Today In The United States of Guns

The Rutherford family of Jay, Oklahoma, owned a vacant home on a lot just outside of town, and one day last week, neighbors saw several cars drive up to the home and called Tony Rutherford to tell him.

Tony Rutherford grabbed his gun, because that’s what you do, and headed over to the house. Upon arriving, he saw his older son’s pickup truck take off across a field; since the vehicle was supposed to be parked, Tony Rutherford gave chase and “fired his rifle at the driver several times.” At least one of those rounds hit the driver, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver was later identified as Rutherford’s 13-year-old son.

And so now, in addition to knowing that he killed his own son, Tony Rutherford was booked on suspicion of first-degree murder.

Just another case of shoot first and ask questions later in The United States of Guns.

  3. First degree murder is right! He picked up his penis extender and purposely went to the property with intent to shoot. He should've just called the cops on some trespassers. Since the kid wasn't black, he'd probably still be alive now. I am seriously not being facetious right now. I feel bad for any surviving family member who has to deal with this.

  4. There should be one important test all gun buyers take. An Intelligence Test, which would include common sense.
