…
that when I hear someone say “Life is a walk in the park,” I think of my life
as a walk through Jurassic Park?
…
that I am the person that always leaves early … like Cinderella?
…
that I hardly ever speak to people? So, if I talk to you, congratulations!
…
that you think I was a toxic person in your life, but in fact it must have been
your fault; next time, don’t play with me.
…
that your secret is safe with me? Cuz I’m gonna forget it as soon as you tell
me.
…
that I hate when people think I’m mad or sad because I’m not talking when the
fact is, sometimes, I’m just too lazy to talk.
…
that one of my toxic traits is going too hard on the chips and salsa before
dinner arrives.
…
that I have the uncanny ability to forget what I’m doing while I’m doing it.
…
that I vacillate between thinking I am crazy and thinking I am not crazy
enough. |
As a former HR rep, I can tell you I don't forget secrets, but I do put them on the far back burner; forgetting them takes away an essential tool.
ReplyDeleteI don't have the time or inclination to store them away.
DeleteMy sister and I will be chatting and one of us will lose our train of thought and say, "what was I talking about?" and the other one of us will always say, "Um, I don't remember." This happens often! :)
ReplyDeleteI do that with Carlos a lot ... stop suddenly and then wonder what I was saying. oy!
DeleteForgetting is a lost art! Oh wait, what was I talking about?
ReplyDeleteThat's me right there!
Delete…I think of my like as a walk through the pines.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds kind of nice.
DeleteI've gone into a bathroom and forgotten what I was there for. After leaving, I remembered that I had to pee. No lie! I think Ellen D might be my sister.
ReplyDeleteI have never done that!! 😳
DeleteI like to think that the filing cabinets in my mind are so full, there is no more room for remembering things. My daughter just thinks I'm losing my mind.
ReplyDeleteIf I'm not talking in a group of people, I'm probably eavesdropping on another conversationg. :p
I like the filing cabinet analogy.
DeleteAnd eavesdropping can be kinda fun!
Well, I love to talk. I like to find out what people are thinking about all the crazy things that go on in this world. But then, I become sad or mad because so many of them don't know what's going on and often seem very proud of how skilled they are at being uninformed!! 🤬🥺
ReplyDeleteI, too, get annoyed when people don't pay attention to the world but can tell you about any number of TikTok videos they've seen.
Deletethe dog's mother
ReplyDeleteLots of chortles!
xoxo :-)
Chortle-a-palooza!

I am definitely that way about secrets. In one ear and out the other. (Unless it's a REALLY REALLY good one.)
ReplyDeleteEven some of the really good ones fade away...
DeleteTHIS is what Saturdays are for! YOU, sweetpea! xoxo
ReplyDeleteWhy thank you!

And oh how I hate when people say life is a walk on the park... Even worse: “Don’t worry. It will all turn out just fine.”
ReplyDeleteOh, don't get me started on those people!
DeleteI totally get the chips and salsa part. I gorge so much on them I can't eat all my delicious looking Mexican entry when it arrives.
ReplyDeleteBeen there!
Delete@Mistress Maddie - He has a name!
ReplyDelete🤣🤣🤣
DeleteI love the Jurassic park joke
ReplyDeleteIt fits me!
DeleteWhy is it that I always think of plenty to say After I leave and go home?
ReplyDeleteI do that and think it's because I'm better on my home turf.
DeleteOh dear! Sounds like you might benefit from a course of psychotherapy.
ReplyDeleteJust one course???
DeleteI do the exact same thing with chips and salsa. I swear to myself every time that I won't do the gorging thing, but I always do!
ReplyDeleteWell, I mean, they're right there!
