Architecture Wednesday: Bel Air Stunner

If you want to own "a place worth visiting," then this newly-built compound, which sits at the end of a very long, gated drive overlooking the 350-acre untouched Hoag Canyon, is just the place for you.

Four bedrooms, four bathrooms, and it sits just up the hill from Sunset almost at Mulholland.  It may seem like a drive, but it's actually minutes from where you want to be, like the Bel Air Hotel, the Valley and the 405 Fwy, and you are rewarded with scenery and solitude and privacy.

The home is quite different from the neighbors ... no cookie cutter McMansion here ... and is reminiscent of Richard Meier's Getty Museum. The home is literally encased in Travertine stone, and features monumental scale & proportion, disappearing glass walls and a seamless indoor-outdoor flow.

Settle in, for just $9.95 million.

  1. Wow! The ceiling is a bit cathedral-ish, but stunning!

  3. I agree with Helen: It looks like a hotel. And to think there are people in the city below barely getting by.
