteI'm learning this.
DeleteI feel you on the chewing thing! And yeah, the struggle between being who you are and dealing with others' reactions is too real. And don't even get me started on needing a day between every day! Can I sign up for that? And hey, sometimes the trunk of the car seems like the perfect place for certain people, right? 😅
ReplyDeleteRead my new blog post: https://www.melodyjacob.com/2024/03/the-leading-industries-causing-health-damage-to-young-people.html
I agree, I can't stand to hear people chewing, or eating with their mouths open!!! Drive me nuts!
ReplyDeleteDon't get me started on the open mouth nonsense! 🤮
DeleteA fruit bat tied to a Louisville slugger! That's the ticket!
DeleteOy, this is getting to be too much work and I'm sleepy ....
DeleteYes, on all of the above, sweetpea! I've also decided to live by these two things: 1. Only the hit dog hollers and 2. There's always some jagoff who says, "Hold my beer." xoxo
ReplyDeleteI like your two things!

"that I am a person who wants to do a lot of things but I’m trapped in the body of a person who wants to sleep a lot?"
ReplyDeleteThat's Me!!
It's a lot of us, I think.
DeleteHa! I love that last one.
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing that you are able to continue these "Why is it..." blogposts and keep it fresh.
