Thanks Joe

I never thought I'd see this, read this, or hear this; it was unthinkable to me. But the decision isn't mine or yours or theirs; it's his, and he made it, doing what he thinks is right, though it might be a tough decision, but the best right decision for America.

My Fellow Americans,

Over the past three and a half years, we have made great progress as a Nation.

Today, America has the strongest economy in the world. We've made historic investments in rebuilding our Nation, in lowering prescription drug costs for seniors, and in expanding affordable health care to a record number of Americans. We've provided critically needed care to a million veterans exposed to toxic substances. Passed the first gun safety law in 30 years. Appointed the first African American woman to the Supreme Court. And passed the most significant climate legislation in the history of the world. America has never been better positioned to lead than we are today.

I know none of this could have been done without you, the American people. Together, we overcame a once in a century pandemic and the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. We've protected and preserved our Democracy. And we've revitalized and strengthened our alliances around the world.

It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your President. And while it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term.

I will speak to the Nation later this week in more detail about my decision.

For now, let me express my deepest gratitude to all those who have worked so hard to see me reelected. I want to thank Vice President Kamala Harris for being an extraordinary partner in all this work. And let me express my heartfelt appreciation to the American people for the faith and trust you have placed in me.

I believe today what I always have: that there is nothing America can't do - when we do it together. We just have to remember we are the United States of America.

Thanks Joe, for standing up for us against the policies of The Felon; for getting through COVID,  as many of us watched our friends and loved ones die; for helping us get back on our feet, spiritually, emotionally, and financially.

That will be quite the legacy. A legacy I hope will be treated with care and kindness by your successor.

I will stand with Kamala Harris, should she be the nominee; and I will stand with whomever she chooses as her running mate. I will stand with every Democrat to take this country forward, and not back to a time when women had no rights, LGBTQ+ people were less than, and people of color were not treated equally, and anyone with brown skin was considered an "illegal" or a terrorist.

Onward, forward Citizens.

    1. If you go on Xwitter you can see how scared the GOP is about Kamala; it's fun.

  2. Yet one more difference between he and the Dump. True class and concern for the country. It just took him time to weigh all possibilities. That is decorum, manners, morals and true class and statesmanship. The Dump would have just run the country into the ground, left a mess and ran.

Oh wait, he already did that.

Liz Warren said it best. " Who better to take on a felon than a prosecutor."

  3. I voted for her the last election, and look forward to voting for her again. I hope Joe lives to be a 100 and publishes a book a year to prove that he still has it.

  4. I think the pressure to resign became too much, and while I'm certain Biden was by far the better choice between he and IQ45, the media and the GOP have pushed the "he's too old and unfit" for him to stay. I do believe that Harris will be able to withstand the crap that will come her way from both. But most of all, I'm quite enjoying the panic and sheer stupidity being spewed by IQ45 and his ilk.

    1. The media and Democrats who were too scared to stand firm and fight helped push Joe to this decision.
And, yes, seeing the Right panic over his change is hilarious!

  5. This is the best thing to happen to this country ever! A young candidate is going to challenge the 78 year-old felon the Republicans picked as their candidate. She's going to hit this one out of the park because Republicans are so completely reprehensible.

  6. I was angry at first with all the members of congress who kept piling on. Then I became sad --- for him, for the way he was treated, for having to step down when I know he wanted to keep going. In the end, it's his decision and I do think the right one. I just hope they can get their shit together, they need to work their asses off now and win in Nov.

  7. Oh, so WHO is the elderly man running, huh?
I was devastated when Huntley texted me Joe had dropped, but Kamala has Black Twitter on fire and the MAGAts running around scared. And she raised fifty million dollars overnight.

She'll be fine. Just wait for Cheeto to duck the second debate in three... two..

    XOXO

  8. My admiration for Joe Biden grew even more yesterday. He put his country before himself. I hope that history will always remember this. And it is indeed fun to watch all of the stupid GOP posting. I saw that Mike Johnson was talking of a lawsuit to keep him in the race. And the felon has been going nuts on his truth social platform.

Mike Johnson is an idiot. You cannot force someone to run; and any candidate has the right to refuse the nomination and step down.

  10. I know this isn't what you hoped for, but I think it will be best for the world and Joe Biden; he needs to relax and enjoy his last years with family and friends, without all the stress and hatred thrown his way by all the maggots and their vengeful leader.

  13. President Biden has shown what decency and obligation look like. During the last few weeks I came to the realization that this election is not about the best candidate, it is about good vs evil.

  15. I heard rumblings the news was coming on Sunday. Close to noon Denver time I thought we were out of the woods. And then the announcement came. I was saddened and numb. I still am to a degree.

I follow politics pretty closely and the behind-scenes were getting nasty. AOC had a one-hour live Instagram and spilled some machinations behind the curtain. What stood out to me was the word "donors" kept on being used. You know the folks with the money pulling the strings. The word "voters" was regulated to second place. There was a shuttle-butt of pushing Biden AND Harris out. I was glad that after Uncle Joe made his announcement he circled back and posted that he endorsed Kamala. Some say that was a bold, ballsy move to relay that Joe gets a voice in who his replacement is.

The support for Kamala following the announcement came in swift and fast from state governors supporting her and most importantly the money came flowing in millions. A great start.

So let's deal with the technical stuff and then get to work UNITED. I don't care who the running mate is. We have a democracy to save.

The pundits, MSM, and corporate elites... are going to have a field day with this. It's going to get nasty for sure. Diaper Don and his cabal are pissed at the switch in the battle plans. Gird your loins!!

Let's go. The runway is short. We have an election to win. VOTE!! VOTE!!

Time to end corporate monies in our elections and overturning the law that made corporations people !
The oligarchs pushed Biden out and now it’s time to start pushing the oligarchs out before they destroy our country and our freedoms and rights.
Schiff and the other Democrats who piled on Biden better get their shit together ! They better coalesce around Harris. I don’t forgive backstabbers and opportunists, I’ll remember them come their elections.:(
It’s as if they all , media, corporations and errant democrats, work hand in glove for Trump. Autocracy is theirs, Democracy is ours. They want an authoritarian republic, WE demand a democratic republic. :) - Rj

  19. #45's remarks upon hearing of President Biden's decision not run in November were typically nasty and ungracious - un-befitting of anybody who aspires to lead America. On the other hand, President Biden led with intelligence, kindness and purpose - refusing to reduce his important office to some kind of circus sideshow.

I'm late but had to add my 2 cents' worth -- thank you, thank you, Joe for stepping up and in and thwart the Felon's reelection attempt in 2020! God only knows where we'd be if you hadn't! His appointed acolyte (or worse, himself as king or dictator or...) would be running now. Your dedication over more than 50 years is an inspiration to all DECENT Americans!
