She Calls Herself A Christian ... I Think Baby Jeebus Might Differ

Good Monday Morning ... I was gonna start off the week with an uplifting happy post but then I decided to go this way ....

So, I work in a very small business with a handful — maybe two handfuls — of co-workers and I like it; though it is true that the smaller the work environment the more drama, and we’ve had our fair share.

We had a woman working there for a while who shall remain nameless — oh, hell, her name is Michelle Nunnery Coward … which is the height of hilarity as you’ll see — that I really liked.

She met Carlos when he came into my job one day, and I met her husband when he stopped by; she grew jalapeño peppers in her garden and gave us a bunch and I made a batch of jalapeño pesto and gave her some. Carlos and I have an annual party at our house in May and I was telling him we should invite Michelle and her husband.

Suddenly, though, she up and quit the job; she said it was health related but I don’t know. And slowly, after she quit, she went after several co-workers on Facebook, saying vile things about them — before I forget, Michelle Nunnery Coward wants y’all to know she’s a Good Christian Woman — and then unfriending them.

At work we would laugh and say that I was the only one she really liked. Not so much …

Over the weekend she posted a picture of President Obama in drag with a racist transphobic caption about those “Bathroom Bills” and I replied that I thought it was offensive and disgusting. I got into a bit of a Facebook scuffle with a racist, homophobic, possibly illiterate cousin-f**king friend of hers. And then just deleted the entire post so I couldn’t see that hate.

Then, yesterday morning I got this private message from Michelle Nunnery Coward — and Coward fits best though Nunnery? Not even close — that she sent to me before unfriending me:
"Oh sorry Bob but most of my friends on Facebook agree with me don't want fags dressing like girls going in the girls restrooms!
You know you love to cause drama that's what you are all about!
You are strange and a fag!
I am guessing you are the girl in your relationship because fags are not allowed to be married in God's law!!!!
Sorry go back to California where your faggot ass belongs!!!!!
Smooches!!!"
Let’s not even discuss the illiterate nature of the comment, but remember that this is someone I considered a friend — and I’m usually a pretty good judge of character; I guess I missed that one.

Don't feel bad for me; I don't. After Michelle Nunnery Coward went off on my fellow co-workers I joked that I was waiting for my turn. And I got it, thankyouverymuch.

Now, before anyone says a word about South Carolina and Christians, I must say this: We have lived her almost ten years now and this is the very first time anyone, friend or not, has spoken to me like this, so it isn’t South Carolina and it isn’t Christians.

It’s people like Michelle Nunnery Coward.

  2. Oh My Gawd Almighty! She really takes some beating doesn't she? - or at least deserves a jolly good one! Your "Good riddance" ought to feel ever so satisfying.

  3. Well, I've always said that even people who are nice to you in public and appear all tolerant and open-minded may often harbor vile and hateful thoughts about LGBT persons, so even if you consider yourself a good judge of character, some people slip past the radar. The South is known for "politeness" and "if you can't say something nice...." This Coward is no Southern Belle.

  4. What a POS! You say don't feel sorry for me, but Bob, it is never easy to have undeserved words hurled at you. And there is no changing the minds of people who think like this. Good riddance has to be it. Take care. <3

  5. I'm gobsmacked!
Yesterday I had coffee with the girls (2 of us are gmas but we are still the girls).
A 3.5 coffee marathon causes visits to the bathroom and nobody got attacked! Imagine that! Open bathrooms have been the law since January here in WA AC (above California).

  6. I was standing in line during the intermission of the show I went to see in Chicago a couple of weeks ago and I'm pretty sure the lady I was visiting with as we were waiting was trans. And not a word was said about her use of said restroom. Funny, I don't think anyone cared! (after all, we all just needed to pee)(Smooches!)

  7. Self-proclaimed "Christians" are always the first ones who will crucify you.

  8. Flabbergasted! She feels free to finally unleash her true feelings now that she's away from that jobsite.

  9. WOW. Well by all means....lets let out that Cassoway after her ass. My lands, her morals, manners, two faced ways and her language, is an affront to the very delicacy of my nature.

  10. What's funny is she's probably sitting at home feeling all smug and self-satisfied because she told you 'what for,'and all of her Krazy Kristian friends on Facebook are patting her on the back because she didn't do it in person, she did it on Facebook.

  12. What kind of name is Nunnery? Sounds like she needs to be locked away in a convent and DR is right; she's happy to hate at one remove rather than telling you how she feels face to face. You must feel betrayed that she hid such vile feelings from you so well.
