… that it’s been a wild year this week?
… that as I get older and remember all the people I’ve lost
along the way I think to myself … maybe a career as a tour guide wasn’t for me.
… that when I die I don’t
want y’all looking for me in sunsets or butterflies or wildflowers. Look
behind you, that’s me chasing you up the stairs.
… that I stress about stress
before there’s even stress to stress about, then I stress about stressing over
stress that doesn’t need to stressed about? It’s stressful.
… that I want all of you who signed my 8th grade
yearbook and told me to ‘Stay cool’ to know that I did.
… that I count my work days
like I’m in jail. Three more wake ups and I’m free!
… that things you find
offensive I often find hilarious? And why does it make me happier than you?
… that when I was just
5-years-old a bear told me only I could prevent forest fires; why I was chosen
I will never know. |
A lot of us were chosen, though some of us can do it stress free, and I'm so glad you're not going to be my tour guide in Greece.
ReplyDeleteYou mean I wasn't the ONLY one the bear chose?
Delete"Stay cool"? You don't sound very cool when you are thinking about The Felon and his MAGA acolytes! You sound like a volcano getting ready to explode.
ReplyDeleteI am coolly erupting!
DeleteChosen by the bears!
ReplyDeleteI always did like a bear.
Deletethe dog's mother
ReplyDeleteHave a good weekend!
xoxo :-)
In this heat???? I'll try ...
Deletexoxo
Yes, the one about stress. That's me exactly! ;)
ReplyDeleteI am generally pretty stress-free but every so often .... 💥
DeleteDamn! That frickin’ bear told ME the same thing!
ReplyDeleteAnd here i thought I was special. 😢
DeleteOMG ... you know how much I love my Saturdays with you! 🤩
ReplyDeleteGlad to oblige!
DeleteIt's a good spot for a weekend laugh.
Hahahaha, oh that darn Smokey the Bear!
ReplyDeleteYou, too?
DeleteWhy wasn't I the ONLY one???
Staying cool being a tour guide! Love it! 😎
ReplyDeleteBest advice: don't follow me.
DeleteSome offensive things are definitely hilarious...eye of the beholder and all that. Luckily for me, I have a brother who gets my humour and shares it. :p
ReplyDeleteI love offensive humor, though I am careful where i use it.
DeleteNot quite invariably, but we so often stress about what we imagine will go wrong, or be difficult. Instead we are hit from behind by something completely different.
ReplyDeleteTruth!
DeleteI can relate to several of those. Especially finding some offensive things hilarious to the point I just can't take the offense, too busy lmao.
ReplyDeleteI am like that, too!
DeleteThe stress one describes my second ex perfectly. Even when there is nothing to worry about, he worries that there is nothing happening and surely that can't be right?
ReplyDeleteStress can, and will, eat you alive.
DeleteI thought about signing up to be a tour guide when I retired because I live in a popular tourist area and because I generally like people. But having done 17 trips since my divorce I realize that "the one" (you know, the one on the trip that drives everyone nuts) would probably do my head in. Mind you, our guide in Thailand has been doing this for 40 years and more laid back that that you couldn't get!
ReplyDeleteI think it takes a special person to keep the guided trip interesting.
