The Trail: Day 3: Morning:
"Thompson, the smug attorney for the Proponents of Prop 8, is taking the position that gays are not being discriminated against any more and so that cannot be the reason that Prop 8 passed.
He makes a point and then asks Professor Chauncey if that is correct.
He’s mentioning Will and Grace, the movie Philadelphia, and Brokeback Mountain as evidence that LGBT people are not being discriminated against."

That's so crazy about the Will & Grace thing

ReplyDeleteThat is a stunning piece of rationalisation

Thank God for those gay TV shows and movies. I don't have to worry about discrimination anymore? I can go out and get married? Cool.
ReplyDeleteIf that were a solid principle, it would work in reverse too, right? So, because the TV show "Roots" showed slavery, there is slavery now?
