  12. It is strange how right wingers have appropriated the terms "woke" and "wokery" and "woke-ism" to denigrate liberals and liberal thinking. We should wrestle that word back and remember its origins in the civil rights movement. Personally, I am proud to be "woke". There's nothing wishy washy or inherently reprehensible about "woke-ism"
