Wingnuts, Religion, Politicians and Guns

Of course it would be in Tennessee ….

Brant Williams, owner of Frontier Firearms is offering a deal, but only for Christians, mind you. Oh, and he’s doing it because a gun nut out in Oregon asked people if they were Christians before he shot them and then went ahead and shot everybody no matter what they said.
"If Christians are going to be targeted, we need to protect ourselves. The best way to protect yourself is with the best weapon available, and that happens to be a handgun." — Brant Williams
Of course, he’s not the only asshat out there getting a mixed idiotic message and running with it; Tennessee’s Lt. Governor Ron Ramsey is also encouraging Christians who are serious about their faith to think about getting a handgun carry permit in light of the massacre in Oregon.

Hmmm, I wonder why he said nothing about all the young Black men who’ve been murdered in this country and urging Black Americans to arm themselves? Or, what about the LGBT community who has been targeted for decades for being gay? I haven’t heard Ramsey telling me to stock up on the weaponry. I guess he only cares about Christians when a wingnut opens fire.

And so Brant Williams is following the lead of an asshatted politician and offering 5% off any new handgun if you say you're a Christian. And you don’t have to prove it, mind you, you just have to say it, which leads me to believe that any mentally ill lunatic, or gun-toting asshat, or racist pig, can walk into Williams’ store, muter the word Christian, save 5% and then head on out for target practice at the nearest school or church or mall.

And people say we don’t have a gun problem? Or an asshat problem?

  2. Apparently the GOP in our (WI) state legislature in reaction to the shootings in Oregon and Arizona want to abolish gun-free zones in lots of places -- you know, to make sure that more bullets are flying around campuses.

  3. I wish the NRA wold explain that with all the guns already out there, not one gun toting person has ever been able to stop a mass murder.

  4. What can you say when someone says this about guns; "As a parent I feel more comfortable with my children having a weapon on campus rather than a dildo"? Are they mad?
